On a corner between LA Cafe and G-Point. Uniformed doorgirls wave for customers, mamasan Evelyn "just back from Japan" said the two dancers on top the beer coolers were actually waitresses having fun, but they never got down for taking orders...formerly the Firehouse back when Ermita was a hot spot. Center oval bar and pool tables on sides, tables for food from the menu. Evelyn said $19 hotel rooms upstairs. Two levels, but second is only a couple nice tables and a pool table. School girl waitress uniforms and some freelancers.

Manila Bars/Clubs should be sub-divided into five folders, as follows:

-- Makati, Burgos Street.

-- Edsa Complex.

-- Ermita.

-- Quezon City.

-- others.

The first three areas are where the expats bars/clubs are located.

Ermita has numerous bars. The three best bars for expats are Manila Bay Cafe (formerly LA Cafe), G Point, and Amazonia Bar. All three have freelancers and live bands.

Ermita has no clubs for expats that have girls on stage. It did in about 2005-06 in two clubs, named Butterfly (now the name of the bar formerly called Harry's) and Jurassic. But, about two months before Alfredo Lim became Mayor in 2006, Butterfly closed and Jurassic removed its stage and later changed its name.

Business in Amazonia increased, when LA Cafe was closed for several months in mid-2010. In Oct 2010, Amazonia advertised that it was now a 24-hour operation.

Amazonia has a hotel on its third floor, primarily for regular guests. But, it also has short-time rooms.

Amazonia is indeed 24 hours, but I can't figure out how they manage to stay in business as dead as they are mid-week. There are a bunch of waitresses at any given time, but the freelancer girls there are old, ugly and aggressive.

The rooms upstairs start at about 1200 pesos, and are pretty crappy. The food is a little overpriced and nothing to write home about quality-wise.

There's a set-up for nightly live music during prime time, but nothing happening at 10 PM on a wednesday night in December.

This was a skanky, aggressive freelancer in the wee hours of the morning. She was so aggressive that surely 500 pesos would have gotten a short time, for those that troll the bottom of the barrel. There were other skanks that were even more aggressive...

Are we sure it's a chick? That lump in the throat looks low for an adam's apple, but....
