I was thinking there should be a thread in the under the Angeles City topics with the Fontana Water park as something to do during the long hot days between mongering. I remember reading trip reports and never heard of it until I was over there. It is on the base and we had no trouble getting in with our hk's. Just a thought as I would have liked to know of it on my first ( and so far only) trip.

The girls REALLY loved this place. None had ever been to anything like it.

TTD:

Wave Pool
Slides (you can see one in the background) - The girls were scared out of their minds the first time.
Pool River to float around the park all day on rafts.

Cost: Can't remember. Probably comparable to U.S. prices because it is on the base. I think it was $15 U.S. per person.

But it is definitely a nice thing to do if you are bored in Angeles or have been there awhile. Also it is very clean.

EL, GREAT pic, thanks. But 15 USD per person? Even paying an inflated surcharge for using Wild Orchid pool is substantitally less than that. With all those kids in your pic adding local yellow flavor to the water, I can't imagaine many locals are paying those kind of prices.

Ha, ha... That's great, Porker! Yeah, it does seem expensive. But $@!%$ it was fun! I will never forget carrying a screaming filipina up the steps to the top of the first slide. And repeating it with each girl I was with. They want to be in America so bad.... This is there chance to see what it feels like. And they like it.

That really is the best advice. Luckily I am a relationshipaphobe. Perfect for A.C! That keeps my biggest fear broken condoms.

I was here a couple of weeks ago. I think the price was either 300 or 400. I went on a Friday afternoon, and there were only about 50 people in the whole place.

Not a bad way to spend the afternoon, but you should be a ware that they don't have a lockerroom. That means you have to keep an eye on your gear (money, phone, wallet, camera), or have someone do it for you, while you're in the water.

Oh, and food was kind of lame.

That's the rule, not the exception, in the PI

Do they still inspect your bags at the gate for bootleg water and such?

We had to leave our bottled water with them at the gate because, "if you want to consume food or drinks, including water, you must buy them here."

Yes, they do still inspect your bags at the gate, although our girls were able to sneak in a can of Pringles.

And, unfortunately, Epi is absolutely right.

Anyone know the dress rules? My gf said she can go topless there. True? In the rules it says proper swimsuits, no clothes. Come back...dan

I was just there and no, you can not go topless. There are a lot of families in this facility and the lifeguards are strict about the dress code. The fee is $300 pesos to get in and they do confiscate bottled water at the gate.

Yes, it must be swimsuits or swim trunks. No regular shorts. Although one of the girls we went with went down the slides in her thong. Of course it wasn't that crowded that day.
