Booked a hotel and ferry ride from Singapore to Batam with Penguin Travel at the Harborfront Center. Www.penguin.com.sg Ferry ride round trip, RT transfer between dock and hotel, one night at the Novatel was S$122 (US$68). There is a US$10 visa on arrival and is a full page sticker in your passport. There are 3 ports to dock at and if you arrive at Sekupang, when you enter the immigration area, turn around to find the Visa counter before you waste your time waiting in line.

Made the tour of all the bars, starting at Lucy’s Oarhouse (http://www.go.to/oarhouse) , the gogo bar called PP Banana, Ice Pub and every other place in town. Completely
Dead. Lucy’s had nobody on a Saturday at 4PM but I had a GREAT steak sandwich and the bartender was a little cutie. Smiling, precocious, very helpful. The gogo bar had 4 girls that were not too appealing so we moved on. Between 4 PM and 2 AM we hit every pub. The only ones that had any action at all were Red Cock and Ice Pub. For Bule (Non-Asians) the first place I recommend you call on is the NED - This is basically a 50 m long street lined with bars that having a ready supply of free lancers and agogo girls(Except a few that cater for the local Bule who wants some peace of mind).

One bar in particular that does'nt allow FL is Lucys Oarhouse but they make up for this by having PP Banana upstairs which is the only Agogo bar in Batam. Costs for girls in PP Banana's is a standard 300,000 rupiah LT and girls can be taken short time for 200,000 rupiah further upstairs. You can get tag team action with the grils by asking your favourite LBFM which friend they would like to bring with you to your room.

BTW if you want anything in particular in terms of types of girls, Viagra, Cialas or other non-regulatory substances ask for Marcel at the Lucy's bar and he will be able to help you out. He is great - Don't forget to tip though.

Leaving Lucy's you have Classic's next door which can get lively but I have not seen many FL in and next to that is Ice Pub. Of late the FL talent in Ice has been getting older but you can still find a good LBFM or two. Across the road in the long established Jungle the pickings are worse as the girls there are defiently in need of retirement.

Freelancers from these places can be had for 200,000 rupiah per night which is pretty standard across Batam(Even in the discos, but you can short time from disco's as low as 100,000 rupiah).

Next to the Jungle is Steps which does'nt allow FL's but does good if a little bit expensive food.

(For food check out the Nagoya and A1 Foodcourts which are great value and the Beer Pouring Girls can also be had for the right price)

Finally on NED Street you come to Steps which usualy has a good band and the place gets hopping. FL's tend to arrive late here before they hit the disco's and can be got from the standard 200,000 rupiah mark.

As for the rest of Batam there are KTV's, fishtanks, FL filled discos, gambling den care grils, beer pouring girls and short time whorehouse galore.

It's is the total dregs quality wise. I think the little pictorial I showed you of this past week's conquest should have cemented the fact that NED is an awful place (outside of PP) to hunt cewek (girls).

saw pretty big groups of aussies roaming around here and there. Strange to see since it's such a basic town, nagoya. The talent i'd say is about the same. some new thin girls, butterface.
