For anyone heading off to Macau, I'm following up my trip report with a mongering map that I've thrown together. I'm posting it as a jpeg file; I suggest downloading it and zooming in for the best reading quality.
Sorry that the map is a little askew in places. It is extremely hard to find decent maps of Macau on the internet; I wound up splicing together 4 separate segments I found and then throwing the information from my trip report onto them.
Hopefully by comparing my map to one of the tourist maps the intrepid mongerer will be able to find everything I've talked about. One caveat: hotel locations on the map may not be exactly precise, but the hotels should be within 100 meters of where I've got them.
Enjoy.

Good job! Hopefully, I will be able to put the map to the test in the near future.

Murasaki,
You should go into business as a sanuk tour guide! I'm set on venturing outside Thailand but I like to have specific information first. You just gave it to me, thanks a ton!

Thanks guys. My goal is to build an even more detailed map of Macau, but I need to get back there first... and of course personally verify all of the information.

Murasaki,
When you do return to Macau, please get info on names of freelancer clubs, going rates etc. I think the saunas have been well covered. I'm sold on going, so when I do, I'll share my info too. Thanks.

Murasaki,
Excuse my oversight for not reading your trip report before I made my last post. You coverage of the freelancer scene well exceeded my expectations. I feel like I owe you a travel agent's commission because you just about created my itinerary. If only all posters gave you the relevant info down to which pamphlets to pick up at the ferry station. Practical advice is what these forums are for. I'm certainly not paying cash to read about someone massaging their own ego!
I think to reciprocate, I'll try some of the saunas you didn't go to and report on them. I was going to hold off on Macau until early 2005 and piggy back it onto a Thailand trip, but you've just persuaded me to move it to the front burner when I go to Thailand in September. Look for a report in October.

Here's the latest edition, updated to reflect information from my most recent trip. Version 3 of this map will be much nicer and far more detailed. I picked up a lot of map material and an atlas this time around to use as a base. Once I get a scanner, I'll be able to put them to good use. Until then, this pastiche will have to suffice.
