This is a good one. Supposedly the Outdoor Life Network has a program called Red Light Districts. They travel around the world and give a literal "how to" for certain Red Light Districts around the world. They did one on Thailand and now there is a big stink raised because of it.

A quote from the article:

"Taxpayers have helped fund a TV series on the Outdoor Life Network that enthusiastically promotes sex tourism to the bars and brothels of Thailand, a country beset by a huge adult prostitution problem."

"Episodes of Red Light Districts that aired this week, one as early as 9:30 p.m., offered a virtual how-to guide to using the services of prostitutes in Bangkok and Pattaya."

I don't know if Canada's OLN is the same as the one I have on Comcast, because I cannot find a listing for the program anywhere. I would really like to see the episode on Thailand. According to their schedule, they also have upcoming episodes on Tokyo and Manila.

Perhaps some of you with the dish can view it!

"Red Light Districts" is currently only seen on Canada's OLN. I have seen the shows on Bangkok, Pattaya ,Hamburg and Amsterdam. I missed the one on Manila. The shows are surprisingly candid for basic cable TV at 10pm. After watching the first show I was kind of expecting some change in broadcast time or even a complete cancellation of the program.

I think that is what the big stink is about. It is shown early (probably too early) and is actually an honest look at prostitution in those countries that DOESN'T characterize it as all being all about trafficking, forced prositution, and child prostitution. Wow! What a nice change for once.

And they even got public funds to go and film it!

"... a country beset by a huge adult prostitution problem." Problem? What problem? I mean, very few of those adult prostitutes are even large, let alone huge. Sheesh, journalism standards have really declined.

After being yanked off of Outdoor Life Canada about a year ago Red Light Districts has returned. This time it is being broadcast on Sex TV Canada. This is a much more appropriate venue for this very candid view of the world of prostitution. There are 13 episodes including Amsterdam, Hamburg, Montreal, Berlin, Bangkok, Pattaya, Tokyo, Manila, Angeles, New Orleans, Las Vegas, Tijuana and San Francisco. Check out their web site at www.redlightdistricts.tv.
