I was initially scheduled to go to Rio again, but 2 weeks before I was to leave I came to my senses, and changed my trip to Thailand. I had a great time in Rio in July but the LOS is my first love, and as it turned out, I was really glad I changed.

My first trip was last November, and this was my 6th trip since that first shock and awe trip. Fortunately my obsession has given my quite good status on United Airlines so I always travel in business class. I arrive fully rested, and ready to hit the streets. I sit in 22A which is right next to the exit, so I am one of the first passengers off the plane. I don't check baggage so I can usually be waiting for a taxi in under 15 minutes. As usual, I dropped my baggage off at Majestic Grande, and headed over to Nana Plaza without checking in. After finding company for the night I then check in.

I'm taking my family to Thailand in February, so I used this trip to scout the country for things my 11 year old Daughter, and my Mom would enjoy. My 2 brothers are also coming, but of course there is no need to figure out what they will want to do;)

Of course I went up to see Dave the Rave which is always fun as is his bar Angelwitch. I talked on the phone to a few fellow CH members, but was unable to hook up with anyone on this trip. Fortunately, I have friends that live here so I had friends to bar hop with.

I really like Majestic Grande and if you book thru Majestic Suites you can get a room for 2700 Baht. Not bad for the quality. They also have wireless internet for an extra fee. It works flawlessly with Skype internet telephone. I was able to call my Mom in Canada, and Brother in California for free. The signal was perfect. Amazing!

In Pattaya I stayed at Dynasty for the first time, and was pretty impressed after having stayed at the Bangkok one. Great location, and nice facility. I also summoned up the courage (or insanity) to rent a motorcycle for the entire time in Pattaya. I got used to the crazy traffic, and driving on the left side of the road in no time. I will never be without a bike again. I'll include a pic of bike below.

My friend that lives there is from Canada, and is married to a Thai, but that doesn't stop him from bar hopping with me. He introduced me to some new GoGo's like "Hot and Cold" and "Coyote". Both had good talent and fun atmospheres.

All in all had a great trip although it would have been fun to hook up with fellow CH members.

Blazers, no offense taken, but neither is a ladyboy. The one on top is a GoGo girl I barfined, and her friend came along because she wanted me to take some pics of her. I bring a portable printer that makes 8x10's, and many of the bargirls want photos once they see their friend's pics.

Nice pics Av8tr...I too was at a cross roads on the November trip...I chose Rio and had a fun time. The way I saw it, I couldn't go wrong with either choice. Glad you had a good time in Thailand. Life is good!

I can relate to the LoS obsession. I've pulled the plug on 3 trips to Rio and a half dozen to cambo as i have a REAL hard time not spending free time in LoS.

Are you implying your getting comped bix upgrades on international flights on nearly every trip? First time I've heard of that (on a regular basis).

Agreed, but you may want to try a scooter given the fact they are 1000% easier to handle in traffic and your rarely going to exceed 60kph.

Yes it is a Nikon D70. I have the new Nikon D200 on order.

I am a 1K now on United, and with the SWU's and miles, I have yet to not get a business seat.

I did end up trading in that hog for a 200cc Honda. It was a lot easier to negotiate the Pattaya traffic. I tried the scooters, but liked the slightly bigger Honda.

Also coming out around the same time as the D200 is the 18-200 VR lense, which is retailing around $800-- quite a bargain considering what your gettin'. It's on DMs christmas wish list

I too am itching for that lens, but do you think it will be optically OK? Sometime, trying to get too much out of a zoom can hurt the quality.

It's suppose to be a killer lense w/ next gen VR--I expect it to be backordered. I'm on the waitlist...
