I enjoyed a 2 day stay at this hotel. I booked through http://www.asiatravel.com for a reduced room rate of $64, but it may have been better if I tried to get a deal by contacting them directly. They offer mileage credit for American Airlines and several others (don't recall which), but only if you reserve direct.

The rooms were excellent as was the location. Heritage is located in Pasay City, placing it very close to the domestic and international airports. The Copacabana is right down the street, and the EDSA International Entertainment complex is right across the street from that. ESDA is a go-go complex housing 8 go-go's, it is one of the best values in Manila for P4P(Pay 4 Play)

When you exit the hotel, a casino is located to your left. If you walk past the casino, you'll see a small side street. Walk down this street to get to a bunch of fast food restaurants. You'll also find several banks with ATM's, at least one of which should accept your card.

A sign in the elevator states that guests may not be allowed after 10pm, but I had no problem bringing girls in at any hour.

I think the Heritage hotel is overprice. just don't see why the charge of $64=. don't care about their so credit for airlines mileage. anyways, guess for newcomers and somebody who can't find his way in Manila is fine. also, in a city where foreigners are so high profile, you should better try not to call attention of the wrong crowd. the Ermita area has a few hotels that would suffice your needs. know even a couple of joints in Makati which are good for mongers.///

Re: overpriced, Heritage website says airport 4 KM away, price to/from airport FIFTEEN U.S. DOLLARS! That's half the price to friggin' Angeles City, 95% of the price to FLY to AC! Sounds like a place that scream welcum to the R.P. RICH TOURIST!!! :-(

Porker,

The Heritage Hotel is a five star hotel. I got a room there for about $70 - $80 US per night. This hotel is probably not for you. As you said, it is expensive.

There is no way in hell that the Heritage is a Five Star Hotel....Hotels twice as nice are half as much in Makati.

I stayed At the Heritage hotel last year for two nights. I would say it is a 3-star hotel. Rooms can be booked at www.asia-hotels.com for $60us per night. There is some sort of scam going on there when it comes to getting a taxi on the hotel property. I can't remember what I was quoted when I asked for a taxi to the airport but I rejected the offer. I walked around the corner and got a taxi for about 1/4 of the price quoted from the hotel. I didn't like the on site restaurant at all.

Here is a view from across the
street.

When I was there in March literature at the hotel itself claimed it was a five star hotel.

Orbitz.com lists it as four stars:

http://www.orbitz.com/App/ViewSpecificHotelLP?hostSystem=PEG&chainCode=MU&propId=27899&semsource=goog&semkeyword=heritage+hotel+manila

The following sites list it as five stars:

http://www.marsman-tours.com.ph/hotelheritage.htm

http://agi.wtca.org/wtc/Manila_services.html

I have seen others sites that list it as only four.

Regarding the taxis. Have the bellboy gets taxis for you. The ones along the front of the building parked on EDSA blvd are scams. But when the bellboy goes and gets a taxi for you off the street, they write down the license number of the taxi for you and give you a card with the plate number on it.

They also keep a copy of the license number as well and the taxis hailed by the bellboys always used the meters.

I will be making a return trip to the Phillipines in late July. After staying in Angeles for 4 days I'll stay at the Heritage Hotel for a night prior to flying to Hong Kong. I really like the location being so close to the airport and right across the street from The EDSA entertainment complex. The $60us is expensive by Philippines standard but I figure its not much more than you would pay at a Motel 6 back home. I got a good chuckle out of the following from my reservation at the Heritage Hotel.

I stayed at this hotel and observed the following:

It is located across from EDSA, but crossing the big street to get there is a bear, especially if you drink. Some girls didn't want to cross the street and we had to take a taxi back to the hotel.

The hotel is very touristy and lots of businessment. It is girl friendly but they have a bellhop at the elevator who checks in the girls. The bellhop was telling me that they charge 500 pesos for 2 guests/night. But they actually did not charge me the fees.

The restaurant is good, but very expensive $10 b-fast buffet. Room service, laundry, everything was very expensive. Nice casino in the hotel, but they won't let you in unless you have shoes and shorts.

The rooms are very nice, and fairly big. Down filled pillows and nice bedsheets. The business center sucks b/c they have 2 computers only that are always being used.

I have stayed there and found it an ok 3 1/2 star hotel. The above poster must have been on the executive floor because the regular rooms are fairly small. Like the Hyatt down the street, they are ok, but other hotels - Pan Pacific, Shangri-La, Peninsula and Oakwood are better.
