Yes, thank you, El Apodo, as that is my intention-to accompany HughGReckshin to the Philippines and finally see once and for all what all the fuss is about. It's now or never.

I need to get away from LA for a while. And I wholeheartedly agree with your other suggestion, I need to get out of TJ, especially now where it's almost a lawless town with all the cops turning in their firearms.

I am not so much eager to root out the lies (if any) or possible major exaggeration of Hugh's post, but determined to get to the bottom of every TR thread on SEA once and for all. As I've said before, nobody ever comes back from anywhere in SEA disappointed or saying it was a waste of time and money.

I even met Blazers, Merlin, Sancho and a few other mongers who's handle escapes me right now, who told me of the great times to be expected while in the Philippines.

I am repeatedly told by some very close friends, when I do go to the Philippines, this will be a guaranteed once once-in-a-lifetime trip to where I will have died and gone to heaven. The only downside, as I have also been repeatedly warned, (even from this forum) of the lack of weight-challenged women in SEA. Oh, well. You can't have it all ways.

Some were rollovers from RS, others joined this site the first year and still others have only been part of this community for only the last few months. Is it quantity of posts? Many TRs have some facts in them. They range from Lonely Planet entries to Penthouse Forum letters. Some are factual accounts, others steamy selfcongratulatory wanking, others complete, undistilled fantasy - most fall somewhere inbetween those extremes. Hugh explained himself and when challenged provided pictures of a few girls. Until someone verifies this as false why can't we just say "Ok. Have fun on your next trip. Looking forward to the next report and set of pics."

You may be correct Epi. Then again, the reporters you mentioned didn't enter the board and receive immediate respect either. They built up their credibility throughout the years generally starting on the old Redsnake board in Tijuana and branching out from there. Granted, in those days it was MUCH easier for newbies to receive substantiation than today. Tijuana was simple, easy and close to home for many. A quick jump across the border could verify these claims (and did) often overnight. With people reporting from all corners of the globe today it is much more difficult to determine what is real and what is not.

In Hugh’s case, it's also a matter of style. Look at Merlin's groundbreaking reports in China and Indonesia. He doesn't say that everyone is dying to jump into bed with him. He lays out those venues in a believable fashion stating both the good and the bad. According to Hugh, EVERYTHING is good in Iligan. Hugh obviously has had a great time there, but nothing is that good.

Additionally, Hugh's response to the criticisms was entirely overblown. He actually called out Blazers by asking him if he had ever been to the PI. Blazers' work on the PI "bibles" gives him just a little credibility when he calls bullshit.

I am not suggesting that every newbie needs to go through the vetting process that I suggested for Hugh, but it's apparent that no matter what he says many on this board will not believe him. I think that, in this case, this is the only way to validation.

Perhaps with your re-born interest in the PI, you should be the one to verify his claims. You’ve earned your respect here, and I’m sure coming from you guys would believe it one way or the other.

Excellent points El Apado. I've met plenty of bullshitters and read plenty on this board from guys who claim to go to Brasil/Mexico/Colombia/wherever and meet a girl a half hour after they arrive and she fucks him for free the whole weekend. While it's true that many of us vets should encourage posting instead of discourging them, you will notice that integrity is fairly important to the vet mongers on this site because without the integrity, bullshit starts to become the norm on TR's and the site goes down the toilet overnight. I guess a few of us are the CH bullshitter police and sometimes we beat an innocent person whom we think it's a criminal...it's not an accurate science fettering out bs posts but egomaniacs and bs posts are just not good for any site.

It is important the information on the site bears a reasonable semblance to reality, at least those posts that purport to give accurate information about a mongering destination. People use trip reports as a basis for choosing where to spend their vacation time. For example, my recent trip to China never would have happened in the absence of the recent trip reports here about Chang Ping and Zhuhai. If they had been fictional, at best I would have lost alot of time. At worst I might have gotten myself into some jams.

For a variety of reasons, some of which are obvious and others of which may not be, some of the veterans on this site are concerned about whether Hugh's trip report is accurate or fictional. Under such circumstances I don't think a rule that we all have to hold our thoughts is appropriate nor desirable. If the report is indeed fictional and a newbie (or anyone) decided to take a trip based on it, that would be at least as great a shame as if those who are challenging its veracity are wrong.

I might add the original trip report, before it was edited by the administrator of this site, could have created serious public relations problems (and perhaps worse) for this site if it had gotten into the wrong hands. Using this as a starting point, I myself am less inclined to lose any sleep over whatever possibility exists that Hugh is being unfairly challenged regarding the veracity of his information.

It should also be noted well that it is not the norm for trip reports to be challenged in the manner this one has been. This is an exceptional circumstance bred by a report that seemed, even if it were accurate, to be reporting very out of the ordinary facts. If, instead, newbie trip reports were as a matter of course attacked by the veterans, that would be an entirely different story. But it doesn't happen.

All ya gotta do is go back and read Jags NOOB trip report to Rio. Nobody believed that but it really happened.....! As his reputation grew so did his TR's (mega-novels). I think it was a style issue.

Maybe HGR is suffering from the same "style issue" syndrome.

M Bates, I do think you will have trouble finding a large quantity of "weight challenged" girls where you are going, unless they are over 30, but good luck and keep up posted.

This is a community and we are all in a relationship of sorts with one another. When someone joins, they are like the new kid in class that doesnt have any friends, enemies or credibility. Someone needs time to settle in and get to know everyone and visa versa. First of all, before I defend the validity and credibility of this poster (not the trip report itself) I just want to say a word of thanks to Epimetheus, Scatmandoo, Jaguar, Priew100, LAGuy, Sandman and Jaguar for their encouragement in their extolled demeanor which is an effort to thwart off the flamers (I won't mention names)where it seems their only enjoyment in contributing anything to this Trip Report is to throw insults coupled with facetious innuendos which only makes them appear as welcome to this thread as a turd in a punch bowl.

Instead of behaving like a bunch of children at some day care center where the teacher goes to the restroom for a minute, where some kid at the back of the class has to start name-calling, while someone else has to use a rubber band between his fingers to use as a projectile in shooting a wet wad of paper at the back of some other kid's neck, why don't you just give HughG.Reckshin a break?

Well, MB, we WILL disbelieve your trip report if you describe how, upon arriving in AC, you stepped out of your taxi and were immediately accosted by a bunch of whale-sized women who fulfilled your every fat-filled fantasy for free.

But I don't find Hugh's exploits too far from a possible (if somewhat exaggerated and embellished) actual experience. Call me gullible (and I know you will, Smitty), but I have heard enough about Filipinas in remote areas, and experienced enough during my visits to the Philippines, to maybe believe HGR--especially if he's good-looking with game (I don't believe we know about this, one way or the other--or maybe I just missed it amid all the controversy above).

I myself have already been planning to visit some of the less-traveled places in Mindanao (Davao, General Santos), perhaps I'll add Iligan City to the itinerary.

Hugh, keep up the trip reporting, don't mind the doubters here--they're professional doubters, and like molds, have a valuable place in nature.

Actually MB, the Philippines is different than the rest of the mongering destinations oversease in that fat girls are the norm, not the exception. You would have a hell of a time finding fat girls in Thailand but they are everywhere in the Philippines, especially when you meet civilian girls. I do not know HughGRekshin. Granted, my study on this site and its dozens of reports leads me to conclude that his trip report is extraordinary. However, following are the reasons I am not going to bash or get involved in back-and-forth gossip suitable for western bitches that we all loathe:

1. You cannot prove he is not a clone of another person. Only hombre and CH's billing company could verify his billing information, and we are not about verification of self on this site, are we?
2. You cannot prove he is lying. Has anyone else gone there to check it out? I haven't, and you haven't either. I reasonably believe information after it is repeated by other reporters. There is no other report to compare this one to.
3. You cannot prove his accounts are fiction. Little boys repeat, "prove it" until even logic is replaced by ego. Look, nobody forces anything down your throat here. You don't have to believe anything written. Why clog up the thread with a cock battle when personal attacks are best suited for PMs? I want to read about pussy, not cock!
4. It is his first report, and every reporter exudes lots of personality, albeit mild or zesty, in their first reports. Can any of us deny that we get laughs out of reports in addition to information? Can any of us claim that we never embellish?

From what I see of CH, it is an excellent site of information and discussion. If you want to start a thread for your Princeton Debating Society to weigh validity of each report or reporter, I tell you now that I would not read it.

Those of you who bring your emotions to this site are making a mistake, IMHO. Laughter is the only emotion I will exude from these pages. I cannot tell you how much money I have saved by reading CH, and of the travel plans executed and made for later times. I appreciate especially the trip reports.

HughGRekshin, may I suggest adopting little bits of writing styles into your own, from some of the veteran writes here, especially the ones who are more actuarial, citing girls, costs, places, names, times, dates, etc. This will aid other mongers in planning and consideration. I spoke to another member who knows Hugh and he cleared up my questions. Basically, mine and the guys summations were accurate. Older guy, tipping the scales in a big way, been going to the PI for years, has filipina wife, feeds the girls bullshit stories about house in PI and need for wife. Buys the girls lots of shit, takes them on expensive shopping trips. Is lying to girls but probably paying more than most mongers due to the shopping trips. End of story.

A lot of us have heavy-duty bullshit detectors. If you've traveled around the world a lot, lived around, worked, as well as mongered from one continent to another and are smart enough, you get one. You run into enough crooks, scammers, losers, posers, whack jobs, nut bars, druggies, neurotics, psychopaths, sociopaths and straight-up liers to know when you see them, hear them or read shit they wrote.

All I can say is WOW .....This thread is crazy!

My mistake, the proper spelling is one word, "nutbar". Not seperate words, although the alternate construction of "nut-bar" is acceptable though not preferred.
