There's a nice resort on Mactan with the name Plantation....... very expensive. Please try to determine if this is what they're referring to.
Never heard of Plantation island.

stayed at plantation in february for two weeks-is expensive at tourists rates.my girl friend got it for $65 a day.service is excellent and exchange rate for money and travelers checks is good.a little out of the way on mactan island but is worth it.lots of gro's places close to it on mactan.make sure you get the lagoon side rooms.no problem with bringing girls there.you might be able to bargin on room rates as they always have vacate rooms.room service is expensive but fast and efficient.marlargo is cheaper but always full.would try that first.good luck

The place is called Plantation Bay, located on Mactan Island (Cebu), not called plantation Island
. To learn about the availability of P4P there, one should research Mactan Island, Cebu. There are other resorts on this island, and I have been to one of them only (Shangri-La).
Here is a link to plantation Bay: http://www.plantationbay.com/Index.html
As stated in earlier posts, there are enough bars with GRO's on Mactan Island to keep one happy for an average vacation stay of 7-10 days (maybe). There are obviously more venues in Cebu city itsels, just 10-20 min away by taxi.
***CAUTION/INTEREST*** - When on Mactan Island...when travelling to and from Cebu (taxi) during the night, you will see several makeshift, open-air discos along the side of the road. Disco lights, loud misic, lots of brown bodies moving to the rythms played. I was very interested in this scene, but I was told that as a foreigner, I would not be safe in that environment. Local and drunk pinoys might become offended at a foreigner plucking a native LBFM from his clutches, and proceed to push the issue. I am an adventurer, and usually don't allow such a caution to keep me from new and exciting experiences, however I would proceed with caution. I have not ventured into any of these places...yet. I will, but I will wait until I can secure a trusted male guide/friend to accompany me. IF ANYONE HAS ALREADY VENTURED INTO THESE PLACES, PLEASE POST ON YOUR EXPERIENCES. I am very interested.

There is plenty of fun to be had in Cebu without going to a "locals" bar. In AC there is the Skyway disco that caters to the locals and there is always a fight or a stabbing happening there. Sounds like trouble waiting to happen. Try the St. Moritz hotel in Cebu. Lots of go-go dancers for a reasonable price!

Hi, I know Mactan Island quite well, but have never ventured on the eastern side, close to Plantation bay. The GRO bars you are speaking about are Cadillac Cafe' and MB's Tavern ? Close to the two bridges to Cebu I could find Blue Line, Mermaid Club and Tarzan Boy - any other suggestions worth visiting ?

I went to a makeshift-open air disco in front of Sunflower disco bar. I was the only foreigner there. The staff was exceptionally polite, and the crowd seemed mellow and relaxed. Safety factor was higher than downtown Cebu. The biggest danger, as anywhere in phils, is pickpockets.

One more comment, cebuanos in general are very different from people in luzon (especially manila and pampanga). In general, cebuano men are NOT pissed to see foreigners with their girls (although they will make fun, beware!), and many will willingly offer to make introductions in hopes of scoring a free red horse or brownie points with the girl. Especially if non-asian and alone, most will also respect you for walking into one of their places. I would say the danger factor in any native cebuano places is close to 0, unless you are an asshole and make someone lose face. Don't preach, don't judge, smile the most insincere of smiles, and you'll be well accepted and protected.
Please note that this advice does NOT apply anywhere in Luzon as far as I can tell.

i stood here in march 08, the rooms are very nice, price was about 160-175 a night u.s. but the place is a great experience. they have these swim up rooms that run about 200 a night. although all these prices are nuts for p.i. , its something you do once. the bad part is trying to get a cab out of the place, sometimes it takes a while. i'll post some pics
