There is just a little bit of information I could find on this board about Phi Phi. It sounds like a wonderful place to take your girl for a couple of three days. ;) Any info anyone could provide further about Phi Phi would be greatly appreciated. - Thanks, Rasta.

Also, if anyone has a recent review or rate for the Phi Phi Tonsai Village Resort, that would be appreciated. I found a report about them, but the price in the report for the rooms was much lower than the prices I have found on the web. Comments or advise on this would be appreciated. Thanks, Rasta.

The more I read about Phi Phi, the more I like it. I think I might want to take a girl and spend Christmas Eve and Christmas Day there. Anybody care to comment on Phi Phi and the Tonsai Village Resort? If not, I'll be sure post my reports (but you'll all have to wait until December). - Rasta

I have spent some time there and it's incredibly beautiful. Yu absolutely must take a girl with you because the pickin's are slim to none.

I'm not sure about Tonsai Resort but check the web and I have allways made arrangements through Thai travel agents and got substantial discounts on ferrys, shuttles, lodging etc. Enjoy its paradise.

Wombat's take on Phi Phi

Yes, it's a beautiful island, but it's really become a tourist resort. You won't find many (if any) Thai tourists there. Farangs fill every vacant hotel room, every bar and restaurant. In fact, they pretty much outnumber the local islanders. Most of the Farang tourists are in their 20's. The outlying resorts are pretty much self contained and cater to a slightly older crowd (a crowd with more money).

Prices tend toward the high end for just about everything. It's still affordable, but it sure isn't cheap.

If you're into diving (scuba or snorkle), the waters are amazing. If you're into sanuking, you'd better bring your own as I was unable to find any lady houses (not that I'm very good at finding brothels, but I've heard from other sources that a single guy is a lonely guy on Phi Phi, if you know what I mean).

Hey folks. I spent my last week in Thailand in Koh Phi Phi. It was perfect! But there is no mongering scene at all (as far as I can tell). You can probabally get some for free, just go to Reggae bar and try to pick up a horny 20 something european chick.

I went with a girl I met in Phuket (she worked at a hotel.... not one of those girls ) We had a great time. yes it is a little more expensive, my bungalow was 1000 bhat/night with no AC, but an awesome pool. ko phi phi has recovered from the dec 2004 tsunami. lots of tourists, boat traffic, commercialism on the small overcrowded beaches. it aint bora bora but still worth a visit particularly maya bay & pileh lagoon (by boat only) in phi phi lay, the south island (phi phi don is the north island). didnt see any visible p4p.

phuket & krabi have boats to ko phi phi, 300b & 250b 1-way respectively. 1.5 hrs. many boat day tours available such as this www.baracudastourkrabi.com
