while it appears to be a smoewhat ordinary bar with a pooll table and a dance floor, Maggies in a very interesting place - frequented by lots of beautiful chinese ladies, (and some not quite so, sadly) most of whom speak English quite well. All quite friendly, and all ready to have a chat with you, for the price of a drink. Of course, the action in the bar is not limited to buying drinks and talking. If chemistry exists between you and a lady of your choice, a few moments of discussion will determine the price of her companionship for a few hours, or overnight. It's not particularly expensive, although each girl's price may be different from the next. I remember paying around $100-$150 for a few hours companionship with a lovely little gal from Mongolia, who was frequenting Maggies Bar on a regular basis. She even stayed the night!

All in all, Maggies is a must-see place.
I would go there again in a New York second.

Maggies has relocated to a couple blocks east of the US Embassy on Guanghua Lu Road, on the south side of Ritan Park. I haven't been in there since they relocated (a month or so ago, I believe) but I'm told they don't open until 10 pm, at least for now. I was at the old Maggie's by the Worker's Stadium a few months ago, and the scene was the same there, lots of ladies, especially Mongolian ladies, looking for clients, but generally the action starts late there, well after midnight, and picks up around 2 am when other bars close. They stay open until 4 or 5 am. I assume the new location has the same modus operandi.

If in Beijing, Maggies is certainly a place to checkout, most taxi drivers will know where it is. Many Mongolian gals here who are generally taller and sexier (joke: what ya call a chinese girl with tits and ass = mongolian), but gotta negotiate real hard with them and hammer down the lenght of time. Very expensive as the fist post noted, $100-$150 ST. Some Rusky, Thai and other nationalities here. I'd go after midnight for the best selection.

Maggie's was closed for a couple months at the end of the year for renovations. If you go, let us know if they've opened back up yet. Also, don't try to pick up any of the Chinese girls there,they work for the bar and will play you to buy them drinks all night long if they can, but then not go home. Exceptions are possible but rare. Mongolian girls are working girls there however, and available for takeout. Typically 800 to 1000 RMB and doesn't really start happening until after midnight but goes until 5 AM or so.

It's open, I was there welcoming the New Year '08! Didn't take anything back to the hotel, as it was only the second place we visited and wanted to make the "rounds".

Ack, u shoulda tried one of them Mongolian gals to get a new insight into Cowboy style from gals that mounted horses before they could walk.

Merlin, the one place I have yet to cum see is Russia. But, I heard you need some type of invitation letter to get a visa.
