I have just returned from Phuket where I stayed at the BanThai Beach Resort. I would discourage anyone from staying there. Although the rooms were nice, for 120.00/day, which is what I paid, I would expect that to be the case. There is a joinder fee of 500 BHT per visitor, not per day. Additionally, what I was not told was that if a guest takes a visitor to breakfast, which is included in the room charge for guests, there is an additional 300 BHT for the visitor. In other words, if you want to take your girl to breakfast the total cost, girl and breakfast is 800 BHT. However, it doesn't end there. The service isn't great, decent but, not great and, if you want an extra bottle of water that is going to cost you 10 BHT. Really, for 120 BHT per day they could have thrown in the water.
