Meri Massage Parlour (formerly known as May-ree) on Petchburi Road in Bangkok has been a long time favourite of mine -- nice girls, good facilities and no hassle. When it was known as May-ree, there were three levels of charges -- 700 baht (US$16) for the older women, 900 baht for the average girls, and 1,200 baht for the stunners. About three years ago it was pulled down and rebuilt, with the name changed to Meri. The average charge is now 1,500 baht (about US$36). Though I love the soapies, I'm a creature of habit and tend to stick to the one place. So when Meri reopened, it was back to there. What do you get? Up to you. If you have any special "requests", just inform the staff. the normal thing, though, is to pick a bird from the window, pay the bill and then retire to your room. There she will run a bath, while a waitress brings drinks. When the waitress leaves, the serious stuff begins. And boy, is it great. Your girl will undress you, giving you little touch-ups all the while. Then it's into the bath where she scrubs you from head to foot, paying special attention to the old fella -- when she's satisfied it's clean enough, you're as hard as a rock and then comes the obligatory blow-job. After that, it's onto the rubber mattress for tjhe "soapie" -- if you haven't had one of these, you don't know what you're missing. It all ends with a shag on the bed. I like to give the girls a little growling out to get them motivated. When that's finished, it's clothes on and out the door -- floating 10 feet off the ground. Try a "soapie" when you next come to Thailand -- there's tons of places to go to, especially in Bangkok and Pattaya.

What directions do you give to the taxi so that he can drop you off close by without you incurring the extra commission?

I like this place although the quality of the girls varies. Prices a bit higher than quoted above, somewhere around 1800 baht for the fishbowl (I believe there are two levels of prices for the fishbowl, depending on which side of the fishbowl you choose from; 1800 baht is about the average of the two prices)and 2100 baht for the sideline girls (for two hours) but on some days they lower the price by 200 baht and make it 1 1/2 hours.

There usually are in the range of 30 to 60 girls in the fishbowl depending on when you visit, and another 10 or so on the sideline. I was told Sundays and Mondays are the slowest days, with the fewest girls working.

If anyone has current information to suggest I am being quoted prices that are higher than the norm, please let us know.

Incidentally, Evita is across the street (just use the overpass and you will be there) and also is an option. It tends to be a tad cheaper than Meri.

Also, I'm not sure either is using the rubber mattress anymore, although you can always ask the Papa-san if any of the girls there would.

One way to get there is to take the Skytrain to Ekkamai (sp?) and a taxi up Ekkamai (or alternatively the 23 or 72 bus) to New Petchaburi Rd. When you get in the taxi just say "straight ahead" and maybe "to New Petchaburi" When approaching New Petchaburi have the taxi bear left to exit Ekkamai onto New Petchaburi, when you get to the stop light (or sign) at New Petchaburi you will be about 2 blocks away and you can just walk along New Petchaburi to the right.

OTOH, I don't think this place pays taxi commissions, although I am not absolutely sure.

Located on Petchaburi Road, just to the east of the intersection with Soi Ekamai, not Soi Thong Lo as I mistakenly said in my recent trip report. It is situated directly across the road from Evita.

The prices were 1600 for girls in the bowl, and 1900 for the sideline, identical to Evita. Meree also has happy hour pricing, a 200 baht discount on any girl from opening time until 6 pm.
