Hotel Pumin Koh Kong
http://www.kohkong.com/kohkong/phoumint.html
This was a reasonably nice hotel for a low price. Not the Ritz but it was clean, quiet and secure. The location is within easy walking distance to the boat dock or Otto's. The spelling varies depending on where you see it written. It may be either "Pumin" or "Phou Mint". The clientele appears to be mainly Thai gamblers and the rooms are Asian style, not western style. Large, somewhat barren rooms with high ceilings and tile floors. I stayed in a room with air conditioning, TV and refrigerator but no hot water. Hot water is available in some rooms but is not really necessary in tropical Koh Kong. Toilet paper is "available on request" but actually those Asian style high pressure butt squirters work way better than toilet paper anyway. The bed is kind of hard as a board which seems common in Cambodia as well. Good solid backing for pounding those hot little sweeties you brought home.
To reach hotel Pumin from the border you may want to just get a ride to Otto's to avoid the motodop commission problem and then walk to the hotel. It's about 2 blocks from Otto's and you can ask at Otto's how to get there and they will give good advice. If you get a ride strait to the hotel make sure the motodop does not follow you in or they will add $2 to your bill. I had quite an argument over that one but I did get the correct price. Perhaps it might be good to print out there web site so they know you chose the hotel online and not based on a motodops advice.
To reach hotel Pumin from the boat dock if you arrive from Sihnookville is even easier. As you depart the boat, fight your way through the mob of aggressive motodops and touts and tell them all you do not need a ride. When you reach the road simply turn left and walk about two blocks until you come to the big white building on the left hand side as seen on the web site. (its big by Koh Kong standards. Not actually big) A few motodops may follow you a block or so but keep telling them you don't need a ride and they will give up. Don't tell them where you are going or they may follow you all the way.
To get to the chicken farm brothel area you will definately need a motodop. Just walk out on the street and flag one down. 10 baht or 1000 riel each way should be suficient but they will ask 20 baht or 2000 riel. Agree on the price ahead of time.
