...After living here for 8 months:

1. New Orleans -- Soi 13/3

Never been disappointed. Not even once! A bit pricey, but excellent food and service. Got a Thai date? This is NOT the place for you. New Orleans style cuisine, but no Thai menu. Of all things, their secondary menu is Filipino food. Go figure.

2. Lobster Pot -- Walking Street.

Again, not the cheapest place in town to eat, but excellent food and service. Right on the water.

3. Sea Zone -- Walking Street.

See my take on Lobster Pot. Same same. Try the cream clam soup!

4. Fra Pattaya -- South Pattaya Road near the mouth of Walking Street.

Now we're talking cheap eats. Healthy stuff done quazi-Thai, but you can score deep fried shrimp and great carved duck if you're not counting calories. NOTE: Don't be afraid of the word "fried" that preceeds just about everything on the menu. They mean stir fried.

5. Tequila Reef -- Soi 7.
Upfront, I want to say this joint is hit and miss. Priced in the mid-range. As of this writing, they open around 3pm and the earlier you go, the less you will be impressed. Chips will be left over from the day before, for example. They seem to start their prep work right after opening for some reason. With that said, for Mexican, it really can't be beat in Pattaya. Also good ribs. They do not have a knife that will cut their steaks -- literally -- so don't even think about ordering one.

Thanks Brianinvegas
I will be in Pattaya in a few days and I have always had good mexican at Tequila Reef admittedly I get there around 9pm and have never tried their steaks. I found New Orleans a little disappointing last trip but at the Sea Zone although the food is decent and service excellent you are really paying for the view, you should also try the beefeater near the corner of soi 13 and 2nd street its in a little shopping centre very decent steaks, not bad pricing and a dam sight better then the 99bht place across next door.
