This hotel is promoted on flb, with a half-off special for net bookings. Looks great! Has anyone stayed there?

By Mcdijj on Saturday, January 19, 2002 - 10:28 pm:  Edit

How about a follow up, Indy? I saw that special. A suite there is only 300 baht more a day than what I have been quoted at Eastiny ... didn't you mention that you are staying there now?

By Indyla on Sunday, January 20, 2002 - 01:46 am:  Edit

I did check out a number of big name hotels, including the Penthouse, Eastiny Hotel (both of them) and the Marriott. I was willing to pay the Marriott price if I saw it was out of this world. It wasn't. For condo-style living, the Residence Garden is a true suite with no noise from the zona. A 20B ride into the zona is very convenient, and if you've ever stayed at a timeshare, you know of the huge difference between hotels and condos.

They told me their rate was now 2000, but offered me the 1300 rate after a few exchanged smiles.

I will post a few report upon return and cessation of Thai pussy withdrawal symptoms.

By Blazers on Thursday, April 25, 2002 - 01:02 pm:  Edit

Stayed their for two nights. Price was 1300 baht a night. Rooms were very modern and new. Rooms contain large closet and safe. Small kitchen with stove, fridge and appliances. Living room with couches and chairs. Balcony with table and chair for two along with great views. Pool is very nice. Breakfast is decent there.

Restaurant attached named "Captains Corner" which has a Barbecue Buffet for about $6. You can ask them to cook any of the seafood or steaks that they have available. You can eat three steaks, crab legs, whatever you want....for the same price. Many of the girls whom work at the breakfast cafe are very hot. One of them asked me to go to eat som tum in Jomtien...shoulda went.

Some more information for you guys - The place is only about 18 months old and run by a guy called Ib Ottesen who is a nice guy also. He drinks B52's and other shooters like the Scandawegian that he is. The Residence Garden Suites are really comfortable and quiet and yet only 5 or 10 minutes from Walking Street. It is very TG friendly and I have stayed there on three seperate occasions and the security guards do not even ask for ID. The beds are ample size even for a three up and I am over 6'4" so I need the size. Seperate A/C for lounge and bedroom, full sized fridge readily stocked with beers for you and the food really is good, especially the all-you-can-eat buffet. For anyone that wants to know, Ib also runs a company building the Hans Christian Andersen Yachts and his buddie runs Rainbow Diving.
Anything anybody wants to know about the place, just ask.

Do the rooms have phone lines that call out side the hotel?

By Skipperk on Friday, May 03, 2002 - 10:52 pm:  Edit

Scooter,

Sorry for the delay - yes the phones are linked for full international access and from what I remember they have a modem jack for laptop access also. They may want a swipe of the cc as guarantee but Ib is a good guy anyway. If you want to use Internet, there is an I/net Cafe virtually next door to the hotel.

Gitano,

If you want to email the owner directly at the hotel, try: ottesen@loxinfo.co.th That is Ib Ottesen's email and he is the owner. Tell him you were trying to book thru FLB site and he will give you the right rate.

Thanks for the info. I was really looking hard for a place with a safe as I am bringing my brand new laptop with me.

Arriving in BKK (hopefully) on 26june, will spend a few days (and nights) there and then will head out to explore pattaya until the 8jul. Back to BKK to do a few chores and then (SOB!) head on home.

Gonna make this as good as I can without waking up married.

Has anybody stayed at this hotel recently? The price seems very reasonable at 1350 baht is is fairly close to FL bar and walking street.

By Khun_mor on Wednesday, December 15, 2004 - 09:57 pm:  Edit

It's not as close as you think. Not really walking distance to Walking Street. You have to get a Baht bus of your own to get there. Cannot just jump on one for 10 baht. Gotta negotiate a price for trip. Also many drivers have never heard of it.

By Coconuts on Wednesday, December 15, 2004 - 10:14 pm:  Edit

Khun Mor,

Any recommendations for an above average hotel closer to the action? Or in central pattaya? I have looked at Montien and prices are around $70 a night. Would also consider a hotel in the $30-$50 price range. Thanks again.

Sandy Springs on Soi 13?

By Khun_mor on Thursday, December 16, 2004 - 07:59 pm:  Edit

Porker
I think I'll buy the Sandy Spring then I'd get something back for my recommendations.
Residence Garden is a great place to stay. I just think it's not an easy place in terms of travelling back and forth to the action.

In the $30-$50 price range I don't think there is a cleaner, quieter, guest friendly hotel in Pattaya. What would you suggest as a better alternative ?
Ask Don Marco about the difference in rooms between SS and Flipper Lodge.

By Whoretester on Thursday, December 16, 2004 - 10:38 pm:  Edit

Khun_mor,

I never had to negotiate a price from the hotel to the action. Just jump on and flip the guy 10 or 20 Baht when you get off. Remember, if you ask how much, you're just asking to be overpriced. If you hand them money and then ask if it is enough, it never will be.

By Porker on Thursday, December 16, 2004 - 10:46 pm:  Edit

WT, that works along the established baht bus routes when catching one already in motion, but I think KM is saying that the RG is off the beaten path and that, in effect, you're converting the shared transport into a private taxi. If YOU can get that for 10-20 baht, good for you, but from what I've heard, the going farang with rented pooying rate is 'up to HIM'?

By Whoretester on Friday, December 17, 2004 - 10:10 pm:  Edit

Porker,

I don't know how much baht mini-truck (not a bus or taxi) traffic makes a street on the beaten path, but I only have to wait 3 minutes for one to come by, in front of the RG. Flag him down, hop on, hop off, flip a 10 or 20. I know what you are saying about farang rates with chicas, but I just haven't had the problem he described.

By Khun_mor on Friday, December 17, 2004 - 10:54 pm:  Edit

The problem is more going back to hotel. You cannot just jump in any songtaew and expect they are going in that direction. Therefore you must talk to the slime driving the vehicle to find out if he can take you there. Anytime you have to interact with these vermin you are asking for trouble.
In my experience half of the drivers had never heard of Res Garden. You gotta know the directions or take the taxi card in Thai for the retard driving the bahtbus. Many would ask for 30-50 baht to take the trip and refuse less. I can't believe it's changed that much in a few years.

By Whoretester on Saturday, December 18, 2004 - 10:19 pm:  Edit

Khun_mor,

Agreed that interacting with them is trouble. I don't. I simply walk by, name my hotel and street, hop on and drop the coin when he stops at the RG. If the guy pleads ignorance, I give him a RG business card.

30-50 baht is a gouge for the farang. I do not negotiate fares. I give them what I want when I hop off.

By Javaj on Tuesday, November 15, 2005 - 12:30 am:  Edit

Looks like they are finally getting internet service setup here. It's wireless and at the moment you have to use a USB key to get it. Still for 700B for a week its a nice feature.

Plans are in works to allow a login/password using your own wireless card. Currently I'm showing connection at 48mbps.

I like the place and have had no trouble grabbing the baht bus home. If you get one in the right lane (turn lane) as they move from beach road to second road by walking street you're in business. 10B is the fare... bus will pass right by the place.

I'm really scraping the bottom of the barrel looking for a room in pattaya. I'm thinking of just foregoing NYE in pattaya... Afterall, I can always shuttle in my one of my harem as desired.

I've spent 2 holiday seasons in LoS and I never recall it quite this bad in terms of getting a room!

By Buick on Wednesday, November 29, 2006 - 02:32 pm:  Edit

i stayed here for 10 days in sept. then moved on to bella villa prima, sawasdee seaview, whitehouse condotel, and back to bella villa prima. i think i paid 1,600B/nt and they may have charged another 100B for in-room internet. there were a couple of storms that rolled through while i was there and the internet got knocked out a few times. they never charged for it since it was on and off. when it was on it worked pretty good.

had separate bedroom with TV's in both rooms. cable, not UBC. food was not real good although the breakfast was quite tasty. had real bacon (not back bacon/ham) along with eggs and nice quality potatoes. not included in room rate though. staff was friendly. pool was nice. no fitness center.

i liked the other places i stayed because food was a bit easier to obtain. here, i walked up the hill towards jomtien and found a few spots. otherwise, headed into town to eat. did do the captains corner BBQ and that was pretty solid but couldn't do that more than every other day.

getting to/from walking street wasn't all that tough. just got the baht taxi and rode down onto second rd. got off at one of the alleys that runs down into walking street. sometimes the traffic was pretty heavy and you could almost walk in the same amount of time. i walked several times from the hotel and took less than 15 minutes to get to walking street.

to get home, just walk up one of the alleys off walking street towards second rd and get in the baht taxi. they are all going to jomtien. i never had to talk with a driver going to or from the hotel/walking street. just got in, rang the bell when i wanted to stop, and paid 10B.

a couple times i took a moto taxi home from the taxi stand next to P72 (across from lucifers disco), that got me and my gal back to the hotel in about two minutes. sometimes for 20B apiece, sometimes 40B apiece. the moto taxi's did not know the hotel. i told them to go towards jomtien and then pointed to hotel as we got close.

i only took one girl back at a time so not sure if they charge extra for two. if you like two gals, this is a pretty good choice since the rooms are large. you've got some room to move around a bit. i don't need the separate bedroom and seems like you pay an extra 300B or so for this amenity.

By Mano_poderosa on Friday, December 01, 2006 - 02:17 am:  Edit

I stayed here once, three or four years ago. I didn't care for the location, but the room was pretty good and I liked the balcony. As I recall, we had three girls in the room one night and were not charged anything extra...again this was three or four years ago, so policies may have changed. I prefer to stay somewhere closer to the action and think that you can get similar value alot closer to Walking Street, but, all in all, this place is not a bad choice.

Manos.

By Gurock1 on Thursday, December 07, 2006 - 06:51 am:  Edit

I stayed there in March of 2006 and I promised never to return. The location is a little bad. I can live with that. I rent a motorbike and location is not that important. The room they gave me was pretty good, but the furnishings were a little old. The internet was spotty. They gave Happy Monger a room down the hall with two twin beds and wouldn't change it for him. I thought that was a little tacky. The didn't mind multiple girls.

Now on to why I would never stay there again. On my last night at 4:00 A.M. when I need to finish my check out and get in the car to catch the plane home they said their credit card machine broke. They didn't want to take my credit card and asked for cash. I didn't have three weeks bill (about $750.00 US) on me in Thai Baht. They wanted me to go to a cash station. I told them I need to go to the airport and had no time for this, and my card wouldn't give that much at one time. I asked them to take an imprint of my card and run it when their system was up. They threatened to call the police. Then I offered to pay with US dollars. They then wanted to agree taking my dollars at about 90% of the going exchange rate. Remember that all this is going on while I'm looking at my watch worried about making my flight two hours drive away. I told them go ahead call the police but I'm not changing dollars at that rate just because you claim your credit card machine broke. Finally they agreed to split the difference on the exchange and I agreed to be ripped off out of about $40.00 US to get in the car and have a chance at making my flight. I promised them that they would never see me or any friend of mine again.

I thought I'd include a pic of the twosome girls. I thought they were looking good although the photo doesn't do them justice. Their best attribute was the good attitude they brought with them.

Photo: Twosome

This argument took forty minutes and made me miserable. The night up to then had been great. I had barfined two of the best Happy GoGo girls that I'd ever had and I'd cut my time close to spend all the time I could in bed with them. No one should be held up like that. Also not everyone is carrying a couple thousand US dollars in emergency money.

If I met those trash people again I'd spit in their face.

This is the Residence Garden Section under Pattaya Hotels, I think. I think I never posted this story because I thought I'd get off my lazy butt and write a trip report about my March trip one day. It's a little embarrassing that I never finished my trip report about my January 2006 trip, only posting the Hong Kong and Philippine part. I never wrote a March trip report, May 2006 trip and September 2006 trip.

Now I'm ten days from my December, January trip and still this behind. For the mean time maybe I should add a few more pictures.

Photo: Soi 6 Girl

The first pic is of two girls I brought back from Paris Gogo to Residence Garden during my March 2006 trip. The second girls was from Taitian Queen in my March 2006 trip for a short time. She claimed that she liked to smoke and she drained me of bodily fluid until I had nothing left to give. I think she spent ninety percent of the time in my room doing one of the best bbbjs I ever had. The first pic was three Soi 7 girls I was playing with in my January trip, but I only barfined the one on the right as she wanted to go bad and the middle one claimed to have prior engagements lined up. The last pic was a girl from one of the Soi 6 bars that went with me short time to Residence Garden in my March trip. She was willing to do any position I could imagine.

Gurock, that's a messed up situation, and had it been me, I'd have been more than a bit freaked out about that too. There's a lesson there, though -- taking care of 3 week's worth of hotel bills at 4 AM is probably not the best idea in the world in just about ANY hotel/location, much less in a 3rd world country where English is usually iffy at best. Costs you NOTHING to settle the bill by early evening before you check out, paying only for last minute mini bar items when you hand over the key prior to departure. I would also imagine that the daytime desk clerk is often more competent and that the availability of management is better than the wee hours!

By Phoenixguy on Monday, December 11, 2006 - 08:29 pm:  Edit

Here I was planning to try and spend more time on Soi 6 on my upcoming trip. Now I'm going to have to walk over and check out Soi 7 more thoroughly!

By Gurock1 on Tuesday, December 12, 2006 - 08:39 pm:  Edit

Porker, how right you are. After that experience I've always done just what you said. I live and learn. Until the last year I don't think I had enough of a third world mind set. Also my prior Thai trips to that time were spent staying at the President Solitaire and the Sandy Springs. These are both class operations. The Residence Garden is not a class operation. Even so I pay my bill down as the trip goes on and pay the final off in the day time except for any last mini-bar or room service.

Blazers, I did a bad thing with those girls. I offered them some paltry sum like 300 baht extra if they would agree to an hour modeling session at the end of my time with them. I had this almost new FUJI SLR Camera (5200) and I wanted to try it out. I took the more slag looking girl because I thought the one you mentioned looked that hot. I must have taken over fifty pics of those girls. I know the evil of offering a tip for pics. If you do it often the girls will start expecting and or asking for the tip. I think its the only time I ever did it in Thailand out of what is now about four months that I've spent there.
Here are some more

Photos: Paris Gogo 2some 01 02 03

I never got to do that hot girl in the pink from Soi 7. Shame on me. I ended up with the OK girl in the blue dress instead. Sometimes nights take on their own turns. BTW I thought that girl in pink was hotter than her pic if that is possible and was willing to do a lot to bed her, but it just wasn't to be.

From my view Soi 6 is best for the girls willing to just go along with your wild hard core fantasy, budget adding of numbers, or your times of quirky attitudes. Like the Bus Stop girl who almost grabbed me off the motor bike so she could give me a sample BBBJ eight feet into the bar. Soi 7 and 8 are fun when you want to kick back, play some pool and have drinks.

There are diamonds in the rough on Soi 7 and 8 but performance will be more of an issue. This girl was one of the best performers I ever took back to the room. She was the best friend from the same village as my Living Dolls I girl of many nights and she caught me the night after the break up. We had ten shots of Tequila each before she believed that I was done with her best friend. But once she believed me she rocked my world. She was not insanely hot looking, but she brought the best attitude I've ever experienced with her. Something like being caught by the ultimate Nympho for a night. She was from the same March trip.

I stayed at the REsidence Gardens many times in the past with no problems, the only reason I decided to change venues ( I now stay on Soi 13) was the location, it is harder to get to Walking st and baht bus will charge extra at nite to go there. I did always like the place though, and the sister hotel Jomtien BoatHouse in Jomtien. I havent stayed there in a few years though, I hope things havent degenerated that much. Mojoman69

By Porker on Wednesday, December 13, 2006 - 01:06 pm:  Edit

Ditto re: moving most of this to a more appropriate place. This is good stuff, Gurock, please keep it coming.

Phxguy, Gurock, let me take a guess at what happened with the Soi 7 hottie, and why Gurock didn't bang her: The beer bar complexes on Soi 7 & 8 ALL seem to have ONE really hot girl. Invariably, they put them to their optimal use as dorrgirls. Good door girls that are even halfway good looking can get you to come in and have a drink. But on Soi 7 and 8, they ALL SEEM to have better things to do than sit with you for any length of time, much less barfine. And what you're generally left with are aging, kangaroo-pouched mommies who know that if you get drunk ENOUGH that this might be their lucky night. The ultimate bait and switch.

By Gurock1 on Wednesday, December 13, 2006 - 06:35 pm:  Edit

Blazers, I just resent the Paris girls and Soi 8 photos and asked to add them.

Mojo, I think that lots of hotels seem good when nothing goes wrong. Good hotels make things good when something has gone wrong. I agree that Soi 13 is a great location, which is part of why I prefer Sandy Spring. Location doesn't mean that much to me as I rent the motorbike and love it. I also have the small kink that I like the girls boobs bouncing into my back when I stop on the motorbike.

Porker I think you are right some of the time on Soi 7 and 8. I do think that sometimes either a girl doesn't like me or more common that the girl has a favorite who she thinks is coming for her that night and turns me away on that hope, (especially a true hot girl like I think the girl in the pink top is). The one I did that night in the blue dress wasn't a fuglie, she just wasn't in the league of the girl in the pink top.

Guys I know that this thread took on a life of it's own away from the hotel comment. I also know that I should have written a trip report in March. Now I leave for LOS on Monday, but will do what I can. In the mean time I'll give you another photo and point out what's wrong with adding these things many months later.

This girl comes from TQ on Beach Road by my best recollection. I can tell by the back round that it's daytime in my bedroom at Residence Garden. i know that in the second half of my March trip, after Happy Monger went home I spent some afternoons at TQ for fondling, drinking and general bargirl chasing. Happy Monger didn't care for this that much, as he is more of a buy the girl a drink, interview and barfine or not type. he tends to think that I'm a fool with money when I go on binges buying ten or more lady drinks. I'm pretty sure that's where I got her. However I don't remember much more about her and I really like this picture.

It is a long term place and he swears by it. It is across the soi from the Sandy Springs. Too bad about the Residence Garden, but, there are certainly lots of venues in pattaya to bother with a bad apple. Mojo.

Blazers, I thought I'd give you a more close up view of the fake tits since you are a fake tit fan. Insert (paris6.jpg). Since I have been having a lot of fun with this thread, even though I know again it doesn't belong here, I thought I'd put in a few more pictures. I'm sending up another view of the girl in pink because she was a dream of mine Insert (pink_top.jpg). I also thought I'd send up pics of a different Soi 6 girl. One night on my March trip I went with Happy Monger to Soi 6, so he could find his regular Soi 6 girl. As I was riding down the street at a walking pace on the moto this girl lured me in to her bar. I don't remember which bar except it was on the right as I headed to Beach road and near to the Beach Road end of the street. When I bought her a drink and she had her skirt up at her waist sitting in my lap she agreed to Epi's old favorite the ATM and I thought to myself, how can I refuse. After the deed was done my cell rang and it was Happy Monger wanting to know what became of me. I told him I was done and would meet him shortly. The girl didn't want pics, but I told her good pics might lure Happy Monger in for a round. The pics you see are a result of that comment insert (soi6new.jpg and soi6new2.jpg).

Anyway time is running real short as it's Saturday afternoon and I leave for LOS on Monday morning. My thanks to all the hombres making comment in this thread. It's been a lot of fun going through pics to make these comments and get reved up for the new trip that way. BTW anyone who is in LOS from 12/19/06 to 1/15/07 and sends me a PM I'll be happy to buy a drink during fondling hours.
