Recommended Go Go Bars: Classroom 1, Soi Pattayaland 2, Peppermint Go Go, Walking Street, Dollhouse, Walking Street, Happy a Go Go, Off Walking Street.

Recommended beer bars are mentioned for their friendly staff and music. The one on the corner of Beach Road and Soi 4 doesn't charge a bar fine. Beer Bar fines are 200 baht. The rest is between you and your favorite lady or ladies.

Recommended Go Go's are for music and quality of the Girls. Best shows are Happy's and Peppermint. Go Go Bar fines are 500 baht with a rumor that Mistey's is charging 600 Baht. Again the rest is up to you and your lady.

Added benefit to Pattaya visit is the Golf. Best value in Green fees and caddies anywhere that I know.

The number of tourists are down. Girls are plentiful. This was my fourth trip and the least crowded I've seen Pattaya.

Also went to Chiang Mai and truly enjoyed the change of pace. Not as many Beer Bars and Go Go's only found two Go Go's the Spotlight and John's Place or Cheers. Don't bother with the Spotlight. Water Buffalo and not very friendly.

Hope this helps the next lucky guy to make a trip. As for me, I won't be able to get over to LOS until mid 2003.

Just got back from the latest trip to Pattaya

Don't get conned into taking the second class bus from Ekami. A normal two hour trip turned into a five hour stop-go-stop-go nightmare. Nearly missed happy hour at the Happy go-go

Now the Happy is one Happy Happy place especially if you are Khi Niaw (Mean) like me - I'm a Yorkshireman so I am excused.
Happy hour is from 7pm - deserted till 9pm well rocking. 30 Baht drinks and they even come round to warn when time is nearly up and you can line up your next drinks. (Amazing Thailand!!)

500 Baht bar fine and 600 for the showgirls. Worth every extra Baht. But well that story is for the next installment.

And for the other quality establishments - well a quick sprint or stagger up the street and up the escalators takes you to Pepermint a-go-go happy hour till 9.30 and a lesbian show that is par-exellance

So many more thai's are speaking "get by" english. the place is not as diesel smoked as before, the side soi's are now paved and have runoff sewage pipes. I have noticed the bar girls are definitely older. There are also fat girls for sale. I don't ever remember seeing this before. This tells me that the thais are now becoming lax and westernized. I used to see 16-23 yr olds with no kids and a great attitude, but not anymore. the new generation pro is 18-26, has a cel phone, lost her natural smile and is aids educated. Not as much military presence as I expected. I see some full on stunners, but they are usually with a guy in the daytime running errands, and this tells me she is bar fined until he leaves. The hotels are not full and a great value. Pools uncrowded. An excellent deal for budget travelers is 320b/day weekly rate split ac/19"tv,queen bed,clean, no elevator or pool at the pc inn pattaya 2 road between soi 8 and 9. Found a decent gym at the weekender hotel 2nd floor. Next to sabai room. You can work out for 600b for 2 wks includes use of hotel pool and wet/dry saunas. small motorcycle rental can be negotiated to 100b/day. adventure seekers, go to Pattaya park tower. 200b elevator ride to 360 view/revolving restaurants and choice of ways to get down included in price. I chose the solo harness ride on a cable. also the Pneumatic vertical ride is a great adrenaline rush. 2 runs for 200b. Best time to hit massage parlors is 2pm when they open. best selection and not crowded. There is still prime pussy here for the taking, but you gotta start your hunt early. The guys who say negative things about Pattaya want all the prime puss for themselves. I can't stand the guys who reserve the prime girls gash for days, c'mon fellas, bust yur nut and let someone else have a go!

There are a few to look at for this service - the Penthouse Hotel offers it, so does classroom agogo - not sure of the costs involved but rumoured to be around $200-$250 bucks.
Normally I arrive later (closer to midnight, rent taxi and tell him to drive in time to get me there by 1:30am).

Hi guys - I've only recently joined CH because I'm planning a trip to Pattaya early next year. When is the best time to go to avoiud rainy weather and the high tourist season? Can I arrive without having a pre-booked hotel? Do the girls let you film them in private? Which hotel (not crap but not expensive) would you recommend? How much is the taxi fare from BK to P? Rainy season is August to mid November.

High season is November to March.

Should arrive with a pre-booked hotel if traveling during high season. Other times is not necessary.

Girls in Thailand are very shy, but will do almost anything for money. Ask and offer more money if they are not agreeable and you really want to film. Or use your powers of persuasion.

I recommend Eastiny Place and Residence Garden. You can read about them both in the Pattaya threads.

Pay no more than 1500 baht for taxi from Pattaya to Thailand. The range could be anywhere between 800 and 1500. Be sure to haggle with the driver.

Even though they like to label February as high season....I think it's the best month to go...starting with the end of January....Thailand is pretty tame to almost dead until Songkran.

Agree with Blazers. If no other influences force me to go another time I think February is the best month for LOS. Not the blazing heat of April yet. Not raining much and much fewer tourists when compared to Dec and Jan. Air and hotel rates unfortunately still at high season but the price differences are not that much and more than compensated for by the advantages mentioned.

Cash is the great racial equalizer here. You'll have no problem in general, although i'm sure some gals don't want to do a brother for whatever reason. Although they are hookers and this is paid sex, there's got to be some chemistry...you'll quickly know if there is some when you chat to a chick-- at least I do. I imagine if a particular girl is ethnically challenged, the dude will be well aware at the on-set.

Thailand is like everywhere else. Racism definitely exists. Many Thai girls refuse barfines from black guys but many do not. Part of the reason for refusal on the part of the girls has nothing to do with racism-- they are afraid of the size of black men. Many of the girls have never been with a black guy - just heard stories about size and you could not pay them enough to go with a black man. In Pattaya the problem is less than BKK due to the presence of the US Navy. They have " broken in " the local population, thus paving the way for your friends. LOL

Seriously -- racism is present as it is anywhere. Your friends will find plenty of girls who are more than willing to accompany them however. Go and have fun-- your friends will have a great time .

No Russians in go gos for sure. You'll find an occasional Lao or Khmer girl but I have never seen a non asian working a go go. The Russians would be found as freelancers or rarely asa sideline girl in a soapy.

This is Hobbyist dream vacation. There most be 50-100 bars with 25-50 girls in each. I took the free shuttle from the Dyansty in Bangkok to the Dynasty Inn in Pattaya . Great Price ,although the location is a little further from walking street than I would have liked. It was difficult to make a decision with so many options available. I wound up seeing a great show at the Galaxy, and brought home 2 girls form the show that were doing a mimic lesbian show. Nice time overall, and again great prices, generally $25-50 with slightly higher prices for the showgirls

Dave, I'll go into much more detail when i write a trip report, but in short I haven't been wowed by any gogo lineup in pattaya-- I much prefer NEP in terms of gogos and quality of selection. I don't wow easy though... so I don't expect many folks will share my opinion regarding pattaya lineups.

With that said, I've managed to dig up PERFECT girls for my tastes and line them up like never before. Usually on a trip I may find one or two I would consider truly gems. Now, I have anguish choosing among the diamonds in my portfolio. Each and every time, I've connected with each perfectly and although there's the expected drama, I consider each a friend (who I happen to fuck) and they've all gone way out of their way to make me a happy man.

I've never really been a beer bar fan for girls unless I find absolutely nothing in gogos or arrive at 3Am in pattaya and need some exercise. Nothing against them per say, as there are always diamonds in the rough to be found.

Peter - In Pattaya, I know that the Dynasty Inn has a side entrance, basically the driveway, that you can walk through to get to the elevators, totally bypass the lobby.

The guys that work at Dynasty are totally cool with whatever you want to do, it's the ladies that have issues, not so much with "how many" girls you bring in, but the look of the girls.

Last time I was there, the girls that worked at Dynasty were always smiling and happy when I brought girls back that looked either sweet or well mannered. The only time I got a bad stare, was when I brought back a girl that looked like trailer trash, not freaky-fuck machine trash, but just plain old low class-uneducated-uncivilized trash (and I think the dark skin didn't do much to help her out either).

I'd wager that it would take quite a bit to shock or offend workers in Pattaya hotels. I'm sure they've seen it all and are used to it on a daily basis. Unless you're planning on proposing marriage to one of the chicks that works in a hotel there, I REALLY wouldn't worry about what they think.

I was down in Pattaya fairly recently and Marine Disco is as KM said the roughest of the bunch. TONY'S and LUCIFER'S are a whole different class compared to Marine Disco. I just had to go to Marine Disco because I met my first Thai freelancer there way back in 1988. Feeling old just thinking about that LOL!

Marine until about 6-7 years ago was THE place in Pattaya for after hours pleasure! Was no other choice.
I would go nowhere near that place now. I went in a few years ago and it was more than 50% katoey. A scary sight indeed. I felt like George Clooney in From Dusk to Dawn !!

Ok fellow Hombres we need to keep these discus reports current. Was just at soi 16 along Walkingstreet and found at least 3 new go go's. My newbie buddy read about these go go's on the internet and asked me where they were at and I had no clue. Even though I have spent much time in Pattaya and I searched through the Hombre site. I'll start some new threads but there must have been some Hombres visiting these go go's since they opened in November. They are well worth reporting.

WALKING STREET will host a street party (AUG 11-13)to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Walking Street, and HM Queen's birthday on AUG 12. The event is even sponsored by a beer company. So, the good news is that all the bars should be open on the Queen's birthday. The only problem with these street parties is that they can obstruct people and the go-go bars can suffer as a result. Good effort by Pattaya though, great to see people putting on these events.

Bar closing times remain at 3.00am in Pattaya - therefore it is the bar owners decision if he wants to close before 3.00am. Then, for the party animals you can still go to late night discos and clubs. FYI - currently there are over 70 go-go bars in Pattaya, 40 of which are located in the Walking Street area. Has anyone besides me noticed the price of food in the 2nd road rest. these days. They are through the roof. I went to my favorite place and had a great steak for Baht180. I went back about 3 days later and the price for the same steak was baht235, now I ask you is more than a dollar raise good for business. They all know me here and when I saw the price I order rice and vegies and left. I have to find a cheaper place to eat in future even though all the places that I eat at on 2nd road have raised their prices. I was in another place that I frequent often and the beer went from baht80 to baht150 and a german did not look at the price before he drink 3 beers and when the bill came he went ballistic and had the manager over who would not even consider lowering the price. This guy was a regular customer here because I had seen him there before. So forget cheap in Pattaya anymore. The place has gone bangkok.

Last time I was in Pattaya (Sept 05), Diamond Agogo wasone of the better places to be and ended up with a girl from the bar for a chunk of my trip. I heard rumours that it changed hands after that - can anyone give an update on Diamond Agogo these days?

I was in Diamond go-go in October and was so impressed with the lineup that it was one of the first places I went on my last trip the 20th of December and the quality was nowhere near as good. Not to say there were'nt some OK girls but nothing like October IMHO

In davetheraves column this week, theres an interesting piece on Pattaya, saying that theres so many gogos and bars, that a lot of them are empty, the Russian and east European visiters are just couples and are not interested in the nightlife there, the Europeans Americans ozzys etc are there on family trips, so maybe its not the Thai government that could kill the nightlife there, but the lack of mongers.

Well I got my education yesterday. I got on a baht bus on soi bauhkour and a load of women got on too. I should have known, but as usual I had my head up my butt. It was so plain that they were taking my billfold and yet I did not catch it until they had it and my girl friend did not respond when I was accusing the crook of taking my billfold. She got off the bus and got on a bike that was following along behind and off they went with my money, ATM card and american driver licenses. What I cannot figure out is how they got into my bank account without a pin. They cleaned out my bank account too and it did not take them very long to do it. How in the hell did they do it unless they had an accomplice in the bank Siam Commerical Bank of Thailand. It is scarey as all get out. My lady and I went to the police station and picked them out of their pictures. They had their names and addresses and they were laughing at me as they seem to know them quite well. Needless to say they have not gotten back in touch with me and according to my lady they will not. I guess the only way to get any action out of them is to have the press present when you file a complaint. Anyway it has been an costly experience. Anyone have any ideas about how to get some action from the police.

Pay for performance is the Thai way. Offer them a reward and they just might spring into action and become Pattaya Five O.

In Cambodia I was advised once by an expat that there is a cultural difference in the way you look at police work. He pointed out that if you were victimized in a crime and required medical attention, you would obviously expect to pay the doctor for medical attention even though you were a victim through no fault of your own. And the quality of the medical care you received may well depend on how much you pay. So he advised that rather than bemoan having to pay off police, simply look at it as payment for professional police services. If you want a proper, professional police investigation. Pay for one. But of course you may also have to out bid the offending party.

About a year or so ago I read an comment on this site about how to get the American IRS to allow you to claim your Thai Girl Friend and kids on your tax. It gave a tax form WT which I have not been able to get any help on finding it on the irs site or on other email sites. Can anyone help me here. I am desperate to find out what I have to do to get her and the kids as a tax write off on my tax. I have been supporting them now for about a year and a half and am planning to buy some land in Issan for her to build a house and go stay with her when I am in Thailand. The first thing you need to do is determine if they qualify as dependents, you should be able to find those definitions in the IRS website(Pub 501 is a good place to start), generally they need to be related to you and citizens or residents of the US. Early March, 2009: still lots of bars and lots of girls and not that many guys to keep the ladies happy. This is a great time to be in Pattaya. If you've not been to the city for a couple of years, forget everything you knew about specific bars. Damn near everything has changed since my last trip two years ago. One whole section off of walking street has been torn down to build a sort of beer garden road with a stage at the end. No one goes there. It's a shame to watch that band play with no one paying them any attention.

There used to be a few really good sanuking spots around the "boys town" area. Cats (I think it was called), was one of my favorites. They're in the process of renovating (and it really needed a bit of a touch up). Unfortunately, they've been renovating the girls, too. They're much sexier now, but they're no longer girls. Bummer.

You know how there are bars off of Beach Rd / Walking street, Second Road and whateverthehell Third Road is called? Well, developers have found some additional roads and have put up bars and clubs in those areas. Don't ask me where, I just scooted around and ran into them by accident. The expats tell me that the rent near the beach is too expensive so plenty of bars are moving into the back streets.

Development in the city is astonishing. New high-rise buildings are going up everywhere. Beach Road now hosts a shopping mall that rivals the best of Bangkok! Awesome cinema complex inside.

For those that rack up the Hilton points, seems they are putting a Hilton in the new shopping center around Soi 11 and Beach Rd. I doubt it would warrant the cost, but for points probably be pretty nice.

Tough night on Walking Street. Slim pickings after 1 AM. Had two acceptable girls in my sights, but both were pulled while I was contemplating. Some guy with two barfines tied up the spinner of my dreams with lady drinks. Other hotties of interest turned out to be cherry girls.

I have a confession to make. I'm a Connect Four whiz, having played it for many years and even done some study of C4 strategy. So my first time in Phuket I was surprised to see the bar girls playing it. They asked me to play and I declined. Finally I gave in, and while I won every time, I was surprised at how good some of the girls were.

I had the same experience in Pattaya, only there this one girl got really pissed because I kept beating her. The more pissed she got, the faster I beat her.

From a Pattaya forum, this is a true story of a falang and his Thai wife who went on Holiday in Pattaya.

In the Hotel the falang was ready to go out and say`s to his Thai wife that he will meet her in a bar they alway`s go to. so after an hour the wife turns up, after they finish their drink the falang gets the bill and there`s 300TBH not accounted for. The falang queries what the 300TBH was for, where the cashier say`s its for the barfine of the girl who has joined him meaning his wife. so in the end the falang had to get the owner who knows them as regular customers to get the 300TBH taken of the bill.

In pattaya there`s freelancers who visit different bars to pick up customers, if a customers wants to take the freelancer than he has to pay the barfine to that bar where the freelancer was.

The last time i was in Pattaya was a year and five months ago , So judging from this length of time ive noticed a lot of new bars. where you get a pocket of bars the ones at the back which were shut are now open.

wow? Baccara a gogo in walking street is amazing, i only went in there because it had draught beer for 59TBH, there's two levels where the girls on the top floor wear no panty's, so you can see them from the glass floor from the 1st floor. The girls are very friendly, that Thai smile you used to get years ago is alive and kicking here. i really do recommend this a gogo. It reminds me of what the VIP club in Nana Bangkok used to be like.

I am now in pattaya. have to say this is not the town i was used to see!?!?! it has change so quickly with times that the old Pattaya is a mere memory. walking street has a completely different face, now, you see lots and lots of chinese tourist groups been herded like cattle, then, you have all the Russian venues in place (clubs, hotel, bars, etc...)
This time i was absent from this town not too long and is hard to believe how "progress" is transforming this town. read in the paper that thailand got like 3 million chinese tourists last year!!!! if you see them, they are like "locust"!!! swarming everywhere they go.
I am staying out of walking street and just play the field on soi 6. thinking next time i would just stay in thailand no more than 7-9 days because is not the same. some would disagree but i'm beggining to realise it would be better for me to pay now more attention to the Philippines, Singapore and batam.

What's going on in Pattaya is owners seem to be buying two bars together knocking down the joining wall to make them bigger, the reason for this is groups of males seem to want to sit and drink as opposed to walking in a bar and barfining girls straight away.So now owners realise they make money on drinks being sold.

I wondered why my bill was so high when I went to a Gogo near the entrance of Walking street.

I went back the next evening [sober] the girls who recognise me from last night crowded around me asking for lady drinks again when I realised why my bill was so high I'd just read a notice saying all lady drinks are 150B.
