The restaurant name is Cottage Kitchen.
This restaurant is located on Perimeter road, way out towards the friendship gate and near Clartkon Hotel. Most trikes will know about this place if you ask. I wish I had specific addresses to provide.

It was actually a decent surprise to find great Southern & Cajun food in Angeles City-- the food was excellent, lots of choices on the menu, quiet and elegant ambiance, and decent prices. And the service was top-notch. The owner was a genuine Southerner who has been living in the Philippines for over 20 years. He imports all the raw materials from stateside and told us he oversees everything.

Between the eight of us that showed up, including HKs that never had southern/cajun food, we got to sample a lot of things --hushpuppies, friend catfish, jambalaya, etc. An impressive selection of blackened meat dishes as well. The cornbread was kind of drier than you'd expect it to be. The food was good enough to pass muster with a die-hard southerner friend that was there, another friend that spent some time in New Orleans, and me (having lived briefly in Atlanta and outside Houston).

The breakfast menu was long and extensive.

They also have wi-fi wireless if you take your computer.

Excellent food. A must hit in Angeles. Take a trike, or if comfortable riding them, the jeepney that runs down Perimeter Road.

Interesting about the internet access, Merlin, but it was raining so much last month that I wasn't gonna be hauling my laptop anywhere!

I have generally found the food in AC to be acceptable at best. It's edible and keeps you fucking, but its not going to win awards. However, Cottage Kitchen is the exception to this rule.

During my last trip at the end of July, Porker and GF, Bud and GF, Hippie, a new guy who's handle I've forgotten and myself and BF had dinner one night at Cottage Kitchen. The food here is OUTSTANDING. During the entire meal, Bud kept gushing about the quality of the brisket. Most of the girls had shrimp in one form or another and all that I tasted was excellent. I had the baby back ribs and the only fault I can find is that they weren't straight off the smoker. Otherwise, simply outstanding.

However, there is a caveat (isn't there always?) It is pricey. I think Bud may have spend his entire monthly food budget during the meal (this is an exaggeration of course.) I paid around 1000 pesos for the meals for my BF and I - including tip. So if you're on a budget, this may not be your place. If you like southern/cajun, it's a must-do! In fact, I can't remember the last time I was that happy with all my clothes on.

Afterwards, the guys and our gals went to the Horsewheel for an evening of drinking and really horrendous videoke. How much more do you want during an evening on the town in AC?

I give Cottage Kitchen an enthusiastic two thumbs up!

Cottage Kitchen really does kick ass, and re: expense, it's easily worth 100+ pesos per person more than Kokomoz or Margarita or Hotel restaurants which have gotten damned expensive relative to the quality of their food.

The night we all went there together was indeed a fun night!

I don't know if I told you this, but a smells-like-ass trike driver tried to bang me for 100 pesos for a trip from Fields to Cottage Kitchen. I laughed in his face and flipped him a fifty. He was not a happy camper. It's times like this that I'm glad I'm a big fat-man. A little intimidation never hurt any trike driver and I think it actually turned on the BF a little. Ah, good times....

Still one of my favorites, but did detect a 20 pesos jump in price on average here. The food rocks here, especially all the slow cooked BBQ's, BBQ shrimp, and the breakfasts. You have to be careful as there are a few clunkers on the extensive menu to be avoided such as the gumbo, red beans and rice, and some of the blackened dishes. I still like to eat here at least every other day.
