Can someone remind me of the exact name of the "Pres" hotel near Nana plaza? There seem to be several listed on the web. As I recall, there was a "Pres" immediately as you turn the corner off Nana to the right and onto Sukh??
Also, is the Nana Hotel really that bad? I've seen so many postings putting the place down - are these exaggerations?

I happen to like the Nana Hotel - for the price it's not bad at all. Not a 4 star or even 3 star hotel by any means but clean comfortable rooms and you cannot beat the location obviously.
No Pres hotel near Nana on Sukhumvit.
First hotel on right is Majestic Suites then Landmark. To the left is JW Marriot.
On soi 11 is President Solitaire and Grand President. Closest President hotels I know of.
Soi 13 is Royal President.

I'm going to be in BKK for one night on the front end and the back end of a Philippine trip. How far is the action from the airport and what hotel would you recommend that I stay in.

It's a 20-30 minute taxi ride to the Nana Plaza area at night. For one night I WOULD recommend the Nana Hotel or the Dynasty which is across the street. Right smack in the middle of all the action and for one night not a bad room for the price.
