I stayed at Estiny Place for 1 week on my last trip to Pattaya. And found it to be a good hotel at the mid range (Pattaya) price. Great service and decent food.
Location Soi 8 one block off Pataya 2 road.
Cost: 700 B per night. About $15.50 USD
Service: A+ Best service I have recieved in Thailand. Example... Came home one night late and the restraunt was closed, the door man asked what we wanted and he went and got it for us and delivered it to the room in just a few minutes.
Amenities: Large room, new construction, nice swimming pool, quiet. And good location if you like Soi 7 and 8 area.

The website's author says this about Eastiny:
"NOTE: I understand management has changed a number of times since my visit in September 1999 and for the worse. There are reports of unfriendly management and service people and the special deal relationship has been dropped by Pattaya Pete. I am considering other hotels for next trip. Possibly near by Flipper and welcome reviews by others that have been at Filipper to compare to Eastiny."
It looks as if Scooter's experience with them last month was a good one, which makes me feel better about booking 10 nights with them. Am I correct in my assumptions, gentlemen?

I always stay at Eastiny. True that they have change ownership a few times. Everyone's tolerance on hotel room is different. There are hotels with good reviews which I found are shit holes. My only advice is to look for yourself. Check the room out first. DO NOT pre-pay the 10 days reservation. Pay for a couple of days or whatever. I also checked out flipper (great reviews) and I didn't like it.
On my first trip to Pattaya a number of years back, I went to the PRince hotel which is next to Eastiny. Cost is only 500 baht and the internet picture showed a 3 star hotel room. I couldn't stand the place. I didn't spent 16 hours on a plane to sleep in a dump. I prepay and wound up having to lose 2 nights rent and spent a couple of hours arguing with the hotel staff. However, they are guests who are perfectly happy with the hotel.

My mistake. There are 2 eastiny. I believe the one Scotter refers to is the newer one which is cheaper. I never went there. You might want to check out both.

Who was this Pattaya Pete guy? An ex-pat?
Pattaya Pete has a bar in town.
Check out that links list, here, on Club Hombre. There is a HUGE list, and I believe that PP is listed there.

Pattaya Pete runs the FLB on Walking Street. Big flashy place frequented by lots of expats. Until resently he had a very fine "members only" board but has shut it down due to ranting, raving and flaming of a few who refuse to believe that the world turns and that the "golden" days of Pattaya (to them) are gone.
web address of bar is www.freelancer.com still a messages board and some fine reviews of hotels, restarants and the like ...

Just reserved eight nights at Eastin. Got a Junior Executive Suite on the 4th floor including breakfast for 1500B/day. Not too shabby. At the risk of repeating myself, I cannot fucking WAIT for this trip.

I've tried, for a couple of days now, to find an email address or web site where I can make reservations at the Eastiny Place. Can anybody help me out with an email address or whatever?

Rastman,
Thanks for the links. I think Archie found the second one yesterday. McDIJJ was kind enough to email me with an email address that he said should get me reservations. I sent an email out this AM. I'll give it a couple days and if I get no response I have Scooter there to book us a couple of rooms... Thanks again all

stayed here last month. very much enjoyed this place. One thing to be aware of is that as it is on soi 8 it is in the middle of the action. as other's post, it really can be a problem with your previous night's girl. I know this sounds funny but it is true.
I stayed 3 nights at eastiny place located on soi 8 very close to 2nd road though not exactly the Landmark Bangkok i was still very pleased rate in june was 800 baht, room and bathroom was clean with decent ac also if you are nightwalkers like me then staying on soi 8 is a must the bars never close on this soi needless to say i had a great time.
p.s must say though although i had no problem my friend in the next room kept losing money and was adament it was being taken by housekeeping (just dont leave money in the room put it in the safe at reception)
p.p.s on a down side there was no iron available, you have to go to the launderette during the day.

How is the noise factor at Eastiny, Will it be hard to get some quiet sleep?
when booking just ask for a room on a high floor, though anywhere in the hotel isnt that noisy
hotel is fairly decent for sleeping, as in not much noise and thick curtains making the room very dark.
