What are your thoughts on the Art Bars in gneeral? I never pulled any girls from there and the barfine seemed unreasonable. Do you prefer the Art Bar scene to say, Nana Plaza or Cowboy?

It's quite a different scene. I've had a couple of girls from the artist bars. It's more laid back, less noisy, no nudity(some of you go 'forget it'). Bar fines ranges from 1200-1700, average 1500. Higher prices on weekends and on certain girls.

My first girl there was 1700+2000 for short time.

The art bars really do not cater to thrill seeking mongers on sex vacations. Their clientel is mainly ex-pats and businessmen since
they provide a much more acceptable atmosphere for business entertainment than Nana, Cowboy or Patong.
If you're not on an expense account or per diem, then the art bars probably aren't for you!

I am sure that you will find the bar fines not too bad at the Office Bar - I can not remember right now what they were, only to say that I did have some wonderful experiences.
Actually if you visit, ask for Sam or Bob (aussies guys) who own the place and tell them Docpepper said to say hello. They know me personally so will put you on the right track.
Quite a different scene from the 'other' bars in the area. Worth a visit for a 'cheap' beer at least.

I was in The Office last night, and I must report that I was pleased with the selection of girls. It was pretty early (7 p.m.) and there were hardly any customers, but man there were some really smokin' babes in this place.

Must admit that this is one of my favorite places in Soi 33 and a wonderful place to "get in the mood" to start a night on the town.

Right now, it would be hard to find anywhere better in the Art Bars, methinks.

Nice selection of girls here. If you can get a seat at the bar do so. Behind the bar is where most of the girls hang out. Some real cute girls here. Like all 33 Bars it's expensive here. Nice place for a drink and to check out the scene. However the 1500 Baht B/F is high.

This place is a favorite for many Local ex-Pats.

Can anyone offer recent info on this bar? Are the girl selection still good and what is the current BF? Also, what's the going rate for ST and LT? Thanks for any info.

I used to go to 33 alot. Based on my current domestic situation, I don't get there that often, anymore. I still have a bottle at Dali that I've been working on for almost 7 months, now. Having said that, I know 33. I've never much cared for The Office. Yes, they have a ton of girls. But, in my experience, they are some of the most average looking girls on the soi. Obviously, that's just my opinion. But, if you're going to pay soi 33 prices, you might as well be surrounded by extremely attractive women. That's never been my experience in The Office.

As to barfine prices, The Office is one of the few (if not the only) bar on soi 33 that has a sliding barfine. I believe that it starts out at the standard (for 33) 1500 baht. As the night wears on it goes down to 1000 and, finally, 800 baht. I think the 800 baht barfine kicks in after midnight. I could be wrong about these figures, but I'm relatively certain that I'm correct. Have a good time, mate.

Agree with Mano on all counts. the figures are correct and I totally agree with his take that this is the poorest place on the street in terms of quality pooying. I cannot stand the layout or theme of the bar either. It's loud and far from relaxing. If I want that kind of atmosphere I'll go to NEP pay a whole lot less and get a whole lot more.

I did the Soi 33 tour on Jan 2. The best lookers in my oppinion were at Dali. I almost thought about BF'ing a very nice girl but the price was a bit high
1500Baht and it was early and I had other things to do and see. I thought about returning for her later but I got lassoed on Soi Cowboy.

I guess I will pop in to the Office for a look but I guess I should check out Dali also. Any other bars on Soi 33 that are recommended? Also, what is the expectation of the girls in terms of how much should be paid for LT/ST?

As with the rest of the Thailand scene the quality varies week to week it seems. Monet has always had a fairly consistently good lineup as has Dali - as already mentioned . The rest are worth a look if nothing jumps all over you at the first two.

I usually find that Dali and Napoleon have the best looking girls. As with all venues, they also have some girls that are nothing to write home about. But, in my experience, over the last year the two above-mentioned bars have the consistently best talent.

i agree, dali, napoleon and monet are always steady. I have had girls from all three, there are some girls w/major rackage in dali and monet.

I have had great fun with the bartenders from big shots bar, but the bar girls there weren't so hot. I ended up drinking with the bartenders after hours at Hollywood and took home one of the bartenders and her sister. Later on that same trip I took one of the other bartenders home.

hit and miss in the office, i usually stop in for a look see, I picked up an 18 year old cutie last time, we were watching american football in bed at 4:30 in the morning and when they showed the cheerleaders she said to me, "I am a cheerleader at school", yes it was a classic.

I do like the scene there a little better than Nana or Soi Cowboy. If you go early there are usually happy hour drinks.

One more piece of info I need to venture to places like Monet, Dali, etc is how much to pay the girls. If I pay Soi 33 girls similar to what I pay NEP girl will that work or should I pay them more?

They expect a bit more, but it's nothing outrageous. I've never had a short-time out of soi 33. I pay 3000 long-time and have never had any complaints. To be honest, my worst experience out of soi 33 rivals my best out of Nana or Cowboy. Obviously, results may vary, but this is one situation where I really think you get what you pay for.

I have never had a Soi 33 girl ever ask what I would pay her and I would NEVER ST out of there. With a 1500 baht barfine what's the point of ST from those bars ??
I usually give the girl 3K baht as Mano has posted and have never had a complaint. The girls that I have pulled from there were in general a bit more sophisticated and somewhat more adept sexually than their Nana counterparts. More fun to take on a " date " type evening . It's not a huge difference -- if the price turns you off -- stick with the go gos.

Same here 3000 baht, and occasionally 2500. Overall the girls are great for dinner and a night on the town, or just heading back for a night of fun. I have always had a good time with soi 33 girls. The mamasan at Napoleon has taken good care of me and made solid recommendations twice in the last year.

I barfined girls out of a couple of the Soi 33 bars a couple years ago, and would agree that you tend to get a bit more sophisticated girl than in the go-go's or Nana bars. (Although one of them turned out to be a stalker psycho type! yikes! maybe too much of a GFE???) But by the time you pay for a few overpriced drinks to get to know the girl you like (sometimes selecting from only a handful to maybe a dozen girls, depending on the bar), then the barfine, and finally the girl, you've spent a pretty penny. I personally found that for that kind of money, might as well go to one of the discos like Q-Bar, CM2, Bed Club, etc. and have a much bigger selection of lookers. Even gotten away on several occasions in the latter locales with some very attractive ladies for 2000 LT (despite the high end price reputation of these places) especially after 1:00 pm on slow nights. Last week, I was back in one of the Soi 33 bars and came to the conclusion things haven't changed much. Had a beer and decided it really wasn't for me. IMHO, I think that although the girls in many of these bars do present some advantages, you can do just as well if not better, elsewhere for less money.

I wasn't aware working girls 'worked' Bed Supper Club. How do you tell them apart from run-of-the-mill customers?

Hey Zuperfly, I hope the "easy pickin's" of the GoGo's in Bangkok, haven't made you forget how to pick up a woman! Just kidding of course, but like most of the upscale night clubs (QBar, Spasso, etc). you clearly don't just go up and ask them "Hey babe, how much for short time?". Well, ok I suppose you could, but the consequences might be a lot different than you'd get if you asked the same thing in a beer bar in Nana Plaza. I think the ratio of working to non-working girls in Bed is probably lower than in, say, CM2 or certainly Nana disco, but in general, you approach it like you would any other pickup bar where there are freelancers. Start talking to the lady, and if she acts interested in you, you'll either have a good shot at a freebie (if you're handsome, well toned, rich and in your 20's) or get a P4P if you are otherwise. If she doesn't want to give you the time of day, either's she's just not interested in you as a customer, or that really is her boyfriend on the otherside of her!
