Cambodia's first a go-go bar has just opened, called Viper (702 Kampuchea Krom Blvd). Girls dance on a stage surrounded by a ring of fire. I heard the drinks are overpriced here so didn't bother checking it out.

In search of an air-con gogo I found the Viper. Unfortunately it is being re-done. It is opening back up in about 4 days.

I can't believe that they are already remodeling this place. The only negative that I found was the fire ring around the dancing stage. It go very hot if you were sitting to close.

rumour has it,
is that this GoGo bar was closed down by the authorities for nude dancing,
But i cannot substantiate this

Viper has been closed for some time now. There is now another go-go upstairs at a river front bar. Really quite a bizarre place, but fun. For the life of me I can not remember the name of the damn place though. This place is said to have a high ranking military owner and is somewhat immune to the police.

Last time I was in PP bar bosses told me that Go-Go Dancing is certainly outlawed in Cambodia. I don't think that you will see any Go-Go Bars for a long time, perhaps even never. I have a soft spot for Cambodia, fascinating country and I really like the people.

I can assure you I saw go-go dancing just a month ago. There are bar owners, and then there are high ranking military bar owners. I really can not remember the name of the place but it was a large upstairs bar by the river. Big guy at the door pats you down and threatens you not to pull out your camera in there, upstairs through a normal bar and a regular dance floor overlooking river, through the back of the dance floor and into the go-go section. Two stages with poles and several ladies on stage. Not "showing" when I was there but other patrons in the bar assured me that they do "show" sometimes. Two absolute Khmer stunners by anyones standards and some not so hot ladies rotating through the stages. Bangkok go-go it is not but it was a fun place in a weird kind of way. I'll go back and get the name of the place in a few weeks if no one else knows where I am talking about before then.
