Today was the day, anybody in Bangkok and-or Pattaya? Are the bars closing at 12?

March first was the day and it never happened. It will likely be forgotten as a bad idea and left to die. I heard the head of Thai tourism was at a Euro conference recently and heard loud protests about any thought of early bar closings. They apparently convinced him that it would really hurt tourism. As a result there may actually be consideration of extending hours to 3-4 AM in the near future. Mayors of both Phuket and Pattaya are said to favor this.
