I'd like to talk briefly about my last visit to Bali. My favorite club in particular was Paddy's (upstairs). The locals would start to come in around 11:30 and soon the whole place would be full of young pros ranging 5 to 9's. Most of the girls would ask 25 to 30$ for overnite. Also at any of the hotels a girl can be conveniantly ordered by way of hotel staff for a friendly 3$ tip. The girls end up having to tip the hotel security anyway on the way out. Also the double 6 club was a good spot to pick up pros but got started much later round 2:30am

I visited a place in Feb 2002 called Dyana Ayu, basically arranged a cabbie for the evening for $10 who would drive me around for up to 100KM, and wait everywhere for me. I informed him that I wanted some girl action, and he first took me to a karaoke place. About a dozen women, mostly australian tourists, a couple came up and sat next to me while I sipped my beer. They were average, I bought them each a beer for about $3 a piece, and then played around with their tits (Clothes on)... but they were not so great looking so I left - total cost around $12 (incl my 2 beers and a tip).

Then the cabbie took me to a guest house called Dyana Ayu in Sanur, which is literally in the middle of nowhere on a sideroad. Pulled up, he had a word with a bloke there, and suddenly a spot light goes on, and about 30 women from 2 to 9's lined up and all started saying pick me, pick me etc... and I had to look around, found a girl I liked, and went to the room... cost for girl, 2 soft drinks and condoms was about $30 for an hour. You can take the girl to your hotel for around $40 for the full night, or 2 girls for $65 ...

Girls do not give blowjobs, even with condoms, sex was a bit mechanical, but she was a tight one... so overall a fun experience.

Get a cabbie if you want to eat out, or the hotel concierge for room service...

Jimbo126, hope you're okay.

All I can say it's another senseless waste of life. The ironic thing is that the people who are killed abroad are those that are open-minded enough to experience other cultures rather than the narrow-minded ones who tend to stay at home.

RIP to those that were killed. When you see Paddy's mentioned at the top of the thread, at the same time as the BBC mention it as one of the bars affected, it really hits home and make you think "there but for the grace of God go I".

Bombs Kill Almost 200 in Bali Tourist Nightspot

I am a Dutch guy, who recently (januari 2003) spend some pleasant weeks in Indonesia, most of it on Bali.
Many bars and discos in both the beach area Kuta as the more upscale Seminyak area on Bali have prostitutes among the visitors, offering their services. One popular place in particular is the disco Double Six in Seminyak, a large open-air disco with several bars and big dance floor. The place fills up with girls after 1 at night, when most bars in Seminyak close. I would say that at least 25% of the women here are self employed prostitutes looking for customers. Many of the mostly young and good looking prostitutes will approach you for a chat, offering a 'massage' if you show enough interest in them, but being in Asia you often need to take the initiative. Prices asked are between 200.000 (low) and 500.000 RP (high). Girls mostly want you to go with them to their place, but i preferred to take them to my hotel. There is no time limit for this amount of money, and girls will do oral and several positions.
Best are the semi-professionals: local girls looking for a good time (or Western husband), but who also expect some money for their favors. As they are mostly shy, it takes more initiative from your side to connect to them. But if you are lucky to get one, you will experience they are much more into enjoying it than the prostitutes.
Most (semi) prostitutes on Bali are actually from Java. Bali girls, although often very beautifull, are known to be difficult to get into bed because of the strong local traditional culture.

I consider visiting Bali next summer and I would like some info about the local scene. Since I have traveled to Thailand several times, I would really appreciate some comparison between the two countries (I mean where pussy is cheaper, where the atmosphere is more laid back etc). Since I don’t like pros, can anybody tell me where to find amateurs in Kuta-Legion area? What is the regular price for overnight? Do you think that there will be any problem concerning female guests in the hotel I will book? Thank you

I spent a few days on Bali in July, my third trip there in the past 5 years. The main purpose of the trip was surfing (awesome), but as always, I checked out the P4P scene.

Bali is not a place you would go for the primary purpose of engaging in our little hobby. While the prices for girls tend to be fairly low, they are no lower than in Thailand, and the selection on Bali is pretty weak.

Most of the action is to be found in clubs around Kuta, Legian and Seminyak. Cab drivers are the best source of information, although I had a great concierge who arranged for my best session with the only Balinese prostitute I've ever met (almost all of the women you will meet come from Java or another of the Indonesian islands).

I had best luck at Double Six nightclub and the Hard Rock Cafe. It's easier to interact with the girls at Double Six, and the entrance and drinks there are much cheaper than at the HRC, but the cutest girls were found at the HRC. I did have some trouble telling the working girls apart from the tourists, which resulted in one pretty embarassing moment, but you figure things out after awhile. As is the case seemingly everywhere in the world, the uglier girls are the more aggressive ones, so you have to be prepared to fight them off, and most of the pretty Javanese girls are a bit shy, so you have to make the first move, although they will flirt from a distance.

I stayed in a five-star villa near Oluwatu, and had no problems bringing back guests. This was also true when I stayed in a more humble 3-star hotel last trip. The locals seem pretty laid-back about prostitution.

If you find yourself headed to Bali, there's enough action to make your evenings interesting, but I would never plan a trip there for the primary purpose of mongering. It doesn't measure up, in that regard, to the other options in SE Asia. But, damn, it's a beautiful place with friendly people, and the surf is outrageous. As a vacation destination, it's very high on my list. The women are just a bonus.

I spent 6 weeks in Indonesia. Block M in the south part of Jakarta has some nice looking working girls...Top Gun is 1 of the clubs in Block M. In Bandung it just rains too much and there was not much variety of girls to choose from.....Bali....Kutu Beach....recommend Prawita Hotel...but do not pay more than say 15 USD for a room per night....it is close to Paddy's Pub so you do not need a taxi....there were alot more working girls than customers many nights...haggle about price...but be nice and you will be ok....200,000 Rupiah to about 350,000 RP.
You won't find any local Balinese girls working....almost all of them are from Java. Tourism overall in Bali is way down....DO NOT PAY TOO MUCH....!!!

selamat pagi

tourism slowly has returned but not where it was before the terrorist bombings. the memorial at ground zero lists the names of all who were killed & is one of most photographed site in Kuta. agree with BD that ´Bali is not a place you would go for the primary purpose of engaging in our little hobby.´

the quiet period during nyepi, hindu new year holiday observed every march (or april), is not the ideal time to be in bali unless you´re a devout balinese hindu. when i was in bali last yr i had no idea. although indonesia has a muslim majority, bali is 90% hindu. the island basically shuts down. just about all biz, bars, clubs, stores, markets, restaurants, etc are closed, even the airport i was told. no taxis, no buses, no boats, no noise.

Guests can remain in their hotel. but my hotel informed us that electricity, a/c, fan, lights should not be used & advised that we stock up on water & food the day before. We were not permitted to leave the hotel premise (except in an emergency). if memory serves the quiet period was 24 or 48 hrs. after that everything returned to normal.

Thanks for the heads up as I may hit Bali sometime soon. It looks like the holiday is going to be on March 5 this year.
