I realize that India is a little outside of SEA, but not quite that much. I will probably be starting a 6 month assignment in Hyderabad in March. I was quite happy at first to be a 4 hour plane ride away from Bangkok, until I saw that no planes fly that route and the connection layovers are often measured in double digits. Bad news.

In any case, if anyone has suggestions on experiencing India or better yet getting to Thailand in a time frame that enables a get-away weekends, I am all ears. Other destination suggestions are more than welcome.

So far my read on it is that India is a typical former British colony meaning uptight society with only underground p4p. KTM and GOI offer some opportunities, but require time to learn. Any suggestions ?

Gitano, sounds like a true adventure to ME. I WILL get to explore India someday (hopefully soon, have always wanted to go), and I imagine we'd both find SOME way to get laid some way along the way?

I stayed at the Taj Banjara Hills in February and saw no action. I'll be back later in the year. I'd sure like to know if I can get some there!

J is on the money. There are options here, but everyting is complicated. The Taj hotels, technically speaking, do not allow guests. I have had a girl brought to my room with no problem, but it was complicated and she sure wasn't Thai. Don't get me wrong, she was very pretty and sweet, but obviously from a sexually conservative culture. No BJ. I am saving my money for weekend trips to BKK.

Oh, I stay near your hotel. Drop me a line. And I would avoid the street action on Banjara Road #1.
