Hours: 2:00pm to Midnight
Prices: 1800 baht Fish Bowl, 2000 baht VIP

Directions: Mona Lisa is east of New Petchaburi Road and Asoke intersection. From there just travel east along New Petchaburi Road. Both the Siam Hotel and Mona Lisa are located on the north side of New Petchaburi. Get out at the Siam Hotel and when the taxi leaves walk over to Mona Lisa.

Note: Mona Lisa does pay the taxi commission and tout. The taxi drivers are well aware of the "take me to the Siam Hotel" trick so make sure they don't double back for their commission. There is also another smaller massage parlor on the second floor of Mona Lisa called Monika's.

The Mona lisa is top notch. Huge selection great service. Don't pay more than 2000 bhat, just tell them that's what you allways pay. It's the classic have a Singha and look through the glass at a sea of beauties and decide while you have your beer. Take your time it can be overwhelming.

Thanks for the tip. Can you post directions or an address for this place?

Tell any taxi guy you want to go to the Japanese Embassy. He may look at you like your crazy but this is the best bet. Get out of the taxi at the security gate. Near the security gate is a foot bridge. This foot bridge goes over the street which leads almost directly into the Mona Lisa parking lot.

If you tell a taxi to take you to Mona Lisa he will get a cut.

This is what I have done many times. I'm sure there are more efficient ways.

Problem I have with Mona Lisa is the bus stop at the intersection. Usually there are about 100 people standing in the bus stop. There will be 200 eyes watching this sex crazed tourist without a car crossing the street and walk into this huge parking lot to enter Mona Lisa. I actually avoid Mona Lisa because of this.

Heck, that sounds like a pretty good reason TO do it. Flaunt your freedom to do what you want in a location where it won't come back to haunt you later.

Yes, the bus stop is a turn-off. I just cross the foot bridge and go through the parking lot, not making eye contact with anyone.
What the heck, I have not found a better alternative for avoiding a taxi fee tacked on to my bill at Mona Lisa.

Talking about all those eyes staring at you at the bus station, how about all those pretty girls staring at you once you enter? Geez, everywhere you turn, smiles and winks and kisses, makes you feel special but also sort of shy too, at least for me.

The Mona Lisa is one of those MPs that's touted by every taxi and tuk tuk driver in Bangkok. I decided to give it a try without paying the taxi driver's kickback. I looked at the map and noticed it was next to the Siam Hotel. I hailed a taxi, showed him the map of Bangkok and pointed out the Siam Hotel.

After the taxi driver dropped me off at the Siam Hotel and drove away, I walked over to the Mona Lisa. I had no problem finding it. The Mona Lisa has a huge sign out front with a big parking lot. I arrived there shortly before 7:00 pm. The parking lot was nearly empty. The Mona Lisa's "fish bowl" is smaller than what I expected. It has no comfortable seating area where you can relax and make a selection. You have to make your selection standing up or pacing in front of the fish bowl.

The fish bowl is divided between the soapy massage girls and the superstars. There were about 15 girls in the soapy massage section and 10 in the superstar section. This was the first MP that I've ever been in that I thought there was a distinct difference in the appearance between the soapy massage girls and the superstars. Nevetheless, I opted for a soapy massage girl.

Before making my selection, I asked the host about the charge. He quoted 2,000 baht. I balked. He then asked me how much I wanted to pay. I said 1,500 baht. He countered with 1,600 baht. I agreed.

In my opinion, the quantity and quality of the soapy massage girls at Mona Lisa is comparable to CP2. I did find them a bit older and a bit heavier than I preferred.

The soapy massage girl that I selected had the push-up bra that gives the impression that she has big tits. She didn't. She had a cute face and a nice smile; however, after she came out from behind the fish bowl, she didn't look that great. She also had a stocky body. She claimed her body appearance was from "too much exercise" from doing massages all day. I got to admit, she was strong and gave me the most physical soapy massage that I ever had. She also had a very bushy pussy that needed to be trimmed with a weedwhacker.

My only real complaint about this particular visit was that she was a real chatterbox. When she found out that I knew a little Japanese, I couldn't get her to stop talking. She did give me some interesting insight into her life, the life of a soapy massage girl and the men who frequent the Mona Lisa. It was probably more than I wanted to hear.

According to my soapy massage girl, the Mona Lisa's number one customers are the Japanese, then the Chinese, followed by Thai men. The Thai men visit on weekends and holidays.

Afterwards, I walked up the street to Soi Cowboy. It's a brisk 20-minute walk away.

Would I return back to the Mona Lisa? I'm still undecided on that question.

(Review based upon a visit in May 2002.)

Dear Yujin,

It would be very much appreciated if you could post a picture of the pretty girls.

I recently was able to stop by Bangkok for two nights on my way to
Vietnam.

By way of a price update, here is what I found: On the first night I
visited one of the top class massage parlors that is mentioned in one
of the FAQS, the "Monalisa". While the FAQ had mentioned a typical
price of USD100 for "the works" at such an establishment, I was
somewhat dismayed to find that the Works is now more like USD300, even
after some haggling. There was a less expensive alternative which
involved ladies sitting in another room who were decidedly less
attractive, physically speaking, and even with them the service was
"limited". The bad news is that the quote on the B model was USD200!
I did happen to notice that while the place was quite
busy, I was the only occidental in sight. The clientele was clearly
Asian men. Perhaps this would account for the price inflation. The
lady I finally selected was gorgeous, but she had a bit of an
attitude. She knew exactly how gorgeous she was. It was fun, anyway,
and probably worth the price. I did ask the bellman at the hotel the
next morning and he said the price sounded about right for "high class
Bangkok girls". He said there are places with nice girls from the
north" which are cheaper, but I never followed up on that angle.

Never been to Mona Lisa, but FINE soapies can be found all over Bangkok for under $50USD.

Pretty small place with a medium-sized fishbowl. Girls to the right for 3,000 baht and girls to the left 2,500. I did not think the girls on the right were that attractive (light-skinned Chinese look) but there were some very attractive girls on the left. Picked one and had an excellent time. The rooms are pretty nice (very similar to CP2).

Well, I finally encountered the touts loitering in front of the Mona Lisa Massage. If you get dropped off at the Siam hotel, you can avoid the touts and the high prices. If you walk to Mona Lisa on New Petchaburi (from near Prince), you will certainly encounter at least 3 or 4 of these touts. This place was packed, and I did notice some girls from Atami there as I was told. Some of the Atami Mamasans are there also. Excellent selection, between 30-40 girls in the afternoon and a few that looked kind of young. There were a couple of breathtaking SuperStars.
