Thought that I would take advantage of the special that Dynasty Hotels is having to get folks to their new hotel in Pattaya. Checked in a couple of hours ago and here is my take;
Nice new hotel. As close to a carbon copy of the Bangkok Dynasty as they could do. The rooms are well done and large enough to even keep Blazers happy. Located toward the 2nd Street end of Soi 13, Dynasty Inn is right dab in the middle of the action. Soi 13 opens onto Beach Street between the Tahaitian Queen and StarBucks. Every thing you might need is with in stumbling distance. Except for a little quite ... this is not the family end of town. To add to the noise factor there is another hotel being built right next door (like inches away).
Fans of Dynasty in Nana now have another place to call home a couple hours down the road. Bangkok Dynasty runs a shuttle bus to it's two Pattaya Hotels at 12:30 each day. It's free if you pre-pay for two nights at either Pattaya location in advance. Like the Dynasty Inn, the Mini bus is brand new. The AC works great and the driver has a lead foot ... we made it Dynasty to Dynasty in and hour and fourty minutes today.
I paid 990baht a night. Throw in the free ride to Pattaya and you just might have the best bargin in Pattaya at the moment.

Mcdijj, great write up. Was there any construction going on there? Like you, my usual preference is the Flipper House/Lodge, how did Dynasty compare? Thanks in advance.

I will be taking advantage of the free ride special and will be staying at Dynasty in Bangkok and Pattaya. I have nothing but praise for this company....totally happy with them.

How close is D.I. Pattaya to the action? Aren't they a little out of the way? Unlike the Flipper Lodge.

Dynasty Inn on Soi 13 is not on top of the action, but you can throw a rock and hit some. Quick jaunt to Walking Street from hotel. Spent Dec 21-25 there The staff is wonderful and the rooms are nice and new!!

Cool. Looking to go back to BKK in the spring. D.I. BKK is my favorite so only seems natural to do D.I. Pattaya.

Does it have nice big bath tubs ? I saw the outside of the building last time I was there. I like the location. Last time I stayed down the street at Sandy Spring and was very happy with that but I always like to try something different to see if there is something better. Nice big bathtubs with room for two is a requirement of mine though.

Does not have bathtubs, however I like the shower big enough to lose 4 girls in...

This trip I will be staying at Dynasty Inn Pattaya. I'll let you know if it compares to Sandy Springs. Actually SS is in better location. Shorter walk to TQ and Beach street , to catch baht bus to paradise.

No bath tub!?!?!? Then I think I have to stay at Sandy Springs again this time too. If I don't have a bath tub, where will I put my bubble bath????? Sandy Springs had a floor drain in the bathroom as well which was fortunate because otherwise the guests downstairs would have been flooded out for sure.
Anyway I guess the bath tub thing is a deal breaker so I supose Sandy Springs it is again this time.

Sancho
The suite rooms at Sandy Springs have both a bathtub and a stand alone shower. Best of both worlds but a little pricey at 2,500 baht per.

I just had the standard room at Sandy Springs last time and it had a really nice bath tub. JW Marriot in BKK had the best setup. Awesome bathtub AND an all glass shower that didn't afford the slightest bit of privacy to the girl who chose the shower.

If you become a member (350), you can get a suite for 1,990 at Sandy Springs.
JW bathroom has no lock that I could find and enjoyed the no privacy shower. Girls didn't seem to mind.
Cheers,

Nabi Become a member of what ? There is no mention of any type of membership on web site.
By Nabi_asia on Monday, July 05, 2004 - 07:24 pm: Edit |
At the time of my earlier post (1/04), Sandy Springs offered a hotel membership for 350B, which allows immediate room discount. Even if you stayed a single night in the suites, it's worth getting the membership.
Cheers,

Nabi
Thanks for the response !!
Even if it is 6 and a half months later !!! LOL
BTW I e mailed SS about 6 months ago and they confirmed a " membership " which allowed a discount on certain suites. Likely their less desirable rooms. Not available for all the suites.

Khun_mor,
Glad to be of service. Been away from posting due to a local relationship but now I'm a free agent once again. Asian women can be so clingy, especially virgins. It's so hard to get rid of them, but I think I managed. I'll try to be more prompt next time...lol.
Cheers,

Here are some pics of a Deluxe room. Beware there is still some construction going on literally next door, but only during the daytime of course.

Stayed here a couple nights after Epi vacated. I liked the room, location, and hotel restaurant. The free shuttle between bkk and pattaya is quite handy as well. Recommended +.

Stayed here March 8-13, 1200 Baht a night booked online. Free minivan from bangkok,350 Baht for return minivan to Bangkok. Nice room, I had top floor(7th) decent bed, nice big shower, small balcony, frig, crappy TV channels if that really matters. Still a lot of construction noise, but only bothered me when I needed an afternoon siesta. Front desk accomodating but not as friendly as or professional as Omni in Bangkok.
maybe they are just too used to mongers.
Kind of funny, I left an ashtray on the A/C unit on the balcony and it fell off and broke, at checkout they charged me 40 baht for it.I had to laugh. Baddog.

Is there still alot of construction going on here? What time of the morning does the noise start?
By Don Marco on Thursday, March 31, 2005 - 05:27 am: Edit |
Ya the builing across from the elevator shaft/bike parking area is still getting worked on. I didn't notice much noise, but I had to dust off my bike seat every morning.
By Phoenixguy on Thursday, March 31, 2005 - 09:03 pm: Edit |
Val, there's definitely construction going on right next to DI Pattaya (I recently stayed at Sandy Spring right next door). I believe their FAVORITE construction instrument is a jackhammer.
And from what I could see, there's constrction ongoing all over Pattaya. So I don't know you'd be immune to it anywhere.

The Dynasty Inn in Pattaya is worth the money. Took the free courtesy shutle from Nana Plaza to Pattaya and it was easy street from their.
The pictures posted above don't do the rooms justice. Staff is friendly and helpful with any of your needs.
By Metalboots on Monday, May 09, 2005 - 09:43 pm: Edit |
The staff is not as attractive as the flight attendants on Korean Air- but yep - damn helpful! The heavy-set (well for Thai's) lady memorized my room number (511) and would always hook me up with my key when I returned. Also when I got food poisoned they reccomended a shop down the street for my med's. As just posted, they offer a FREE shuttle (and a nice van btw) from BKK Dynasty to the Pattaya Dynasty as long as you book and pay for 2 nights. Also, the safes are completly in the open and I had 0 problems. Oh, and their internet caffe' was excellent (higher price, but oh well.). Two thumbs up for the Dynasty.... Oh oh, oh, one more thing - excellent air conditioning! I read Blazers FAQ and he was right on. OH, oh, one final last thing but it will help a newbee!!! TAKE A BUSINESS CARD FROM THE FRONT DESK- the Minibus/Taxi drivers don't all know where it is yet- and it is on Soy 13 - and there are other hotels that sound alike like "Estiny Palace," Okay-thats all!

How is the Dynasty Inn compared to the Dynasty Resort? I would like a nice pool and a clean room. Is it hard to get to walking street from the resort? I am going to LOS in March and am thinking of staying at one of these two places or at the Sabai Lodge.

Dynasty inn is not bad and a decent location, but the pool sucks and there is not much to do there other than hang in your room. I changed to the Areca Lodge,(just a few blocks away on Soi Diana) and I was much happier. Better pools, good location free breakfast and a lounge to hang out in a shoot pool. it even has a gym. I do like the Dynasty Grande( a sister hotel) in BKK however, a good choice when staying there and only a short hop to NEP if that is your playground of choice.

In Pattaya i have only stayed at the Dynasty Inn, then again, i've only been to Pattaya once! hehe. but i have no complaints really. In fact i found the room to be decent, cleaned regularly, fresh towels, comfortable beds, air conditioner worked, no extra charges for guests and the staff was very pleasant and helpful to me and spoke decent English.
My only concerns are that it was more expensive than other hotels and it didn't have a pool or free wi-fi signals for the internet (they have a few computers in the lobby for about 50 baht for 15 minutes). At this time expect to pay between 1400-1800 for a standard to deluxe room. The difference is scenery and size. You might be getting one of these views...
Which is the parking lot and rooms across you. Not very relaxing if you ask me. On the other side you get a view of a side street and a couple bars and a pool from the hotel across from you.
The bar next to the laundry place across the street is a good bar to hang out at plus if you are looking for a last minute girl, you can pick one up there. There is an especially hot number who has this thick long hair with wonderful eyes!
The noise from the bar goes till they close but it didn't really didn't bother me. The location as great and you can walk to and from Walking Street and very close to the beach. The desk will take the ID of your girl and i find this is for your safety as much as theirs. The free shuttle from Bangkok to Pattaya was a good deal. All in all i would consider staying there again. But my first trip was only a week, for extended stays on a budget i will seek out other places to compare them.
But anyway, i hope this will update some on what the deal is over at Dynasty. you can book with them online at...
http://www.dynastyinn.com/
And don't be a bum, tip your cleaning person and the driver for the shuttle. They will definitely return the kindness!
