If any of you have stayed at the Majestic Grande Hotel (12 Sukhumvit Soi 2 Bangkok), will you please tell me about your experience there? Is this hotel guest-friendly? How are the services and facilities?
where can i bring girls nearly?
How far the hotel is from all night life actions?
Best planning for a first timer?

I just stayed there on May 14-16th 2005. Very nicely furnished and guest friendly. On one night my BG got asked for her id, but once they got to know me that never happened again. It pays to make friends with the doorman. Service was one step below JW Marriott. Very close to Nana Plaza...one block.

I stayed there too and liked it a lot, except that when I left (at 4AM to catch my plane), they charged me 1900 baht for the sheet my girl of the night got bloody, saying they couldn't wash it and had to throw it out. Seemed excessive, but i didn't have time to argue. The staff was very friendly and helpful (except for that last security guy).
Otherwise, there were some minor problems with the rooms that I expect they'll correct, but overall a recommended hotel at 2500 - 2900 baht/night (lower price if you book at Majestic Suites.)
It is very convenient to Nana Plaza, a short walk down the Soi and walk through an alley/parking areas--too short for a taxi or other transportation.
Duplas were no problem, I brought back two girls several times, they just left ID at the desk and came with me.
A good choice for a first timer if it fits your budget, IMHO. One step down from the Marriott, but two steps above the Majestic Suites.

This hotel is great. Big rooms and great location. Not the cheapest in town, but it worked for me. I stayed at President Solitaire and Majestic Suites, but we'll be back at the Magestic Grande again next trip. If you make friends with the door guys they don't ask for ID. I had several ladies back and none of them had to leave ID.

Never been to BKK yet, but shouldn't it be wiser if you did the whole ID thing. How can you secure yourself in BKK if she is under 18?
Is there a law saying that all girls working at bars are legal age?
Just dont want to be in a bad suituaton..
I always check when I'm in Rio unless in a terma's.
Now if a hotel is guest freindly, does that mean automatic it's OK with bringing up extra two or three. I know for my first few nights, I'm going to do a few dupla sessions.
Thanks,
CN

Cnotes
Leave the ID is always the best policy if you do not already know the girl. She is expecting it anyway.
Laws in Thailand are worth far less than the paper they are written on. Underage girls have worked in the bars since the dawn of time and continue to do so. Be VERY careful if you think anyone might be underage !! If she does not have a government issued ID I would steer clear. The ID can still be fake but if the hotel accepts it -at least you have that to fall back on if it is !Multiple guests are no problem with almost all of the guest friendly hotels. Even at President Solitaire which is an upscale place , the security guard just gave me a knowing smile whem I brought up more than one girl .

As usual, Khun Mor is correct on all accounts. 3 and a half years ago my ex-(farang)girlfriend and I brought 3 girls into our suite at President Park and caught no trouble from the staff. We did the same thing later at The Grand President. Of course, technically, all of the President properties are serviced apartments, as opposed to actual hotels. In Pattaya at one of the most guest-friendly hotels imaginable (P.72 on Walking Street directly opposite Lucifer's Disco) they charged me a joiner fee when I brought two women back to my room, but not when I only had one. I think it was only 200 baht, but given that the room was only 600, I suppose that's fairly steep. You just never know. But, with the exception of The Grand President (which is a bit worn around the edges...or at least it was 3 years ago), all of the President apartments are quite nice and guest friendly.
Manos.

They also have a complete business center.
Really nice Breakfast Buffet is included free.
Large pool and several restaurants on site.
Girl friendly!!!! No problems
Now for a look inside the room……

I think she got wi fi through those earings !
How are you buddy ?
obviously still snapping away. Have been to "Majestic G" ( sounds like a rapper ) last year when hotel completed, had a tour by one of the owners Mr Singh ( nice guy) also has Majestic suites and Majestic tailors on Sukhumvit, both establishments between Landmark hotel and Nana plaza corner. had some suits made and he gave me a discount card for hotel ( nice suits had some made in August 04 , still hanging well despite many dry cleaner visits )
Grande Wonder suites great and Majestic Grande suite with Bar/lounge and balcony golf putting green brilliant, (outdoor jacuzzi on terrace is great also )
a great suite to party ! two sharing ( not for cheap charlies) could negotiate a lower rate than 17,000 advertised and its the kind of place you would imagine Priew making his awesome movies in, with BKKs finest laydeez.
Hope to be there for a few days before hitting Pattaya in Feb/March with your old photo model Poppy !!! (still friends despite leaving BKK without warning, with a massuese, back in November) Majestic G has a Good website with photos of all room types shown.
Location for Nana excellent, classiest hotel along with Landmark in that area, plus Skytrain close. Mind you ! its not just the quality of your room that makes a great holiday its the quality of the girls who visit your room and your photographs that make it a memorable stay.
belated happy new year to all.
Keep snapping away "please" Bahtman

You're right Man, "Majestic G" is for monger thugs. Ain't nothing but a "G" thang. Sure beats those Compton bitches.....Im staying in the "G" Deluxe room this trip. Its got the walkin shower and the girls love the big tub. I agree with you the "G" wonder room could definitely host a Priew video extravaganza. Ill only be here til mid Feb so it looks like Ill miss you. If you get up with Poppy please email me a few more of those "special" pics. Ill return the favor with some "private reserve"...from this trip. Almost forgot one of the main features here, all the rooms have a safe thats big enough to hold my camera and flashes. Heres "wifi" girl. Funny my cell phone always picked up better when I was talking near her... humn.....

Stayed here last night. Great hotel. I took the upgrade from Asiarooms and paid 80 plus dollars. Located 2 blocks to Nana Plaza. Staff is guest friendly. ID at the door at night. Rooms are clean and modern with in room safe. Also Breakfast is included if you can get thee by 1030 am. Definitely will be back

I stayed at the Grande in August 2006, and have a reservation there for the second week of December. I really enjoy this place because of the proximity to NEP, pimped-out rooms, and value for the $$.
The lunch buffet kicks ass, and the gym rocks too. Upon check-in, a girl rushes up from the bar with a cool drink, and you get an hour of complimentary in-room wi-fi per day. My home in BKK!

Just returned from 9 days at the Majestic Grande Hotel. I enjoyed my stay at the hotel and recommend it. Booked on AsiaRooms.com and paid $108.00 net per night, with breakfast for a Grande Deluxe, corner room.
It was guest friendly and no more than a 2 minute walk from the Nana complex. If you use the Sky Train, the Phloen Chit station is better than Nana because it is a little closer and more direct. The same could be said to reach the Nana complex. Neither station is far.

I just checked in here yesterday, five night stay, $98 per night booked through asiarooms.com (thanks for the suggestion, Jaytoo). The complimentary breakfast is excellent, the gym is excellent with state of the art equipment, and the location is good. Still guest friendly, as I confirmed last night. Service has been excellent, too. The only thing I wanted to highlight was the exorbitant cost of internet here:
1 Hour Baht 150 Expire in 7 Days
3 Hours Baht 290 Expire in 7 Days
1 Day Baht 390 Expire in 1 Day
5 Days Baht 1,950 Expire in 5 Days
Some of us, like me, are internet junkies. I have a lot of personal and professional affairs to deal with online daily, and as this is my first trip to Thailand I'm doing my CH research to make the most of the trip. I find it very American that the expensive hotels here charge so much extra for internet, just like home.

Stayed there my last two trips as well. My reactions were identical to yours. I loved everything about the place except the internet fee system. Both times I arrived in low season and was upgraded one category to a nicer room. The service is excellent and the location hard to beat.
BTW, the Marriott across the street has similarly high charges.
By Whitty on Wednesday, April 08, 2009 - 03:56 pm: Edit |
I usually stay there and often go use one of the local internet shops on Sukhomvit, much more entertaining clients and occasionally ends up with a short time!!! ;)
It is a great hotel value if you want to stay at a higher end hotel.

that internet sounds like a bargain compared to the fucking bangkok marriot courtyard that wanted about twice as much. My guest satisfaction survey score was a two because of that and I had a couple email exchanges with management telling them that internet and laundry rates were just plain unacceptable.

I stayed at Majestic suites a couple of weeks ago, They gave me free internet, but I had to get a new code every day. Free Breakfast wsa ok. I booked through Thaidiscounthotels.

Could you give the full address for the site you booked through? There is no www.thaidiscounthotels.com

Majestic Grande is mentioned in 2013/11 Costar - Thailand, November 2013
quote:I want to know where you-all are staying for comparison, and I never would have stumbled onto the Majestic Grand on my own because it's a bit out of the way. I checked it out. The rooms there currently start at 3900 baht, though --for that much I'll stay at the Landmark, a much nicer hotel that's closer to Sukhumvit Road and the BTS. Also, the MG's fitness center is nothing compared to that of the Landmark, which has a full complement of free weights (barbells and dumbbells), plus a real squat rack --a major plus for me. It also has acres of aerobic machines for those who like those. The Landmark also has more than twice the number of elevators, eating places, a nicer lobby, etc. You might want to check the LM out; it's more for your money.
quote:I used to stay at the Majestic Grande on Suhkumvit Soi 2 across from Annies Soapy Massage. They will check ids after midnight, but during the day is no problem. Their rates are high but they often have discounts and you can negotiate by email when booking far enough in advance.
