I want to thank everyone on this site for all the research and help with questions I had before going to this very unique and wonderious place..of course I had many sexual experiences but i want to go over other things I noticed and want to share

Attitude
I really have never been anywhere that was as friendly across the board..sure you can go to a inclusive resort in the carribian and of course they all work for the resort, they will be friendly, but this is a poor country and some are very poor, now I am a very social person, own a large restaurant, my career is being a good host, I smile and greet everyone politly and with respect..this country returned that almost 100%..didnt matter who they were, you smile they will smile.

Street venders
As I said before, I own a business, My profit comes from sales..now I know getting hit up for Viagra,DVD's, T-shirts,etc. 20 times a day is annoying...but remember, they are trying to make a living, they dont sell they dont eat...and NOBODY trying to make a living is below you, I treat them with the same courtesy as I would anyone,A polite no thank you with a smile is good enough, or joke with them (if selling Viagra) "its too early man" or grab your crotch and say "still going"...I was only grabbed by the arm by one overly agressive guy after I said no thank as I was walking buy, I stopped turned to him and in a very serious voice I said "no thank you SIR"..he got the message.

trike drivers
I found them to also be very friendly and helpfull..again if you act like you are better than someone you will get a attitude..I talked to a few..they pay 5 pesos a day for a licence, the trikes cost between 400 and 1100 U.S. gas is 43 pesos a gallon...again they dont get riders, they dont eat..now anyone who thinks they are too agressive, you should see what I would be like in that same envoronment...all they do is say "trike" and if other trikers see you saying no they wont hound you..again a polite smile and no thank you goes a long way..a plus..if you see a trike or a jeepie that looks cool, tell them so, remember that may be the only thing in the world that is there's and you phrase them for it..a simple gesture goes a long way.

Santos street
I have a great time with those girls...every day around 1 or 2 I flag down the ice cream man ( by the 2nd day he was waiting for me) I give him between 700 and a 1000 pesos and tell him to buy the girls and kids ice cream till the money runs out while I sit dowm and have a beer or 2 with a couple of girls...the blowjobs are always better after shes have a fudgesycle...the ice cream man has 2 silver frount teeth and should have a licence tag on his trike that says "PLAYERS sports bar and grill" if you go there point out the licence tag, will probable freek him out, and buy ice cream, again he dont sell, he dont eat.

child beggers
Touchy subject..here's what you do..keep 1 peso coins in your pocket and if aproched by 1 or 2 give them a coin..if a group comes to you, now you can have fun, walk them to a empty lot or grassy area, show them 10 to 20 coins and throw them into the area..and the treasure hunt begins..good entertainment for 60 cents

wild orchid resort
Cant say enough good things about the staff..one thing stands out..when i took girls to my room I didnt usually stop at the desk, when the girl left they would call me..must keep notes to know which girl is with which guest...nice touch.

water problems
Sad part of the trip..the ice kicked my ass, sick the last 3 days..if anyone know what I can take or do so this doesnt happen next time I would love to hear it.

the roadhouse and las vegas club
These were my favorite hangouts when I was there, if you go there mention "PLAYERS" restaurant and see if they remember..let me know.

Thanks for your attention...will post more later..feel free to email any questions or comments...Dave.

You seem to have a positive attitude, are tolerant, and try to turn annoying situations in fun situations. However, with child beggars these are syndicates. Giving them money is not going to alleviate their situation and is only going to lead to more children out on the streets until 4AM and not going to school or finding better prospects. If you are sympathetic, better to just feed them as that doesn't benifit the adults running the syndicate. Watch how much happier a chocolate bar will make one of those kids than giving them 50 pesos.

I was outside a disco in Jakarta around 3:30 AM getting some local street food with my "date" for the evening. A bunch of kids started panhandling us hard. My date started to give them money. I told her put her money away, we're talkin about $2. Instead, I had the guy feed meals to about a dozen kids for $8 bucks. The locals around the food stalls liked that a lot, but they also pointed out the kids' boss basically seething across the road and they made sure we got into a cab safely.

IMHO giving money to child beggars in these locals only hurts the situation.

I get a high fever just about every time I go. Usually, I never get sick and consider myself healthy. When I start out my trip, I feel like a hard charger. When I touch back down in America, I feel as if I have never been sicker.

So the last trip, I took 1 Gram of Azithromycin and 500 mg of Cipro. The main reason why I took this dosage was to prevent infection of ghonnorhea or chlamydia. The dosage above did seem to be secondarily effective against the usual fever though.

Some may ask why didnt I wait until I had the infection or fever to take the antibiotics and why didnt I get a prescription from a doctor. Seeing a doctor and getting a prescription is obviously the wisest course of action. Its never a good idea to self-medicate.

However, I do date women here in the US so I wanted to be 100% certain that nothing came back with me. I do get tested for HIV (regularly) too and know that no antibiotics will cure that.

My opinion is that young slender Russian/Eastern European women are very good looking. However, I looked at the rates and prices for such a trip and the cost was far higher then in other parts of the world. I have also read that its easier to get ripped off in that part of the world then in Asia. (You can also find Ukranian women in Israel.)

The one part of the world where you can get ANY type of woman is Dubai. Although, it does come at a higher price then most other locations. You can even find young slender Persian (Iranian) women there which are arguably the best looking women in the world.

Taking antibiotics as prophyaxis can result in bacterial resistance among the flora that reside normally in your large bowel.

If they develop resistance to Cipro, then the drug will be useless against those bacteria in the future if you develop, say, prostatitis, or bacterial sepsis due to appendicitis, diverticulitis, or a bowel perforation.

If you are certain it was the ice that got you, the best course of action is simply to avoid the ice.

Also, get vaccinated against Hep A (2 injections 5-6 months apart).

The most likely cause of your diarrhea, however, is either Enterotoxigenic E. Coli (ETEC) or, the mere fact that the E. Coli in their water is a different strain from ours.

Pepto Bismol (2 tbsp every 1/2-1 hour up to 8 doses per 24 hours) OR Donnagel (2 tbsp every 3 hours up to 4 does in 24 hours) are helpful with this, and you won't develop bacterial resistance as these are not antibiotics. Stock up at Costco or some other similar cheap source before you depart.

This is an interesting situation. Lets say you monger more then 3 times in a year; which seems common on this message board. Each time you go, lets say you get sick. Would it be best to avoid the antibiotics and tough the fever out?

I dont mean for the penis on fire sickness, but for general fever and cough.

The one thing you cant avoid is the ladies. You can eat cooked food and not drink the water, but the ladies drink the water and then you kiss the ladies.

well antibiotics doesn't do crap for viral infections (i.e. fevers)... bacterial respiratory infections yes.

"well antibiotics doesn't do crap for viral infections (i.e. fevers)... bacterial respiratory infections yes."

Exactly!

The treatment for viral infections is symptomatic, i.e., you take a medicine to alleviate your symptoms and make you feel better while your immune system is attacking the virus.

IMHO the best avaiable cold medicine out there today is called (inappropriately, since a cold has nothing to do with influenza) Ther-Flu. Get the tabs, not the tea. Stock up at Costco or similar. The Nighttime in the green box works better (it has the antihistamine) and less than in 1 in 5 get drowsy from it.

Take it at the very sign of a cold, i.e., if you get a scratchy throat or it otherwise crosses your mind that you may be coming down with a cold, start right away and you should escape the full-blown syndrome.

I am going to ac for the first time in march and would like to have dome pointers. Thanks

By Sandman on Sunday, January 14, 2007 - 03:47 am:  Edit

FT-Get yourself a cold 6 pack of beer, set aside about 5-6 hours and read to your hearts content the trip reports and guides to AC that can easily be found on CH. There are literally hundreds of pages.....

If you can't find what you are looking for there, it probably does not exist.

Dome pointers? Is this another lazy monger that doesnt like to read?

By Don Marco on Sunday, January 14, 2007 - 10:30 am:  Edit
