I just came across the name of the Mexican Restaurant near Garfield's Last Stand. It's called Zapata's. It's located on the Perimeter Road of Clark Airforce Base.

Here's the website:

Again, mediocre at best. But, if you've got to have some south of the border while in southeast asia I guess then this would be the place.

Salud!

The only real Mexican food in Angeles City and the food is great. It's not up to par with Mexican food in the U.S. or Mexico but pretty damned good, nonetheless. There chicken tacos, fajita burritos and quesadillas are solid and they serve great margaritas. The only Mexican beer they serve here is Corona and I believe that is the only beer that is imported from Mexico that I have seen in the Philippines. My gf loved the food and said, "Mexican food is masarap(delicious)...I like better than Filipino food." I replied, "It is very masarap but I cannot take you every day or you will look like the Mexican girls in a short while".....

The food's not bad if you're about to puke because of a viagra/booze/acid stomach cocktail, but just about anything at SubDelicious is better. But count me among the crowd that simply MUST have Mexican food in whatever location.

Always seems to be busy with locals, both Philippino and American in the early evening, so there might be difficulty getting a table if you visit during the peak 7:00 - 8:00 period.

Food is OK, decent portion sizes, but I find the refried beans and Mexican rice a bit flavourless.

Ventured out here the other day. Maybe this ain't gourmet cuisine, but the taco platter I had was pretty damn good, inexpensive, and served up fast to boot. I'm definitely adding this to my list of AC restaurants worth visiting again...

Re-located from original location, I haven't tried the new place. It wasn't great, but I miss it!

Now you need to review the Thai place that is in the old Zapata's location that you, derekh and I ate at. I would do that, but you'll remember that I made an undecidely non-Thai selection.

I ate at (new????)Zapata's this last trip. I will rate is as.... "OK", decent Mexican food by Asian standards. Significantly better than Tequila Reef for Mexican food in the Philippines but still not even in the ballpark for a SoCal guy. I'll probably go there again though. It was OK.

I thought it odd that when I was there, the place was completely packed with customers but they were all Filipino. I was the only porigner in the place.
