I have a friend who loved the place. I ended up staying at Sandy Springs, which fulfilled my needs, AC worked and the bed was firm.

any more reviews of Areca? I have passed by it a lot on the way to Lólita's on Soi Metro LK, but have never stayed there. Mojo.

It's nice but out of the way.
Sandy Springs is slightly cheaper, quiet and a dynamite location for dropping of and picking up with the bhat bus.
My buddy stayed at the Areca on our last trip and will stay at the Sandy Springs in March.
I don't think I would stay anywhere else from now on.

I just stayed at the Areca and I liked it very much. Two great pools. a useable gym, golf outings, decent breakfast included and no problems with joiners. I actally stayed in that area mostly, only going to Walking St once! THe Club Oasis has some hot girls at decent prices and there are tons of beer bar and massage options near there, not to mention Lólita's for a pro blow and hell Club for a session with some very morally ambiguous Thai ladies. I would highly recommend this hotel.

I will be at the Areca Lodge again apr 26-may ? a few days in pattaya then off to Hua Hin for a change with friends. I like the Areca. I got a price of 1300 B for a Standard room, which is just fine. Nice pools, breakfast included( which is decent) and the staff is cool. I used to stay at the Dynasty and I do like the big showers there, but thier prices have gone up and thier value has not.
