Hi guys

Has anyone stayed in one or more of the hotels above?
I have booked into Woraburi with asia rooms it mentios a joiner fee however another person of this board has advised he had no problem with any joiner fee last month.

Nana 1st choice wasn't available then i emailed hotel direct and it is available.

Basically the above are all a similar price and i would like to know what people who have actually stayed in these places think?

Many thanks

what do you mean by joiner fee
Thanks

Joiner fee for guests (bar girls) coming in with you. 3,500 baht and joiners cannot use hotel facilities, this is on the bottom of the email form asia rooms.

The room is booked for 2 people and another guy on the board stayed there in January and never had a joiner fee. So hopefully this will not be an issue.

Of the three you mention - Dynasty is the nicest but only if you get a room in the the new wing. The old wing rooms suck . I would personally rcommend the Nana . Definitely no joiner fee there. In fact I think they charge you extra if you don't bring a girl back every night. :-)

3,500 baht is an outrageous fee- almost $100 at the current exchange rate of 39 per dollar.
Even the 5 star hotels down by the Chao Praya River charge at most 1,000 baht . Are you sure about the fee ??

I stayed at the Dynasty for 3 nights in late Dec and was pleased with accomadations. After a week in Pattaya I stayed at the Omni suits about a 3 min walk West on Soi 4 and had a suite that was great with a view for miles. The girls just loved it.

O.K. I just spent a nite at the Woraburi BKK, and it was mentioned to me that if I stayed in a standard room (cheapest @ 850 Baht per nite w/breakfast), they will charge you a guest fee of 300 Baht to indulge:-)

So if you book a superior room or suite, no overnite guest fee.

I tried it out for a nite, cuz it was written that it had a very good breakfast buffet. It does! And I was leaving the next day for Indo, and didn't plan on inviting a guest to snuggle and .............

NANA HOTEL - The problem with the Nana Hotel is that it is so popular it can be difficult to get a room. Nana Hotel is right in the heart of the action (opposite Nana Plaza) and it has its own Angels Disco, 24 hour resturant and room service. Takes some beating if you are not too fussy.
DYNASTY INN - Great location (just down from Nana Plaza) and very popular with Americans. Take KM's advice though an insist on a good room in the new wing. Don't take no for an answer!
OMNI TOWER - These are serviced apartments (deeper into Soi Nana) but becoming more popular. Can be expensive and it is NOT a Hotel. Alternative if you cannot get a room. I lived here for a while and it is a better choice for those wishing to stay a month or longer.
WORABURI - I have eaten here and it does have a good little resturant. Getting quite popular as another alternative when Hotels are filling up.

Guys
Thanks for the advice, i cancelled the Woraburi and reconfirmed with the Nana Hotel.

Kun mor - the bit from the email showing the fee:
Special Remark : Remark: King size, non-smoking, High floor room on request, Pleased note that our check in time 1400 hrs and check out time 1200 hrs. Early check out or late check out is subject to room availability. Our ref: PNR 362314 Cancelled Policy; Pleased cancelled at least on……30 JANUARY 2006………… prior to client arrival, Remark: Otherwise one night charge/per room, or early check-out will be collected for cancelled fee, non refundable in case the guest check in late and no show guest. Cancelled charge failure to notify automatically hold period charge. All visitors, joiners are subject to 3,500.00 THB extra charge, any used of hotel facilities by joiner is prohibited

It was not mentioned on the booking site, just the email confirming the room i could not believe it either the fee is more than the cost of the room for 2 nights!! Unless they made a mistake?

But i will not have to worry anymore, pay my cancellation fee (waiting on the refund)and have booked Nana Hotel.

I can't wait, 10 days and i will be in Pattaya, ye ha!

Thanks for your views!

I have not stayed at Nana for about 3-4 years now. I always used to stay in their new suites. More room and very nice. Two moderate problems-- I would be interested to find out if they have corrected them. One- they are all on the third floor - just above the disco so your room shakes and booms a bit to the bass until 2 AM. Never bothered me much as I was never asleep that early.
Two the aircon had basically 2 temps -- Deep Freeze and Off !! I swear the thermostats were window dressing only. Hopefully enough people have complained over the years and both problems have been solved.

Otherwise I loved staying there - unbeatable location and it's a hoot to watch the menagerie in the lobby all day and night.

Sounds like my kind of place, can't wait... 8 days and counting. Don't worry I plan on doing a detailed trip report when I get back. Whats the point of going to LOS if you don't get any bragging rights afterwards?
