This place is amazing. The bar is three stories high and it is obvious the owner spared no expense building it. It has a few waitresses to barfine but the venue is more for people to come in and watch shows and dance. I saw a lot of off-duty bargirls, as well as, non-working girls. Some have said this place was a freelancer bar but I didn't get that feeling. The girls were here just to relax and have a good time. It is a great place to bring a girl. Will repeat but bring along my own entertainment (a girl) when I return

I agree, but I had 6 girls with me and it pretty much seemed like any other club after a while except louder. I did see a white guy dancing his heart out with a billyboy. I don't know if E noticed this, since his face was burried in one of my barfines ass.

Might get you excited in the bar, but under the sheets might be a different story! A billyboy is the Philippines version of the katoey in Thailand. IMHO, the billyboys are somewhat obvious, where some of the katoeys are almost indistinguishable from the real thing.

Went in here for the first time on a Saturday night. The place was packed and really happening. Was lucky enough to sit at a big table on the second floor with my 4 girls and other friends. In time, some seats on the railing opened up for our viewing pleasure. At midnight, there was entertainment, several segments of dancers in customs-nice change of pace. Afterwards, late night, feeling good, hamming it up on the dance floor with my 4 barfines. A must see!!! RW

I did not discuss this place in my report but I did go there the night they had a production for Jesus Christ Superstar. The bar has two levels but is very small for a night club. There is a circular stage in the middle and there are usually production numbers on the weekend. I did not see any freelancers worth noting but did see a lot of punters with their dates. The show was horrible as it was composed mostly of gay men. The last thing I want to see is men in loin clothes dancing to choreogrpahed pieces, There was only two girls in the production and they were fugly. This place might be better on other nights and I will check it out next time.

I did not notice a third level but I was not looking that closely.

Closed for minor renovations. The Champagne Group bought the bar. At one point during my recent visit there was a sign in front of the place, advertising for sexy dancers. This meant they were scrapping the freelancer venue for the more conservative a-gogo approach. Just before I left I was informed that the new owners were going to keep the same format and continue to allow girls into the club unescorted. The sign was also taken down. As far as renovations - they were adding a bar on the second floor, but that was going to be the extent of it.

Grand re-opening on Saturday...I will tell you how it goes.
By Bigballs on Friday, June 27, 2003 - 10:37 am: Edit |
It is open again. Pretty much the same as before, except all waitresses now are barfinable for 500p. Some good looking ones there. I had four girls with me, so still can't comment on the actual pick uppping here. Food is available and is decent. It was not very crowded around midnight, but still a good showing.

I am not a fan of this place at all. The bar is beautiful and has several floors but the place caters to locals. The worst night to go is Tuesday which is Ladies Night. Many girls take Tuesday night off to go out with their friends or their trike driver/pimp boyfriends. It is much better on the weekends but I didn't see much talent here for what could be a great bar if done right. On Tuesday, I was the only non-local in the place and I was not confortable with the nasty glares I was getting from these little punks. The other crappy thing is that they have men in BVD's get up on stage and do lame Solid Gold Dance routines. I don't come to a bar to see guys dance half naked although I do understand they want the local girls to spend their pesos on their boyfriends drinks and their boyrfiends friends drinks etc. The one benefit of going there on Tuesday is that I immediately scratched a couple girls off of my list once I saw their boyfriends......The approached me and gave me some bola bola that they were not with the guy or that it was their brother. I just told them to live their lives and that I was not stupid.

This is one place that may be hard to review for a couple factors. The first being of course that I used to sit in as manager three times a week and therefore will be a bit biased when it comes to critiquing the place. However, I hope you will take my review as an honest one and not just as spam for a place I was once affiliated with.
When the place first opened it was run by Gerrard who is a local business man with many property interests in town and runs the company that makes and designs many of the clubs around Angeles. You will recognize his work in Cambodia, Blue Nile, Executive Club, Spanx, Secrets, Hole in the Wall, Lancelot, Camelot, and a host of others. Needless to say the guy is a visionary and likes to try new things. His idea was to open a first class disco that would attract freelancers from all over and be to Angeles what LA Café is to Manila. This concept, while worthy, did not work. Angeles is just not set up like that.
Contrary to the opinion of a few loud and opinionated posters (a group I am proud to belong to! Well, at least the loud and opinionated part, I have never agreed with their stance on Pick-Up) the new owners did not buy the place because they were threatened by the business model of the place. They bought it as it was always intended to be run by the current owners and the consortium who now run the place liked the disco and had in their mind a business model that they are running now, and quite successfully I might add.
Most nights the Pick-Up Disco is crowded with people and even on what many would call a dead night, there are still 100 plus people through the door and will spend some time in the place. Also, while it is true that the Pick Up loves foreigners, that crowd is the gravy on what the locals are, the meat and potatoes of the place. It is a club where locals and foreigners alike can come and have fun and something very different from the normal venue of Angeles City.
Though now more of a misnomer, the Pick-Up can be very enjoyable with it’s live bands, comedy nights, lady’s nights, and other entertainment shows. The current line-up is as follows. Monday the place is closed for major cleaning and maintenance. Tuesday and Thursday are Lady’s night. These are not for everyone and in fact homophobic people should probably stay away. I have heard many complaints by some foreigners that when they came in to Pick Up they were offended by the male dancers on stage. I guess they didn’t notice the three floors full of Filipinas screaming and having a great time and couldn’t get past the performers on stage. As far as “picking up” it is on these nights I see the most action in the place in regards to that. And the crowd is not your average off duty bar girl either. Nurses, office workers, domestic workers, and other Filipinas from all walks of life come inside Pick-Up to blow off a little steam and have fun.
Wednesday nights are for the guys. There is an all female dance troop calling themselves the Gold Star Dancers who perform three times a night. These girls are professional dancers and put on one hell of a show. Not to mention they are cute as hell too!
Friday is our comedy night with the band “A Man Called Horse”. This band performs oldies as well singing hits from the 50’s, 60’s, 70’s and 80’s. Then when the two main singers are done warming up the crowd the two comedians come on stage and will perform. Their act is about 75 to 80 percent in English so no fear in not understanding what is going on. But if you want a special treat bring a Filipina to the show and she will have a GREAT time. I have not met a Filipina yet that does not love this band.
Saturday features our most popular band “Circle of Faith” which play all sorts of songs from rock and roll to soul and R&B plus some fun comedy songs thrown in for good measure. They tried to find some new talent to mix things up a while but there were so many demands to bring back this group we just had to. They perform every Saturday and play 4 sets with the first show starting at 10.
Sunday is also a band night but the band rotates. Currently playing is “Child’s Play” which has one of the best female singers I have ever heard live. I am sure we are going to lose her soon as she is bound to get picked up for an overseas contract or something. Yes, she is that good.
Anyway, that is what is going on at Pick-Up right now. A lot of fun to be had. Even if I didn’t work there before (and as a matter of fact on the nights I don’t work) I usually end up in here at least once a night to see what’s going on and who’s inside. You can bet money on every girl in town eventually walking inside the place and you never know who you will see inside!
A great alternative place to go and hands down the best date place in town.

Jung, welcome to CH. Always interested in what you have to say, even though I often disagree. Re: PickUp, I've had a good time there on several occasions, but can only enjoy it in small doses. It still is always a hit with barfines looking to barhop somewhere, so that's always nice.

Visited (well, got dragged) here a few times on ladies night and found more billyboys and baklas then pinays. If you're in the market for THAT then I recommend Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Pricewise this place is pretty decent to keep you and your BF outta trouble if money is a problem. I took 11 (yeah, 11) women from my hotel here one night and they had a couple of rounds along with some food. The total bill was roughly 1500P. Group roughly the same size down at R & B set me back 5500P. The price differential earned it a lot of points in my book, but the Filipinos walking around in the elephant undies were not really my style. Perhaps I'll try it another night when I return.
On another evening, middle of last year, I took a couple of barfines there and the staff took REALLY good care of them while I was away. They made sure they weren't buying drinks for friends and keeping things under control.
This place is indeed a locals hangout, which is good and bad. In the past, when I've been in ANY bar in AC, and a few "local boys" came in for a drink, all the foreigners and girls became nervous. Maybe it's different in THIS place, but when I see a room with clumps of Pinoys I start looking to pay my tab and GET THE HELL OUT OF THERE!! Maybe I've had too many problems in the past to allow myself to see past this, but being put at issue the number of times that I have I'm unwilling to take this risk.
I've not heard the latest clump of bands. The last time I was in there, of my own accord, for a non-bakla event was mid October and I found the band's posturing to an empty room refreshingly banal. Since they are still operating I would guess the bands have improved significantly.
Can I barfine the goldstar dancers?

This is still the most requested place to go from girls. Chad from Kitten Club is working there now and that is the highlight for me, shooting tequila. Of course I don't do this very often. Most of the waitresses are on the 2matchu chat site, so are my chat buddies. A few times I met them for breakfast. One time when I first got here this time, had 7 of them over to my hotel on thier day off. Just for dinner of course...

Wish this place would close down as it attracts too many local Filipino men spending their gf's money. This place now has ladies night 3 nights in a row and nothing but male "macho" dancers on stage and karaoke. Filipino entertainment is the lowest in the world. I wish these locals would stay away from Fields but they like to make themselves present like they are in the same league as us..they arent.

Ditto of what I wrote above. Actually much worse. Want to know what the girl is doing with the money you send her...go here and watch the bargirls buy rounds of drinks for the laziest men on the planet.

This place is now Heartbreaker Night Club.
From my trip report.
I hit the brand new Heartbreaker’s and spent about an hour or so there checking out the place. I had never been inside this place when it was Pickup Disco so I was eager to see it. I must say it was really well done inside and had a nice décor. It was three stories high with the first level the main go-go stage and seating area. The second level had a glass bottom stage that lines the walkway around the place. Several ladies were dancing on this. And then finally the top level was a really small narrow walkway around the edge of the place that you could only get halfway around since there was a decorative model house blocking the way. . They had some really comfortable chairs and couches on level two that faces a television screen that was showing American baseball. So I hung out there for a while and talked to some ladies.
There may have been one of two doables at this place, but they seemed a little older. One lady I spoke with came from Mirrors bar. Another lady I noticed was attractive, but had to be close to 30. I think this place has great potential; they just need to find a few mamasans with some better ladies.

Hahah- I just scan-read the previous posts- and I must agree - this place has horrible looking girls for the most part. I went here with my girl twice. Actually I wanted to experience their 3 level, classy style night club with an excellent audio system. The music played here is great along with the quality of their big screen TV and staff.
Unfortunatly, even with all the dancers in this club; I only spotted 2 ladies worth looking at. Probably too spoiled with The Dollhouse or Champagne or Magic Moments.
Heartbreaker was a disapointment.

I tried this place and I liked it. The girls put on an ocassional floor show and you can find a few cuties here. I love the big screen TV and the comfortable seating and air conditioning. Worth a try.

Heartbreaker has been reopened as Crystal Palace. It is now part of the Atlantis / DollHouse / Tropix group of bars. Be advised that the barfine for girls with green cards is double that of those with white cards I barfined a white card girl named Lynn. Highly recommended.

Were Crystal Palace girls' salaries withheld recently or something?
It's pretty odd when you see an entire stage PACKED full of girls actively SCOWLING AT YOU (well, and El Apodo!) when you sit down and order a drink!
By Porker on Tuesday, December 21, 2010 - 01:44 am: Edit |
Had some fun at Crystal Palace last night. My girl wasn't a show dancer, and for 1500 and single ladies drinks, she certainly hit the spot.
There are some HOTTIES in the show, but also Koreans slinging double ladies drinks at them like it's a contest about how many they can buy.
Don't know why there's no actual Crystal Palace listing? This place hasn't been Heartbreaker for at lest 2+ years?
Of course there's still some active "Ayers Rock" listing?

Crystal Palace is a nice place to take a barfinea and get wasted drunk - free popcorn, nice plush couch chairs, beautiful ladies, and then just a 90 second walk back to Central Park or Pacific Breeze... \m/
