Believe it or not, you are right. I couldn't believe it at first because I wanted to buy some toys once when I was in Bangkok. I confirmed this with a bar girl while I was there.

If you get cought you just lose your toys. The customs guy's mia noi will have a good time that night. No great risk unless you bring in quantities sufficient for sale.

Yeh, IAS. I experienced the same thing. My first BF in Thailand was Miss Sai (lousy lay). I pulled out the pocket rocket, and she almost freaked. She actually backed away and waived her arms in a "no" gesture.
