Dear Fellow Hombres,
I am going to LOS on July 12 and coming back home to the States the 29th.
I haven’t been to Thailand in a decade.
I plan to check out Phuket and see about living long-term living arrangements. Are there any reasonably priced apartments? Can one bargain down successfully on anything since tourism is so slow?
How are the clubs/bargirls there?
Are there any clubs like "Eden" down there?
Any place I should check out or avoid?
Any pertinent information would be welcome.
Thanks,
B

the go go bars worth visiting are rock hard, suzy wong, and devils playground. rock hard is corner of soi bangla and rat u tit rd. the other two are on soi sea dragon, a side soi off bangla.
not sure on current pricing, i think 1000 bar fine, 3000 short time, 5000 long time. some girls cant be barfined before midnight.
there are freelancers on bangla starting around midnight. and other girls working at beer bars on bangla. cheaper options than the go go girls.

johnny,
not sure where you are staying. patong has the best night action. but not a real nice beach (i'd skip karon beach also). if you go north to kamala or south to kata, those beaches are better. i really like nai harn but it is about 40 minutes south, a bit far but worth checking out if you are in phuket for a few weeks.
if you want to buy anything from the street vendors, be sure to bargain for the price. let's say you want to buy a shirt. they'll say 1,000thb but will likely accept 250thb. the rule i use is be willing to pay 25% of their initial offer. if you end up at 35% not too bad. i learned the hard way by overpaying a few times.

Thanks for the tip Buick,
I am staying at the Marriot vacation club. I am going on the arm and am sharing a 2 bedroom villa w a buddy. We will be on the lookout for fine talent. i didn't plan this, it just kinda fell in my lap.

johnny,
the marriott is a great property but in the worst location. it is really for couples on honeymoon, anniversary, bdays, etc... or corporate type events. i've been there twice for bday events for friends (married couples) who stayed there. i doubt you'll find any talent nearby, maybe a massage shop. it takes about 45 minutes to get to patong beach (talent central). but driving back at 3am in a taxi is risking your life. pitch black roads with drunks all over the place. girls from patong will not go all the way back to that hotel so you'll be doing short time in patong.
if i were you (and your buddy), i'd take a small bag and get a room in patong beach for two or three nights (after a night or two at the marriott). then retreat back to the marriott to recover for a few days. then do the same thing again when you are ready. decent rooms in patong can be had for less than $30usd. so paying for two hotels for part of the time won't be a big deal.

That sounds like a good idea. I will do my best to seek out local talent too , which is my specialty!
I am going to spend a few days in Bangkok to get warmed up before Phuket. Thanks for the tips!
