Just like in Thailand, prostitution is not technically legal but the police acknowledge the zones of tolerance...just like Tijuana. The difference in Laos is that it is a communist state that is extremely xenophobic and ethnocentric. As a result, you have to be much more discrete about meeting ladies and the places of ill repute change several times per year once crackdowns occur.

I will focus on Vientienne because it is the only place to find available Lao girls in Laos...that I know of. Some of the Lao women are stunningly beautiful and many of the girls we fawn over in Thailand come from Laotian roots.

Vientienne is the largest city in Laos but seems more like a small colonial town when you arrive. There is a strong french influence in the architecture and local cuisine. The roads are dilapidated and the hotels are a little older but the place has a charm all it's own.

I would not recommend Vientienne solely as a mongering destination but you might want to take one of your Isaan honey's here to show her where her family probably came from. There are many nice Wats here and it is very cheap to stay here so it is worth it to come here at least once to see some of the Architecture and try some of the local cuisine (girls and food).

If you bring your girl here, you will get a lot of stares from the locals because they rarely see farang with Thai or Lao girls. The girls here are very conservative and will stare at you and shyfully look away with giggles. I went with Jaul of Happy a go go and we received a lot of stares because she looks like she is from Southern Laos. We also received a lot of snide comments from local men and they were angry to see a falang with such a beauty. Luckily, she speaks Lao..so she understood what they were saying and snapped back at them with remarks about how small they were..etc.

Just spent a month there. As tourism is picking up big time, I'm guessing there are many looking for the 411. Here's what I found.

The North
Outside of Pak Beng, there is a local only (mostly because they're the only ones who can find it) bar that had some very young girls in it. We didn't check IDs or anything but I suspect there was something awry there.

In Luang Prabang, there was nothing explicitly available but the tuk tuk drivers were asking if you're interested in girls so there is definitely action. No sense if GHs are guest friendly.

Vientiane has a very strong if random scene. Many of the random farang bars such as Wind West, Samlo Pub, etc have freelancers in them but I hear its very hit or miss. Bor Pen Nyang, the rooftop bar on the river, has a not so good ratio of freelancers to falangs, but most of the falangs are backpacker types and the girls seem to be able to sort out those who want to play vs. those who want to talk. There are also several discos in town that all allegedly have action, as well as the karaoke style place at the Mekong Hotel. The late night scene is the disco at the Don Chan palace but its not all working girls.

There are also some street girls, most of which are either girls on their way someplace or, more likely, ladyboys. The LBs hang mostly on the first street inland of the Mekong River.

FYI, no sign of police crackdown when I was there. One girl drove me to my hotel on her motorbike and we went right by 3 cops who just smiled.

The South
Not much explicit going on in the south in places like Tha Kaek, Savannakhet or Pakse. However, there is action, its just hard to find it. Your best strategy in these places is to hang around the various restaurants on the Mekong River or in the random karaoke bars in town. Most likely, you won't find anything available without a marriage license but just be sociable and maybe something will happen.

In Pakse, I met a cute girl at one of the riverside restaurants on the Mekong. Just rent a motorbike and cruise the strip, looking for any single girl or girls sitting by themselves. If you find one, sit down at the table next to them and see what happens. When we went to my hotel, the guy at the desk was handing out breakfast coupons (this was at about 9pm) and when he saw me with a girl, he asked if i wanted breakfast for two!

Amazingly, I also met a nice girl in a songthaew (open air bus) on the way from Pakse to Savannakhet. She was there with her sister and cousin but seemed interested. We had dinner after we arrived and spent some quality time at my guesthouse, whose manager looked so shocked at me walking in with her I dont think he even had a chance to object.

In terms of the sessions, I'd rate them all quite high. In my four experiences, none of the girls ever asked for money. For the three of the four that I sensed were "the type", I gave about 200,000 kip ($25US) and they just smiled without even counting. The sex wasn't as wild as with their Thai counterparts but once they got going, it was quite intimate and skilled.

I'm in BKK now, ready to head out to NEP, and to be honest, I'm wishing it had the low key but high reward atmosphere of Vientiane. I guess its a good world when both exist.

It was next to a Expat demining company called UXO Lao. We went into the restaurant area and a Mamasang brought out about 10 ladies from a back room. They all were Vietnamese ladies and most were stunners. The prices were cheap (don't remember the exact price but It was about half of what I paid in Pattaya a month earlier) and the ladies would do anything you wanted. The girl I took didn't even think twice about sucking my dick right after I pulled it out of her ass.
All around great experience and I would go back again if I had a group with me.

I was in Vientiane for a visa run in May 2012. My first time in the city, but I have traveled Phnom Penh and Bangkok previously. So I decided to pop my Lao cherry and find some p4p. A tuk tuk driver took me to a brothel that I believe was in the area of the bus station, but off the beaten path. Place was dead, then they paraded in the girls. Most were 5's and 6's. I chose the only 7 in the bunch. She said she was 18. Had a nice little body. Typical small breasted Asian woman. There was no mamasan. I dealt with a couple of Lao men in the early 30's to establish the price. They spoke a little English, but preferred to use the tuk tuk driver as an interpreter. They asked for 400k kip. We agreed on 300k, which is a little cheaper than what most girls in Bangkok are charging nowadays. So I figure WTF, let's get my first Lao pussy. They wanted the money up front. After I agreed to take the girl to my hotel, they took the money, then promptly claimed there was no "take out". So I made the best of it and took a girl to one of their rooms for short time. She allowed only straight intercourse. No oral for me or for her. No fiv or fia. Not exciting, but she had a cute smile, so WTF. After about 45 minutes, there is a knock at the door. Then another knock 10 seconds later. And another.... You get the picture. I will not repeat and do not recommend. Next night, I chatted up a girl on a motorbike near the riverfront. 250k kip for short time, and 50k kip for the room. Very pretty, but not a stunner. Nice body. Bigger than usual tits, definite plus. No stretch marks from kids. She was a great time, and really aimed to please. I called her next night for same same. I appreciate a known quantity over hit and miss. I think I will go to Phnom Penh for my visa runs from now on. But at least this trip to Laos had a happy ending.

Just an additional note, most of the "girls" walking the streets, sitting at cafes, and riding motorbikes on the riverfront were ladyboys. I met my real girl a few blocks from the riverfront going towards the city center. I saw nothing but ladyboys on the actual riverfront road, but I did not walk all the way down to Don Chan Hotel, so I can't speak for that area. Just fyi.

Latest on the nomadsphilippines site, he talks about Laos and you can actually find freelancers and there are Hotels that do take guest in. The information by other posters above is still the same, he says he found one girl in the Bor Pen Yang bar in Vientiane but hey! If you go to Pattaya you've probably been with a Lao girl hehehe.
