I only stayed one night here. The hotel is located in Ermita, just a few blocks away from Robinson's Mall and a freelancer disco and bar called LA Cafe, the best place for freelancers I could find in Manila.
This hotel is small with only six floor and is guest friendly. I showed up without reservations and got a standard room for 1300 pesos, approximately $25 US.
My room was small but decent. There was no safe, only safety deposit boxes at the front desk.
My only gripe, and it was a significant one, was that the one elevator smelled pretty nasty. I'm uncertain as to what kind of smell it was. It's possible that the halls and rooms smelled as well, it seemed a little off, but I'm not sure if it was just lingering from the elevator or if I got used to the smell after a few minutes.
I may give this place another shot in the future, but I think Heritage Hotel or Copacabana in Pasay City are probably better bets.
I did like the location here, though, it was nice having so much within walking distance.

Spent a few nights in the 1900 peso cheap-seat room that I reserved through asiatravel.com. Room is small but very clean. Bed is comfortable. Plenty of hot water. Staff are friendly. A basic breakfast is included in the room rate. My 3rd floor room faced Mabini Street, and the traffic noise was definitely evident.
My first night there, I brought a guest in during the wee, small hours of the morning. Security requested her ID to register her. She had no ID, so the guard just took down her name and address. Subsequent guests during the remainder of my stay were never asked to register.
This is their website: http://www.citygardenhotels.com/ I would stay there again if I could get a room with less street noise. Even with my hearing loss, I was awakened several times by the blaring of vehicles' horns.

I just realized that this was the hotel I stayed at the last time I was in Manila for a few days. I hadn't booked ahead and I told the taxi I wanted a really nice hotel. He brought me here. The lobby is quite nice and very upscale. The elevator and halls, less so. The rooms are basic but certainly decent. Clean, fresh. We walked around kind of lost one night but the area was hopping. Part nice. Part crap area. Definitely a decent place to stay. Not Park Avenue... but respectable.
