Recommendation for the Lek Hotel at Soi 13 on 2nd Road, across from Tim's Beer Bar. Nice rooms, cable, all tile bathroom, balcony (ask for a room off the street), very nice pool, guest friendly, only 750 baht. Only drawback is construction noise on nearby condos but that is everywhere now in Pattaya it seems.

Can anyobe recommend this hotel? How does it compare to Sandy Spring or Dynasty Inn (all about in the same locale).

I've just poked my head in once while looking for a vacant room and they looked ok.

Senny, given your dates, I think your stressing too much about the details... there will be rooms available early november. if you must, just book a room for a night, then look around.

i stayed at the Lek and loved it. Great staff with lots of security. They also have the only super buffet in this area. Very cheap and lots of good food to eat. The Lek puts you into walking distance of all the popular go-go bars and other Pattya bars.

Did 1 night in Feb as a back-up/ST room it was cool but i find for a newbie
Sabai lodge (Soi 2)w/pool and close to Big C or Sunshine (soi 8/7beer bars) are cool with newbies
just a thought!
If it price then there are still quite a few better places in my opinion but i will admit the location is good.

When will you be there?

Lek is an older hotel and I have consitantly heard good things about it and it is well located and has a great buffet. I stayed at the Bella Villa Prima last trip nice hotel, bad food, good internet, nice staff, good rooms but a little far from walking street for my liking. If I was taking a newbie to Pattaya I would book our first night at the Penthouse, (but only for one or two night) and then move onto the Lek, Sandy Spring, Flipper or Dynasty Inn. There are so many good cheap hotels in Pattaya that as long as you stick to one recommended on the site you should be OK.

but Penthouse SUCKS!!

Location is great(as im a classroom freak)
But the bed bugs, dirty water, shitty management& staff etc... are not it! I did Penthouse and Hardrock a few years ago on my virgin Pattaya trip and I hated them both.
Hard Rock 4 the joiner fees and Penthouse ..
lets just say remove the gogo stages, sex swings and location and its a Scum collecting,Bug infested, shit hole. I ran the tub - got in and it was full of brown water that i did not see because I added bubbles so I think took a bath in sewer water! belive it or not I never talk bad about a hotel.. but I hate that place with a passion!!

Dudley(think that his name) was cool years ago then the place got closed for a bit, few of my buddy's say he is an ASS now, but I have never seen him since 2004!!

Now as you know that I have a condo there I do all my Short Time in the north Lovely Homes .. or Queen Vic

I would not stay in the Penthouse for more then a day or two. Its a novel experience for a newbie, the place is like nowhere else but it does get old very quickly thats why I wrote only for a day, two at the most.

BTW I hope you are still thinking about Rio, it would not be the same without you!

Yeah i forgot to add a + all the stuff they sell in the room if you need it its there mini bar crazy .... Teez, Condoms , Electric Adapters you want it they got it!!

Last-Im sure you know how I feel about that Rio trip, considering all that has happen in the month of MAY , I more then ever want to get the heck outta the states, Goodlife in Bangkok June 28 - and Aug in Rio ..I will be broke on my 2 month Asia fest from Oct9 - Nov16!!

Now the question is where is the best place to have a party in Pattaya? I have some thoughts but it depends how many mongers are in Pattaya in Nov. Now the indoor pool at Penthouse might be fun for a "pool party". Just a thought.

I just sent out my inquiry about dates at Lek. I stayed here for a few night in February of this year and would like to again. Nice place. I had an awsome room in the new wing. IT was very secure, and staff was friendly. Good buffet as well, and the girls I woke up with the next morning all seemed to enjoy it. It is also nicely located.

An interesting thing happened to me one afternoon. I was staying in the new wing, and I was up on the 3rd floor waiting for my elevator. I looked out the window, down a floor to the building right outside. Some bloke forgot to draw the curtains to his room. His gal was sitting on the bed giving him an awsome BJ. Waiting for an elevator had never been so entertaining.
