This is by far the biggest and most popular bar of the main three (Sari Ayu, L.A. Bar, and MTR Bar)

It is usually a complete madhouse and almost impossible to navigate through because there are so many people. They blasted loud Indonesian Techno and House music and it was a non-stop party inside. The downstairs area had a layout typical of these bars. There was a standard U shape. In the middle of the U was the bar where the bartenders served drinks. Along the outer edge of the U were booths to sit down and relax in. At the left side of the U was a glass enclosed area with nicely dressed women (usually three.) This is where you paid. Next to this glass enclosed area and at the back of the U were usually a fishbowl and the toilet. And then there were usually stairs that went up to the fuck rooms. On the other side of the stairs was another area (besides the fishbowl) where the mamasans and ladies usually congregated. Sari Ayu was somewhat different because they had a whole other area that branched out from the far side of the U (if looking from the entrance). L.A. Bar and MTR bar didn’t have this. At least one of the bars didn’t have a fishbowl as well and I think it might have been Sari Ayu, but I am not sure.

Sari Ayu was usually crowded and rocking, but they did have some lookers. It is worth a look. All the bars charge a standard 200K Rupiah for 1 hour. I believe long time is available as well, but it will be in the neighborhood of 500K+ (I think). I also believe that the ladies won’t be available for long time until after a certain time. Another note is that Penjay pretty much closes up shop at midnight. They may start as early as three, but I think 5 or 6 at night may be a better time to start your day. As for the midnight closing, this is sometimes extended. Sari Ayu went at least until 1am one night I was there. But for the most part, things do start winding down around midnight, although it is not a “firm” shutdown time.

IMO, the best time to go there is in the afternoon. You kinda like to be the the first poke, or if you find something real nice, and want to take out/all nite. First cum, first served.

Sf4, I've heard that going late PM, around 5 is good. I understand they open around 4pm. It gets crazy there after 8pm.

As for LT (take out) or booking as they say, the mamasan there said they charge a hefty penalty for taking out early. I think it was about 500K? if you take out right before they close.

Merl, I don`t recall paying a hefty fine, but then again I was there with my Indo taman`s. Whom, introduced me to the papasan, and set him straight with moi.

In Dec. 2005 Sari Ayu definately took over as having the best talent in PenJay. Amazing since a group of hot girls getting long in the tooth at 20-22 have left and resurfaced over at Bintang Mawar. Replacing this group is an even larger group of young hotties. Here is a very large breasted young sweetie who just started work here two weeks ago.

Indramayu is by for the largest source of working girls in Jakarta not just Penjay, although sometimes it does look like the PenJay bars do get the picks of the litter.

Discounting the cuties i've already been with in the penjay region....Being a face-man and extremely picky when in asia theses days, only saw a couple of cute new ones. the scene is worse since some cuties have left and one of my regulars there has picked up 'the bumps'. only a couple of new cute ones in la bar, and a couple of cute ones at mtr, but their bodies were only so-so. Overall, talent is the lowest i've seen it in penjay. still has the biggest quantity over the other nearby bars. Actually started going with 2nd string gals and the service is definately a notch or two up! Multiple pops seems to be the selling point nowadays since business is low and prices are up. in fact, multi-pops almost seem standard especially at the less popular mtr, and la bar.

no problem. You'll have no problem there finding ceweks you'd happily do...i'm just comparing the scene relative to how i've seen it in the past. It has definately slowed down. Less customers, and less traffic to the area as well.

When I was there last month, Sari Ayu had more girls and better standards than I had ever seen in that bar, but LA and MTR Bars were still down. Prices are 210K in the afternoon and 220K at night. Also, Royal has a smaller but very high quality line-up. Then again I probably am not as picky and fuck uglier girls than all other Asian mongers.

Also, the Java Spa is right next to our favorite bars. Evidently they have the usual Kotah Indah looks and performance standard in a massage environment. Same 220K + tip pricing. So between the five venues there is more than enought to satisfy most. I will be there in 10 days to also survey the scene.

Actaully, there has been a Kota Indah - Batam pipeline for a while. At the Island Garden KTV in Batam a lot of there stock comes from Kota Indah. I visited SA twice this past week. As Socrates noted, I would say the number of girls was down about a third from when I was there a month ago. However, I still found the looks standards to be very high. As usual I found some great new girls (or who I hadn't noticed before) to do.

My first visit was on a Friday around 5PM. I noticed this petite girl in black sitting near me and started to flirt heavily. I checked this place out recently, arriving around 3:15 pm. There were perhaps 15 or 20 girls there by then, but initially it was very hard to know what they looked like owing to the very dim lighting. I made my way towards an empty "viewing room" on the right side of the bar (through a side-bar) and asked the mama-sans to bring the girls there so that I could see them (the lights were on in that room, although when I left they had been turned off).

I can't really speak to whether most of the girls were average, below average, or above, but the one I picked was rather hot. The price was 295R, and I had a two-pop session for that plus a 70R tip. The reason I left 70 rather than what I understand is the more standard 50 was because the girl spoke no English at all, and I asked the mama-san whether she would do two pops. I was told yes if I paid a tip. I asked whether 70R would be sufficient (thinking maybe 50R was expected for a one-pop session) and the mama-san said okay.

I should mention I used the Transjakarta bus to get to Kota, and then walked to the place. I referred to a map Merlin earlier posted here to get in the area, but be forewarned the map is a bit off, or at least it is according to my reading of it. From the Kota train station (which the transjakarta bus station is connected to via a tunnel, you do walk along Mangga Dua until you hit P. Jayakarta, an unmarked street as far as I can tell, but I believe the first traffic light you will hit on this route and a relatively major roadway. You then make a right onto P. Jayakarta, walk on the left side of the street past the automobile dealership and after awhile past a large sign on the left saying "Sahara Hotel Bar and Live Music." You can't miss the sign if you are looking for it. There is then an "alley street" just beyond Sahara, and a second "alley street just beyond the first. Take a left on the second alley street, and towards the end you will see Sari Ayu on the left-hand side, and a couple of the other bars mentioned under this heading on the right. I'll try to post a couple of pictures that should help within a day or so.

I guess we have to try again.

1st, Kudos to you for trying to suss out these locations without much guidance other than previous reports and a map.

But I'm shaking my head at anyone trying to walk around in tropical heat trying to find their way. Take a tuk-tuk or ojek! Spend a buck (2 at MOST) and they'll get you there with MUCH less hassle (if not in COMFORT!).

I haven't been there in 2+ years now, and I DO hear the recent reports that the place has slipped, but PenJay, once upon a time, was damned near close to short time GENIUS! SMOKING hot girls with at worst, a workmanlike attitude in the stuffy short time rooms, at best a "fuck you through the mattress" experience so many of the INDO regulars here have become addicted to.

I was always a little uncomfortable in PenJay with the darkness, music, bule stinkface, mamasans throwing rhinos at me, seVERE language barrier, but when I DID hook up, it was mongering stripped down to some of the very best things in the sport: SYT meets horny beast, game ON!!!

I like walking (even in the heat) and doubt the walk from the bus station is even 10 minutes. Also, I like taking photos along the way although the types of photos one can take around there are not "scenic" but rather "interesting."

Funny thing is when I went to Sari Ayu I had a flock of girls trying to get my attention; in other words if there was much bule stinkface I did not notice it. Also, while the mama-sans were not "laid back," they were manageable; certainly much more so than what I have experienced in Changping, for example, and perhaps slightly less annoying than what I have experienced around Lokasari (sp?) Plaza. So despite the fact my very hot looking girl was not a great performer, I was rather satisfied with the overall visit.

Glad to hear that SA isn't closed yet. But 15-20 girls is a sad turn out for what was once one of the very best damn hooker venues I ever saw. When I was there last January, I saw similar low numbers in all the kota indah bars, but even worse was that 2/3 of the girls were very overweight. Contrast that with 4-5 years ago where you would find 150 girls in SA, and 100 in LA and MTR, and the half the girls were 7/10 quality or better. Plus there would be no more than a couple of fatties in any one bar. And of course, as mind blowing as the quality was the service standards were usually very top notch.

Actually, I did not notice girls who were overweight, and that is something I tend to be sensitive to. As to the numbers, I'm wondering whether there would have been more later on, as I got there around 3:15 pm, and left 4:30.

Opps I should have not used the expression very overweight. But certainly 2/3 would have been in the 5-20 lbs overweight category. Indonesians are getting richer and so are there diets.

Now it has been about 10 months since my last visit. But I would say the last couple of years the numbers, quality, and service have been sliding in kotah indah (not all equally). I think the local chinese customer base of these bars have been doing better economically the last couple of years and now prefer the places where the ST's are 500-900K. These typically come with much nicer set of facilities, rooms, and typically a 90 minute session. However, the girls were typically the SYT that recruited from Kota Indah style joints. Now the girls are just going straight to the higher end joints.

For example, my loooooong time GF/regular had younger sister come of age with long pencil legs, an ass like two halves of a small cantalope, major c-cups bolt on style, and relatively fair skin. She got recruited directly to Alexis at a cost of 900K a pop. Of course, her first two weeks she was the new it girl with the local chinese and was doing 7-10 ST's a day.

Eventually a nice western gentleman disregarded the Bule stink face and was instant gaga. Back to the kampong to get her passport made so she could follow her new bule customer to Singapore (at a cost 20 million rupiah for the week). What a great start to her carrer! So what does a kampong girl flush with such cash do? So goes back to the kampong and gets knocked up by her kampong sweetheart. She couldn't be happier enjoying the simple life with a nest egg that will surely be gone in a matter of months.

Whoops! I made a small mistake when I gave directions to Sari Ayu above (where I posted the three pictures). I said the Sahara Hotel sign was before you hit the two alley/streets, the second of which leads directly to where Sari Ayu (as well as MTR and Royal Massage) are. Actually, the Sahara Hotel sign is located between the two alleys. Assuming you are walking South (in the direction away from the street where Kota Station is located), you go past the first alley, see the Sahara Hotel sign, and then turn left at the second alley, just after the Sahara Hotel sign.

It is about a 13 or 14 minute walk from the Kota Transjakarta Bus Terminal, but as Porker pointed out, you will likely be drenched in sweat after the 13 or 14 minutes. Assuming you don't get run over by a car or motorcycle on one of the streets you have to cross to get there.
