It cost us 800 baht to charter a longtail for a half-day visit to Kai Kai. The island is noted for its protected half moon lagoon and excellent snorkling.
This is a day-island only. I think its part of the Thai national park system just like the lower Phi Phi island.
This is what is on the other side of the big Railay limestone massif:
Koh Kai is actually 2 islands joined by a huge sand bar. We covered both islands in about 2 hrs of walking.

I was quite green with envy when we passed this daysailor:
The small island has a little snack hut that you can see in the pic. Unfortunately we didn't snorkel so I can't tell you about the reef.
