In the heart of Chicken Village, Biba nightclub is probably the biggest nightclub in town. Biba has an interesting format. Blaring Khmer karaoke music and TV monitors that show nonstop violent clips from movies like cheap Vietnam movies where they spent most of the budget on explosions. But they only show the violence, not the whole movie. They alternate between audience members singing karaoke which can of course be very bad and professional singers, usually a group of 4 or 5 girls and 2 or 3 guys all on stage at once who can be quite good assuming you have a taste for Khmer pop music. (and if you don't like Khmer pop music you probably shouldn't be in Cambodia anyway) There is a dance floor where you can dance with the girls but mostly they dance with other girls. Khmer guys also dance with each other which is apparently not considered gay in this country. The mamasan has a catalog with portraits of all the girls so you can order by number if you like or better yet just pick one you like off the dance floor. There are anywhere from 20 to 50 girls there at one time. Surely something for everyone. Lady drinks are quite inexpensive and the lady will nurse a single drink for about as long as you like her company. There are reasonably clean and decent short time rooms in the back complete with real showers and sheets that appear to be changed regularly. Short time is quoted to foreigners at $10 but they will probably easily go for $6 or $7, maybe less. Short time includes a massage and full service sex. Blowjob should be negotiated up front as many of the girls will not do it. Long time off premises is quoted to foreigners at $30 but I am sure they would come down to $15 pretty easily, maybe less. Don't ask the price, just make your offer and if the mamasan wont accept it act as if you are uninterested and unwilling to continue the deal at a higher price and go back to drinking beer. She will likely eventually accept your offer. Do not compromise or try to meet her halfway on the price, stick to your original offer, take it or leave it. Ankor beer is sold by the pitcher for $2.50. One pitcher will get you a good buzz going. The clientele appeared to be about 90% Cambodian and 10% foreigners. They have secure parking for motorcycles out front but it is still probably a good idea to have a motodop drive you after dark unless you know the area. It is probably the most lively place in town to hang out and have a few beers.

This disco actually caters to the locals and it’s a typical Cambo disco with a co-ed band just pumping away at the music (blaring actually) all night. Very few foreigners when I went the two nights. There are working girls here and they have a funny way of presenting the girls to you. The mamasan would patrol the sitting area with a photo album with girls all dolled up in “glamour shot” photos. You pick the girl out of the photo and the mamasan retrieves a girl who looks nothing like the glamour shot, obviously. There are short time rooms in the back for $2.50 (which was waived both times I went b/c it was so slow), and the girls charge $5 short time and $20 LT. Didn’t care too much for BIBA because its very loud and not as many girls as I was expecting, maybe because I went on a Sunday night and monday.
