Did Christmas and the furthering of high season bring many more punters to BKK? I was in Bangkok and Phuket during mid November and was quite surprised by how empty the bars were. In Nana, Fantasia for instance, I was often the only customer, and this was during the time of say 8 to 10 pm, ususally a prime time to catch the stunner you're looking for. Although this was only my second trip to Bangkok, I don't know how some of the bars stay afloat. In talking to some of the Mamasons, the Bali bombing haas steered the well-heeled (sex) tourists away from SE Asia. Although I hate to see desperate bargirls doing anything they can to get a date for the night, the attention paid to each of customer was great - even by Bangkok standards.

The Bali bombing and all the State Department warnings about future attacks in SE Asia has undoubtly caused many Americans and others (Aussies, Brits, Japanese) to be concerned about their safety in tourist areas of Bangkok, Pattaya, and Phuket. I remember going to Patpong last year with KM and my buddy, Mr. X. We hit a number of bars, including the katoey and mixed gogos. I saw some gorgeous "girls", but they were still easy enough to distinguish from the real deal.

Three nights ago I was headed to Peppermint-a-go-go and so passed by the Jenny Star Bar. There were two in front that were NOTHING short of GORGEOUS!! Well Phoenixguy, it does vary from girl to girl, but quite a lot of bargirls in Nana Plaza charge 1,000-1,500 baht for ST and 2,000-2,500 baht for LT. However, some are trying to push the prices up! Some Rainbow 1 & 2 bargirls are 2,000+ ST and 3,000+ LT, which is WAY too much but suckers like the Japs are paying this much.

Most girls in Hollywood Strip will charge about $2,500 Baht LT, but if they want $3,000 up to you, but I would hold firm on $2,500. Carousel could be a different story as some of the girls there are a little more hardcore and will really push for $3,000 Baht. I just say "ok I'll give ya the full $3,000 but you got to give me 100% or its $2,500 in the morning. Works every time. My advice is to interview them in a way. Make sure that they kind of like you a bit. Ask them if long time does that mean the next moring or what is the deal. I have been to some of the Jap bars like Rainbow I and they think long time is a couple of hours and ST 45 minutes and want a lot of $$$. The Japs just fork it over. My suggestions in Hollywood Strip are JUM, GIF & Kung. In Carousel there is Lee. She will want $3,000 Baht LT and tends to like her sleep, but other then that she's great. Had a great time with all these girls and they spend all night. Really very sweat girls most left my room when after I got up and did a morning session with them. Phoenixguy you will not be disappointed. Trust me.

An alternative and the way I have handled Thai BGs for over 20 years now is to say good bye as soon as they mention any amount of money. In my experience the girls that mention money first are far more likely to be into the baht than into you. There are a few thousand other girls available and there is no need to negotiate prices with any of them. When they leave in the AM I put their "tip" in their pocket or purse rolled up and have had only a handful ever even count it before they left. If you give them a reasonable amount everyone is happy. It helps of course to speak Thai as you get to know the girl a lot better before you BF her . but by no means a requirement as I did the same thing when I could barely speak Thai and I know plenty of other Hombres do the same who do not speak Thai at all.
If they ask me how much will I pay them I say " Up to you" --in Thai of course. They will inevitably ask what I mean and I say I what I pay them depends on what they do for me. Never fails to get a laugh and if they trust you already pretty much insures a good time later on.

It's an offensive term to Japanese people and although I am no fan of the way the Japanese behave in Thailand I think the use of racial slang in any form is innappropriate. I work very closely with Stickman, and yes I supply him with a lot of nightlife news, not just Nana actually. Many of my reports he uses word for word. "Baron Bonk" is very crude and his meager website gets a fraction of the hits that Stickman gets. Stickman's weekly column gets between 25,000 and 30,000 weekly readers, which puts these amateurs like Baron Bonk well and truly in the shade. Well spotted I wondered when somebody would realise that "Dave The Rave" is one of the main contributors to Stickman.
