Two discos that I've been going to in AC that gals like to go to.

1. PICKUP DISCO: Located in a sidestreet, near Santos and Orchid Hotel. This is a multi-story disco with good music (similar to the music you hear at the go-gos), and the seating areas surround a round dance floor on the 1st level. The often have live bands (seems to be a Filipino thing) and on Tues-Wednes are lady's night with a bunch of good-looking Pinoy guys dancer strutting around for the gals and gay guys. Good place to stop off during barhops if you need a change from the barhopping.

2. RYTHYM & BLUES OR "R&B" is located in the perimeter area with some great live bands and ample seating rooms. The bands, which alternate every hour or so, are actually pretty good. Mostly a Filipino hangout and a good place to just chill out for awhile. The dance area is big, and the place is pretty big, but dark.

The female bass player is a major cutie as are the lead singers of the band.


Skytraxx (sp) is another disco located on Fields, but never did like the place as there are a lot of teenybopper Filipinos that seem to cause trouble.

Pickup Disco is closed. The only disco left in this area is Skytraxx. I went there with my lady and had a good time. Or else you can take a trike bike to R&B Disco if you really want to hit the dance floor. R&B Disco is located further up Perimeter Road. I'm not sure of the exact location.

I was really impressed with R & B ! This is a great place to go with your lady to experience something a tad bit more upscale than the wana-be bands playing at that upstairs bar near the Aussie Hamburger Joint. Anyway, great sound system and they play todays kewl dance hits and classics. (Lady Gaga, Hip Hop and even Hotel California.

There is one singer - who is HOT - who could dominate any cover band club scene here in Cali' - if you guys have been there in July you know who I am talking about. She can sing Beyonce's "Halo" to a degree of professionalism and stage presence that will blow your ballz off. (Yes I am a freak about music, live music especially and not just metal styles.... and it's always kewl to going to a gig, between creampie and mango shake sessions.

Anyway, check out R and B - if you want something different than the typical AC bar sceen. Picture to follow....
