Svay Pak outside Phnom Penh Cambodia. About 20+ places with girls although one has to be exceptionally careful as some brothels towards the back have underage girls and there have been recent police crackdowns.
About $3-5 shortime for the girls. All Vietnamese. Can take out long-time. Brothel will send a car the next morning to your hotel and pick the girl up. Should pay no more the $20 all night. Brothel will try and get $30 from you if you look new. Some places have A/C, some are extremely basic massage rooms.

I'm assuming Svay Pak and km11 are one in the same since they have been referenced so in other boards. I've been monitoring some boards that deal exclusively with Cambodia and they have been saying that km11 has been closed down. Nobody seems to know when it will reopen but the consensus as been unanimous that km11 may be closed for awhile if not permanently. You may want to do a bunch much research before planning any trips in the near future. I got this information on http://www.km11.com/

KM11 is on it's way out. The Gov't., for the first time, has publicly announced the closure. She may sputter along for a while, but I think we can look forward to more harasment, more short-term closures, fewer operations, and finally - not to far in the future - complete closure.

Anyone have a guide recommendation in Pnom Penh?
By Murasaki on Monday, June 16, 2003 - 05:02 pm: Edit |
Absolutely. I talked about this guy in my Cambodia trip report. His name is Mr. Thy. He was totally on the up and up and a great driver. I used him for three straight days to get out to KM 11; on the last day, he waited for me as I ate dinner and then gave me a free ride to the airport. Can't beat that service.
He knows where the pussy is and he stays with his car, so he doesn't try to get commission. See my trip report for the hotel he hangs at, as I can't remember the name right now. His e-mail address is sokha64@hotmail.com and local phone is 012 917 547, according to his business card.
I'm glad you're going to PP. It will be good to get some reliable info about what's going on with the scene there.

Will be there for as long as I can legitimize the pussy while putting up with the shithole than PP is. Taking the camera again, and hopefully my memory stick doesn't die this year. Thanks for the recommendation. Will email him and check his availability.

This area was getting a little scary in July when I was there. Lots of NGO types driving and walking around like a big police raid might be pending. Just a little too dangerous looking for my taste.

Someone clue me in, What is NGO? I have not been to Cambodia before, I have been to Thailand, and I hope to go to Cambodia sometime in the next 2 years.
Thanks for the input

NGO = Non Governmental Organization
A collective term for voluntary groups that are established for a particular cause or interest, e.g. the environment, human rights, green consumers, etc.

The following TripReport snippet is taken from 2003/12 Merlin - Spending the Holidays In Cambodia
SVAY PAK or KM 11
It appears that Svay Pak has seen better days, but I’m happy to report that it’s still alive and kicking. Other ex-pats (including the owner of California Café) tried to dissuade me from going there, his direct quote was to “avoid the place like the plague”. But I just had to check this place out and I’m glad I did. One caveat before I explain the setup, Svay Pak is not for everyone; there are hundreds of other venues that are more readily accessible with no stories of arrests or police harassment. You really have to have an adventuristic streak , especially these days. But my belief is that anything worthwhile has an emotional cost, and Svay Pak will tax your nerves; therefore, if you want your puntering sugar coated and handed to you on a silver platter, it’s best to avoid this place for now. I did hear a lot of talk of frequent police raids, surveillance by NGO types, recent arrest of punters, and creepy conditions. All of this is true, but not without a story behind each one. For instance, the idiots that got arrested were 2 guys shooting photos of underaged girls, the arrests of punters results from doing underaged girls. There will be many young touts pushing these underaged girls, but so long as you avoid this, then I don’t see a big problem. Also, I went every day around 4-6pm, apparently when the cops are off work, didn’t see one cop the whole time. Moreover, my intel directly from the Mamasans, my driver, and a couple of expats is that the mamasans will always get prior warning of an impending raid (bribes to the cops are the norm). In essence, I was told that the raids and arrests are a big show for the NGO’s to get them off the cops’ back. Given the present situation, I found myself mostly alone, or with one or two other punters each time that I went.
Svay Pak (or KM11) is actually a dirt alley, located in a hole in the wall small village/town. It’s dirty and primitive. It reminded me a little of Santos street in AC or the alley behind Adelitas bar in TJ. On one side of the alley is a row of houses with roll-away garage doors that all have locks on them, but these places are not “locked”, it seems to be a show for the NGOs to prove that this punter haven has been put out of commission. In fact, at least 8 houses were “open”, explained later. There is a little café/restaurant with plastic lawn chairs that all the punters hang out at directly across from house 16. Some great food and a good place to meet other punters. The punters mostly hangout and watch, every once in awhile someone would go up to a locked garage door and some kid would appear, unlock the door, let you in, and then re-lock the garage door. At first, it was bit unnerving to be locked inside a house, but you get used to it after awhile and I eventually figured out that all the houses have back entrances that are always open and readily available if you need to bolt. I actually had, what I thought, was another measure of protection, my cellphone (SIM cards work for GSM Thai phones). Being the newbie, a teenage tout volunteered to page me or call me with the “911”if he sees a raid materializing. Naively, I thought why not. During my first visit, in the middle of a nice “yum yum” (BJ), I get a series of 911 pages on my cell phone. Shit! Before I realized it, I had my shorts on and bolted out the backdoor, barefooted and shirtless, leaving a string of startled VN girls in the house. I rounded the corner of the house to see a bunch of little punks laughing their asses off! I forever became famous at Km11 for that incident. It wasn’t funny then, but I was later amazed at how quickly I could move my 220 lbs when it was necessary to do so. But other than that, I did not have one single legitimate scare during each of my visit to Svay Pak.
Once your locked inside the house, there are a bunch of small rooms, one of which has a sofa or a bench that you sit down on. Once you are seated, they parade a bunch of girls in front of you and you get to choose one or more of them for $5 each, plus tip $1-$3 depending on service. Svay Pak is one of the very few places where “yum yum” or BJs were offered and given in PP. Sex was standard missionary with a tight VN girl. All the girls were about 18-19 y.o. My favorite house was #16 and #10, which had about a dozen girls each. House 10 had prettier VN girls, about half of them very doable. The girls I had out of house 10 all had those perky, upright tights and the slender VN bodies that I’ve come to like.

I had mixed feeling about this place....mostly bad.
Basically this is a Vietnamese ghetto of recent immigrants. The entire place is run by children.I sat at Mama Tu's and ate and drank in the shade for about two hours just to soak the place in. Mama Tu's is right next to Home Away from Home and serves local Beer for 2,000-7,000 riel (4,000 riel to the dollar) All of the food went for about 3,000 riel. There are street vendors who sell dried bananas for 100 riel. This was one of the few places where everything was quoted in riel. This place is directly accross from House 16. House 16 had some cute girls but my driver wanted me to check out House 9 and 10 down the alley. There is another snack shop/beer drinking place accross from House 9 and 10. All of the houses were locked.
There is usually people living next door or a small store next door where an older lady will hang out and wait for you to approach the metal doors before opening. Once inside, you sit on the couch and can order a beer($2). The girls will surround you and give you a hard sell. I chose house 9 and wanted two girls that looked at least 20(very hard to find here as most girls looked 14-16) Their initial offer was $15 each girl. I told them that I would be going to Martinis instead and the mamasan argued with this 12 year old boy and countered with $10 each. I said $5 each only and they walked away. I walked towards the door and they stopped me and said OK. The rooms barely fit a bed and there is a faucet on the floor with cold water. There is one towel that has been used all day and no soap. Best to bring a backpack here with soap, towel, condoms. Viet girls give excellent head and some of the girls here had small bodies with big tits.
I was originally rejected by House #10 as one of the prominent policemen motioned to her from the restaurant and denied my entrance because she thought I was NGO. She said, "You young handsome boy. Why you go here" "Where you work" "You cannot come here...You go now!" I am hardly a boy and was an old man compared to most of the touts working here.
One of the disturbing things here is that the young Viet boys are running around and are already semi-pimps and they are 9-14 years old. It's disgusting. One guy was pimping his 10 year old younger sister and she wasnt working at one of the houses. I am not trying to put myself on any moral highground but I think this place has seen better days and is not really worth the 20-30 minute ride out of time. It is downright depressing at times and looks very unstable.

Blazers, did you miss the recent Nightline show on NBC? That would have been a good primer on the place (Svay Pak) and probably would have discouraged you from going. As a 1-time tourist maybe it's worth seeing just out of curiousity, but the chance of being photographed or filmed would make me nervous.
An acquaintance of mine knew the doc who was profiled on the show, i guess it's a fairly small area and people (even total strangers) having a drink naturally start chatting.

The Nightline show on NBC would be a very BAD primer on the place. It very seriously distorted the the place. I'm not saying there not some fucked up stuff there but it's not at all the same as the image the Nightline episode portrayed. As for being filmed there, let them film away. I'll be squeaky clean and if they put me on TV and slander my name without having there facts strait, I will sue there ass.

Sancho is right, sure there are underaged girls but so long as you avoid them, I found no problems.
Just got back from another few trips to Svay Pak, no camera crews, no raids, but plenty of punters. Just avoid the young ones and I see no problems IMO. Several beautiful girls, pics posted, and EXCELLENT BBBJs in a consistent fashion. Get the mamasans tele # so you can have the girls delivered to your hotel later or you can complain to mamasan about performance. Don't take them in your car or moto, have them delivered as I heard the coppers will try to stop you for bribes on the road back to Svay Pak.
Also, many of these girls moonlight at Martinis at night.

My second visit to KM11. This time the neigborhood was 1,000 times more relaxed than in November. Remember I arrived last time exactly the day after a main house was raided and two Japanese and a German were arrested. The tension was thick last time. But this time everything was very relaxed. I would have to say the talent was down though as well. Last time there were many more ladies and they were much more anxious than now. I get the sense that the action is simply moving more in town. There were not to many western tourist. Just lot's of Khmer men. Probably the NGO's thought they were helping the ladies somehow, but now the nice, friendly, high paying foreigners are staying in town and the Khmer men are treating the ladies like shit for $2.50 a session. Still you ought to see it. Stay away from the underaged girls and you have nothing to worry about. It's not unsafe and the neigborhood is really working to keep the foreigners coming. If you are really paranoid, I saw a few westerners ride up with motodops wearing a hat, sunglasses and a SARS bandana over the face. I kind of laughed at the James Bond nature of the operation but I suppose they don't want to end up on Dateline.

I ask Taxi drivers about svay pak, saying that they {the Taxi drivers]will only take westerners there in the day time,As in the night time the police follow and watch westerners,
Give to much probrem, as one taxi driver said to me
There is a couple of Brothels still there.
