Sabai Lodge

Located on Soi 2, this fine hotel added a new wing that goes for 800 baht a night. Extremely clean and neat, 2 pristine pools, nice lobby, guest friendly, safe deposit box, friendly staff. Cable TV ( poor channel selection though), LOTS of hot water in the shower, cold A/C. A definate 8 in my opinion. Soi 2 has it's own little action area, but just a short 10 baht bus ride from Soi 8 or Walking Street. Do not confuse with Sabai Inn.

Archie,
From Sabai Lodge, can one walk to "Walking Street"? Is this Lodge chica friendly with no add-on charges for overnight guests?
Thanks!
Bkkguru, Absolutely no guest hassles and no add ons. I think you can do a double with no hassle. I walked from Walking Street to the Sabai but it was 2:30 A.M. and the weather was cool. About a 20 minute walk along the beach with plenty of freelancers and Katoeys looking for action. Too hot during the day to walk. Just a 10 Baht taxi and they run constantly. No inconvenience whatsoever.Archie

Billcink,
How much are you paying per night?
Thanks!
BKKguru, I,m paying 750 bht per for a weeks stay. they wanted 800 but knocked 50 bht per off for a weeks stay.Keep in mind this is the offseason rate.I'm sure its at least 50% more during peak Dec thru Feb.

Billcink,
How is the bathroom?! Is it a tub or stand-up shower only?
Do they supply extra towels on request?
Thanks!

BKKguru, Not sure about the towels I didn't for any extra. They do have extra towels when you use the pool.My room had a stand-up shower but some have a tubs.

Bkkguru,
This is a great hotel for the price. I got Bt750 for a new room. Great, clean hotel. Even though it's on Soi 2 it's only a Bt10 ride to all the big action. I highly recommend this hotel.

Have stayed at sister Htl Sabai Inn, across the soi a couple times. I've checked some rooms at the non pool part of S. ldge quoted at I believe 650-700bht. Rooms though are a little worn and not up to stndrd with the other rooms surrounding the pools. Believe at the time all other rooms fully booked, so for the same price stayed across the soi at above mentioned. THough after my last trip will not go back to S. Inn . They were to change my room to a window outside room following my checking in within 2-3days. I again reminded after the 3rd day. I proceeded to stay another 10 days without another mention of or anything further, when I in fact knew they had become avail. Mai bphen lai! There loss!
I will definetely a try Sabai lodge during low season when can get the lower rate.
chok dee!

Stayed at Holiday Mansion a couple of months ago.
I could't believe it. The place is one year old, immaculate, gorgeous swimming pool and completely monger friendly. Pool side and in house oil massage. Could not fuck the massage girl but did get to feel her up. Thai price $10 per night. Farang price $15. Fifteen minute walk to walking street.
In fact I think my wife, I and some of her family and friends in tow were the only non mongers there. There were guys with their chiks everywhere. No other Americans either.

On my only visit to Pattaya, the Sabai Lodge was the place I found after my one night at Flipper's Lodge on Soi 8. The beer bars were so noisy that there was no way I was going to stay on that soi another night. The Sabai turned out to be an awesome deal. It was very clean, very girl friendly, nice pool and lounging area, and it was very quiet, which was extremely important to me. The closest beer bar was about 200 yards away. I rented a motor scooter to get around and up to Walking Street. I paid about the same as the prices quoted above.
LOL, Mura, kinda like what I did. I rented a scooter and it was impounded! LOL. I'll probably post a report later. I stayed at Sabai Inn(close by) and had a pretty big room for around 1000 baht. Only stayed one night cuz my friend wanted to leave.

Hey Dickjnsn,
Don't know if you caught my post above .
Anyhow regarding Sabai Inn, good thing
you only stayed one night at that rate.
Have stayed there three times , though
never again. Granted I got a reduced rate
at 800, I was as stated in above report not
happy with the room and service.
I felt betrayed by the one clerk who I've
dealt with in previous stays. It eerks me
and shows there lack of concern as to not
be as helpful as possible in giving
preferential care to returning patrons.
Believe this not the way to conduct business
and for that matter have lost me as a returning
cust.
mai pbhen lai!

Braut, my friend took me there and when I got my room he said wow, it is a lot bigger than his. His room was 800 baht. Sorry to hear their service is below par.
The desk staff can definately have an attitude, but I found that type of attitude prevelant in most places I went in Thailand.
Am staying here now (have a girl asleep in my room as I type this), have stayed here in the past and I've never run into an attitude from the staff. Always friendly and offer a decent discount when I show up. Last time, because the fucked up my booking they offered 250B off their price list. Normally I get 100B off...

Agree with Epi. They were always very cool with me, and I spent some time bantering with a few of the girls in particular. If I ever return to Pattaya again, that's where I'll stay. The only problem is trying to convince myself to give Pattaya another try.
You didn't like Pattaya, Mura?

Epimetheus, what's the weather like? I've always been told to avoid Thailand this time of year because of the rains...
No DJ, I had a bad time there. I talked about it in the first report I wrote for this board, my trip from November of 2001. Since then, I've always been having a fantastic time in Bangkok and haven't had the desire or inclination to go back.
I was in Ptya for only one day because my friend wanted to leave. I'd like to check out the place a bit more next time. They impounded the motor bike I rented and it was a pain lol. I've heard Pty being called a dump etc and was surprised to find that it looked a lot better then say...TJ lol. It seems that people either like pty or hate it

I really liked this place, and mainly stuck to the places that were within walking distance of it, which are many. 840 baht for a decent sized room, will post pics of the room when I get a chance.

Stayed at Sabai Inn my first night here. I like the hotel but I can't stand the mattresses. The first thing I do when I check out a hotel room now is test the mattress. Both Sabai's have these extremely hard mattresses (not firm, hard!) It makes it impossible to sleep on my side. As a result I end up sleeping on my back and wake up to tired angry Thai girl who got no sleep due to my snoring. If you want to stay near the Big C (my preferred area) there are plenty of apartment houses in the 600 to 1000 baht range or 10k to 20k range for a month. I'm paying 10k for the month at a place called One Mansion on Soi 3 and I like it.
Hi,
Could you tell us where one may find information on the apartment houses? website? Are there weekly rentals?
TY

Stayed here for a week in September. I e mailed the hotel and was offered a deluxe Ruen Thai for 1750 baht inclusive of tax. Very nice room, although was a little close to the Beer bars on Soi 2 and picked up some boom boom ( music ). When you enter the hotel grounds , the Ruen Thai rooms are to the right, so I never had to register my guests which was nice. Room had stocked mini bar, but still plenty of room for personal stuff, big TV with lots of channels, and bedside controls for the lights and air. Strange though, had no clock. Asked the front desk, they offered a wake up call.
I bought one at BIg C for 95 B. Room had a front door to poolside and a back door to the hallway.

the "sabai wing" at the sabai lodge has wireless internet, however, they charge 150B PER HOUR. many hotels charge that for the full day which is a bit much but okay. if i had known this, i would have stayed elsewhere.

I am thinking of staying here next month but I find the lay up of the rooms a little confusing. Can anyone recommend which rooms to stay in?
And if anyone knows of other cool specials in Pattaya or Bangkok I would appreciate the info, thx.
