Staying a Week in AC. Want a decent budget hotel with a pool. Quoted 850p for deluxe room at Hotel Hana & 630p for standard room at Hotel Marquis. Which is the best deal for the money?

I haven't hear of Hotel Marquis. Where is it? Hotel Hana's not a bad deal at all for that price, but realize that it's not very convenient to any of the bar action (though if the manager's around, you can get a free ride at least as far as Camelot).

For 650p in AC, I'd expect a pretty scummy room. That's about the price of the famous (on AC2, anyway) Villa Modesto. If you're gonna be a trike-ride away from the action anyway, might as well go as cheap as possible.

A friend I met was living at the Hotel Marquis Annex, which is basically apartments behind the hotel. The place was nothing special, but it was not a total dump either. Nowhere near as nice as Central Park, but a hell of a lot better than any of the Hotels in the Zona Norte of Tijuana. The biggest disadvantage is the location. It is way down Perimeter, past all of the bars. There is a gas station right in front of it if that helps anyone determine the location. The closest bar is a little over a ten minute walk. I am told that the walk can be a little dangerous at night in this one stretch where there are no buildings.

Any idea how much he is paying per month ?
