I think there are 2 discos in Pattaya named Marine. Marine 1 and Marine 2. Marine 1 is in Walking street, on the 1st floor of a complex with a ladyboy bar on the ground floor. It closes down at 2 o’clock and then Marine 2 takes over. I had a lot of fun in this disco concerning girls and music. The sound is not very loud and there are a lot of girls inside most of the nights. But one night it was really empty I don’t know why. All the girls are freelancers but the quality is average. In other words, they cannot match the quality of the good looking girls in go-go bars but the place has a lot of them so this is a plus. You don’t have to pay an entrance fee so you can go in, take a quick round, grab a girl and leave without ordering a drink (but you must be quick because the servants are waiting like vultures!). I have never been to Marine 2 but I have heard that almost all the girls who haven’t found a customer go there to get another chance.

On the main "Walking Street" this place just oozes sexual energy and has about an 8-1 ratio of women to men - it only gets going about 2 o'clock when all the bar workers get off work and those that have not found a punter come down looking for one. The music is dance/techno orientated, the nightly rate for each depends on the girl but generally £20 per night - twosomes and threesomes not a problem. Some hotels charge a £5 fee to let the girl stay. There used to be a lot of drugs in there but the Police have cracked down on that now.

The real ratio of women to men is about 4 to 1 once you subtract the Katoeys. Marine Disco probably has the largest collection of katoeys in all of Thailand-- including Alcazar and Tiffanys !!!! 90% of them are hideous creatures and obvious but there are more than a few stealth katoeys there. In the dim light you could make a BIG mistake.
