In keeping with a Xenono tradition I have become hooked on two songs I have heard during my trip here.
One of them is a by a Korean Artist called Mina. The name of the song is called Answer the Phone.
You might also recognize her as the World Cup Babe that everyone here thought was a ladyboy...

Another song is in Tagalog and the lyrics just repeat over and over Otso, Otso....The ladies in the AC bars had a little routine they do to this where they put their hands on their hips and gyrate their bellies back and forth. Ahhhhh, good fun.

I found the song now. You can download it from this page if any of you are interested.
There is also a English version that is probably floating around somewhere.

Otso-Otso is one of the stupidest songs in the history of the universe. But the dance is indeed hilarious, and I instantly looked to download it when I got home from the last trip too. Xen, too bad you missed the 'Sex Bomb' craze last year. I'm sure D'art can hook you up with a copy of THAT one.

I am bummed about that too, Porker. I haven't heard too much Sex Bomb while I have been here, but Dart already hooked me up with the VCD of the Sex Bomb girls.
When the girls ask me if I speak Tagalog I start singing some of the versus from Bakit Papa and they get a big laugh out of that.
I also bought a FHM magazine in Baguio with the Sex Bomb girls on the cover.

When you are in any mall in the PI, find the FHM Calendar for 2004. Some incredible pics and the calendar has mulitple pics of the most beautiful girl in the PI...Juliana Palermo. I cant stand any of that cheeseball music and I want to leave the bar if I hear the sex bomb song again. Amazing that the PI can only lay claim to two original songs in the last year (Sex Bomb and Otso) where they repeat the chorus 100 times. All the other songs on the radio are Karaoke versions of American songs.

Ha ha! That was a great video. Makes me want to host a show in the US and force them to have my songs on the show. Also, sadly reminds me of what Steve Martin said about how to become a millionaire...."First, get a million dollars."
