I had never been to this place before on several trips to AC, and was shocked at how much I enjoyed the food there. It's on Perimeter Rd. near Honey Ko's. They offer a 1 lb. hamburger that's as big as a fucking soccer ball. I was never brave enough to try one, but Bigballs Bud did, and then seemed to want one every day!
In addition to the excellent menu, they sell deli meats and butcher cuts. The steaks look fantastic and got great reviews from friends, and they will cook your steak to order as you pick it out from the meat counter. I tried the Hungarian sausages prepared at a bbq at Patio Inn by friends, and they were awesome as well.
Downside is that quality ain't particularly cheap, menu items seem to all be in the p200+ range. For a rich guy like ME, however, money is no object!

There is also a Bretto's deli in Puerto Galera and Subic, but no restaraunt. That burger in AC was the my first meal when I arrived last month.

I haven't been there the last couple of trips, but it was a nice place for a burger or sandwich. Wish it was within reasonable walking distance though.
BTW, I remember reading that Bretto (the owner/founder, etc.) passed away a couple of months ago. I wonder what that means for the future of this place.

Still a place where I'd definitely recommend the food. My favorite is the Italian Sub. Much better than Sub Delicious' and I LIKE Sub D's.

Hey Porker:
Did you eat at Bretto's during a recent trip?
When I was there in December the windows were boarded up with plywood and the place was all locked up.
Maybe it was just closed, but it was daytime and the plywood on the windows was kind of surprising.

Might have had boards on the windows due to an incoming typhoon. Brettos is open, business as usual.

Yeah, ate there in early January. Bigballs doesn't get up before noon so he didn't join me!

Since we are reviewing restaurants, I ate here a couple of times my last trip as well as a few previous trips. I like this place. Official IAS seal of approval. It's good.

Bretto's was always a favorite of mine.
These days I seem to eat half my meals at the mall. Fast food, half price of anyplace else.
