Hi everyone,

Soon I'll be in Bangkok for the first time on official business. I'll have 4-5 evenings free to "taste" the real LOS. I've read a number of posts and reports, but too much information and too little time to sort things out. Can you help me to make a top 5-10 list of best places and activities for my situation? A little bit of everything the city has to offer for a newbie mongerer...Thanks a lot-

I would be happy to try to cater info to your needs, but IMO you need to narrow your personal preferences down a bit. I presume you are solely interested in mongering options. Also available - excellent shopping, superb Hotels, an abundance of fine restaurants, unlimited sightseeing and entertainment.

Regarding mongering there are a diverse range of venues available. Beer bars, dicos, clubs, go-go bars, freelancers, massage parlours, etc. It really does depend on your personal preferences.

As an LOS resident I am based in Angelwitch (floor 2 NEP) and would be happy to share with you what is HOT or NOT. You could start in Angelwitch Go-Go Bar, simply the best Show bar Thailand has ever seen. The beautiful Showgirls could melt the heart of the devil...Up to you!

We are aware that Shows are not for everybody but if you are into hot babes...

NANA PLAZA also has the four RAINBOW BARS which contain the highest "quantity of quality" that a monger can lay his eyes or hands on! In terms of volume of eye candy the Rainbow Bars are tops...

Your welcome Sir! Regarding Go-Go Bars my personal preference of areas is - (1) NANA PLAZA - (2) SOI COWBOY - (3) PATPONG.

NANA PLAZA for pure volume of hotties & partying!

SOI COWBOY for fun and great Happy Hours.

PATPONG - a walk on the wild side for a change.

Overall Nana Plaza has the most attractive go-go girls but Soi Cowboy has been slowly improving a bit just lately. Patpong remains fixed in third but occasionally worth a visit for a change.

BEER BAR AREAS - No particular order of preference...

SOI 22 (TITANIUM & FLAMING MOE'S) - SOI 33 (THE OFFICE & THE LONDONER) - SOI 5 (GULLIVER'S) - SOI NANA (MORNING NIGHT, HILLARY 2 & BIG DOGS)

Go to see "Manos" in FLAMING MOE'S (Queen's Park Plaza inside soi 22). One of the best guys I ever met in BKK and now a good friend. Manos has vast knowledge of the mongering scene here and is a really cool guy to hang out with.

FLAMING MOE'S is my favourite beer bar when I can escape from Nana Plaza! Very cheap draft beer with an incredible Happy Hour. Hot pies are available and an added bonus - Manos has a very decent rest room. Other benefits incluse fairly new pool table, smart and clean bar, and also Manos is usually open very late. I seriously recommend that fellow mongers visit Manos in Flaming Moe's, you will not be disappointed.

Even if you are not into small beer bars (not my first choice) it is well worth meeting the main man Manos and his lovely ladies!

BTW - RIP Sir Bob Hope, the British born American comedian legend. One of the very best entertainers the world is ever likely to see in human history. A great, great man - if I could only be a bit like Sir Bob Hope, I would be a contented entertainer. May the Lord bless his soul.

I see you wasted no time in getting to know the Angelwitches. Some mongers can be real party poopers but you were like a kid in a candy store. This is what makes all my efforts worthwhile. We were so packed last night I was kicked out of my seat at least three times. That was an exceptional Monday even by Angelwitch standards, the atmosphere was electric. Hope to see you again soon...
